According to the wiki, the reason the Black Goat's icon changes to cute maid goat is because Mark chose the _goat eye_ to replace his own when he used the special dagger. That's pretty funny.
Thtas funny as hell, i never even uses the dagger untill last biss up till my friend said i need to use earlyer to progress, so i never weven thought to try other eyes, lol.

lol, I often like to use a tactic I call “conduits”, where I place a card like a cat, which is sacrificial and has no attack, behind something else that has no damage, and I just remove the worry of a whole lane, and also getting a free sacrifice extra every turn.
I feel like he played better than Snuyy tho, and he's a card gamer

In other playthrus I’ve watched, by the time they use the dagger the player can get a “special” eye that advances the story. Leave it to Mark to get an entirely different kind of “special” eye!

coming back after having played the game for myself, it is amazing just how effective he is at getting through the game despite his many misplays. Yes, knowledge is a factor, and as much as i want to blame him for not knowing the mechanics of each boss phase, i cannot. What i can blame him for on the other hand is his strange deck building choices, and inability to see the swarming potential he accidently stumbles into.
His cockroach is a great example of sigil synergy, and he never fully realized it. After the initial summon, it is effectively a better cat. sacrifice it, get the card and its cost back for free, play it again, sacrifice, rinse and repeat until he is out of spaces or cards that need sacrifice, all while also outputting damage, something the cat cant do on its own. That isnt even mentioning the secret limitation on cat that the cockroach he built ends up completely bypassing.
Final death card COULD have been FREE, thanks to a pelt showing up as cost option, yet markiplier somehow thinks 1 blood is a better cost.
With multiple warren cards on top of cockroach, tributing should have never been a factor for anything but 3 or 4 blood cost.
The single biggest mistake Markiplier was consistently making is not knowing when to draw from the deck compared to squirrels. He would have no potential sacrifices anywhere in hand or board, build a deck full of sacrifice-needing cards, yet draw from the deck without a solid offense/defense. Maybe if he had some freebies in the deck, i could understand the gamble, but the only cards that fit that description were pelts; things that could at best wall up, but never give blood. Squirrels can wall just as effectively as low tier pelts considering the offensive pressure he was under with most instances of the poor choice.
With all that said, the only chance markipler had to get past speedrunner trapper was to use the knife more wisely, getting an early lead that he only needed to secure 1-2 extra points through FLY DEFENSE (yet another mistake in his assessment of win conditions) grizzlies.

Actually it can lose its ability. It's called "many lives" not "immortal." If you sacrifice it nine times it turns into an undead cat.

*The Flying Urayuli* is something I will always vividly remember from this playthrough. That and Sir Fire Esquire.
Watching Mark win while not drawing a single squirrel is the most mildly infuriating thing

He was doing so well in the first episode, micro-managing squirrels and deck, but this episode he just ditched the squirrels

impressed how mark was able to beat trapper on his first “real” try
I mean, he beat the first half, but there is no way to know for sure if he would have been able to win the second. He had 3 pelts in-hand at the end of the half, and tr trapper gives you an additional one when you beat him. This means that mark would then be able to "buy" half of the overpowered beasts that get added to the table, but they go into his hand, and not onto his side of the table, But he did not have enough blood to sacrifice in his hand to do much after that.
I was able to beat all of the bosses in the first tutorial phase, even with the "too fast, too soon" op bears (it wasn't my first try but i deleted the save data to try and do it so i knew what i was doing already)

@@kosm999 after you erase the data it's like starting the game for the first time with leshy explaining the rules and "not beeing allowed to beat the angler", the only advantage i had was knowledge, you can't beat it if you don't know the games mechanics that's why i said i beat all of the bosses in the tutorial phase, because i did, i literally beat leshy before dying and creating your first memento card

@@mjamin9124 You don't. It keeps you from getting so lucky that you beat the game faster than you're supposed to. The game still had stuff to teach mark after he died. I think you have to die a minimum of like 3-4 times before you can actually beat the game (not counting all the puzzles & junk).
@@mjamin9124 He couldve probbably beaten those bears by stalling with his squirrels, pelts and cockroach on the empty spaces until his own grizzly killed the one in the corner and done enough dmg to win, Not 100% sure He would have enough time off the top of my head but He couldve atleast given a bit more of a fight.
*The Flying Urayuli* is a great excuse for any situation, including:
"I can't go to work because *The Flying Urayuli* won't let me leave the house."
"I was so close to finishing that TPS report, but *The Flying Urayuli* trashed my computer and then vanished without a trace."

Mark makes a combination of the smartest and dumbest plays, he's constantly at either end of the spectrum and he somehow keeps winning, its honestly fascinating
Sometimes at the exact same time, like never sacrificing his cockroach to get things out for free or constantly forgetting cat can be sacrificed multiple times
so true he makes both the dumbest and smartest decisions. One moment I'm face palming and the next its hard to follow his strategy

I believe someone in a Game Grumps comment section described this feeling as "watching one of those mobile game ads where the people refuse to solve the puzzle". Though I get that CZcamsrs have to commentate as well as play, and I'd be horrible at that.

I feel like he doesn't think the pelt cards are actually creatures so much as tokens. That was something that was tripping him up in the fishing boss when he didn't think to place the pelts. Maybe he assumed making it the cost of a pelt would make it only available through the Trapper?

Some secrets:
If you set the Clock in the room to Eleven o' clock, you might get something good for the 4th boss fight.
The Cards you see in the painting are what you need to place on the board, doesn't matter if there's other cards on the board, just set those and you might get something good...
The safe's combination never changes.
Snuff out all three flames next to the puzzle shelfs for something good.
Tips: The knife has a purpose, though you may not see it till after your second Death Card.
Always go for the cheapest cost and highest stats for your Death Cards.
Fusion is always good!
Unkillable is the most OP ability in the game! (Ouroboros is your friend.)

What Mark essentially made here is a movable unkillable infinite sacrifice card
The Cockroach will give 4 bones back to itself and will return to your hand once it's dead, which means you can sacrifice it as much as you like on any space that you want for a maximum 4 times in one round. You did a good play with the roach, but you need to realize it's actual potential, Mark

As we see in the video, sacrifice tokens don't stack because then the cat would be OP, the cockroach is basically another infinite cat that you just have to place on the deck everytime you sacrifice it. You can't physically use a 4 sacrifice card with just the cockroach. You need either a goat and the cockroach or 4 creatures you're willing to sacrifice

Let's talk about some of the smart plays that Mark did to balance out all the roasts in the comments (which I tend to agree with).
5:10 I feel like that was a smart play. Get rid of all the other cards to have only ants. Now we have a lot of damage to deal.

a worker ant sigil statue on my squirrels early game so i had an all powerful ant army, managed to beat the entire game after...too many attempts

Mark: If I only have my Flying Uyaruli you'd be so dead.
Army of flyer-blocking bears: Not even
Actually, if Mark played an Urayuli(Airborne or not), then it would kill the grizzly in their lane, the grizzly behind the now dead grizzly would then(after taking non-lethal overkill damage, not that it matters) strike the Urayuli with 4 damage (less than Urayuli's 7 and therefore non-lethal), this gives them an opportunity to kill the second grizzly which would leave Urayuli an open spot to attack the opponent (Urayuli would only need one shot to kill the opponent if Mark hadn't been struck yet, which he likely hasn't been at this point).
There's a (non-fatal) problem though, Urayuli would strike the opponent on their 3rd turn, this leaves the grizzlies in the other three lanes to attack twice each, so in order for this strategy to work, Mark would need 6 cards that serve the sole purpose of blocking said grizzlies(which is very plausible if he gathers cards like squirrels, rabbits, gecks and especially pelts).
I don't mean to sound like I'm flexing my brain or stroking my ego (I apologize if that's how I came off), I'm just making a point that these barriers aren't impossible to overcome, just difficult (although significantly less so with some carful planning).
Edit: I also didn't miss the point of your comment, Mark seems to still have a lot to learn (case in point, him lamenting about lacking the Harpie's Bridleg Fan), though that won't stand for long given his current rate of progress.

But I still think that he couldn't have won with an Urayuli because he hadn't enough cards to block the 2 bear attacks, because he would have to sacrifice his whole 4 cards. (If he drew the Urayuli he could not have picked the goat for 3 blood)
The only way he could have won is the scissors (or to play smarter in the boss fight)
@@theMemeProduction Yeah, there’s no denying that Mark was completely screwed in this case, you need some careful planning to overcome one of those grizzly walls, my favourite method is to get a pair of scissors and a strange larva (it would need to be played before the first candle is extinguished).

Did you notice that, when he stabbed his eye with the dagger, he didn't get the "All seeing eye" out of the chest. Thats pretty weird. You know why he didn't get it?

I cannot express how much I love his aggressive blinking and narrative voice.
I love the way Mark plays. It's like he's testing everything so he's better next time but you can't tell if he's doing it on purpose or not. It's either he knows he won't win the first time so he wants to learn as much as he can, trying everything or he just wants to have fun and either way I'm here for it. Say what you want but in all my watch through of this game he's the first one to wonder what would happen if the caged wolf died immediately after getting it.
Yeah there are a lot of players that it takes a long time for them to go through Act 1 because they just don't think about certain things. It's a game that really rewards you for paying attention and trying everything you can! The problem is that if you don't think of something soon then it will be harder to think of later because you are used to thinking one way.
It seems like he's missing out on a lot of dialogue because he killed the stinkbug.

@@fsekalak no, I wasn't really a big fan at the time. I do know about the incident tho. Basically hardcore undertale fans or whatever got pissed because Mark was killing every character. So then Mark didn't make another Undertale vid until a few years later

The thing I love most about Inscryption is the way the health is done. There’s no set amount of HP for the player or the dealer, it’s based on the amount that the scale is tipped. If the scale in tipped toward the dealer, you have more health, and vice versa. It’s different and I like the concept a lot.

But thanks to that Luck stat, it comes out in his favor. He’s the definition of Chaotic Good.

I tried my mfing hardest to win without losing it so i didnt get the chance to see what happens lmao that part gave me undertale vibes breaking the fourth wall
@@theodyssey8042 it doesn't actually delete the file but it will ask you to follow the rules and delete it. if you do delete the file you win the fight.
i hope he gonna play at least till the "twist"/ this game is too good!
