      I have 27,000 rounds through my Sigpro 2022. I trust this gun.
      Malfunctions? 1 because I didn't seat the magazine in all the way (see how many rounds... oops, one error)
      2 do to real crappy ammo (I had a malfunction in my P226 with the same poor ammo).
      At the time, I was having many malfunctions in my Glock, but that was the year they put in cheaper springs (wider tolerances) and the Glock just couldn't handle the crappy ammo (malfunction after malfunction either light strikes or stove-pipes).

    With respect to the Sig 226, I’ve owned a 2022 for years and it's lighter, more comfortable, and the de-cocker is smoother. The bore axis is a non-issue. I consider the “heavy” double action trigger a safety feature when carrying one in the pipe. The single action trigger is smooth and consistent. The 2022 is a far better gun than many others in its’ price segment. Mine has a stainless slide and looks expensive, always gets attention at the range.

      I have the predecessor SP2009 With the proprietary accessory rail that I never planned to use anyway, I agree with everything you said about this model which is the same as the 2022 and for half what your pay for a quality Sig these are a great deal. I think the only thing wrong with them is that the polymer guns were ahead of their time and not well received. I’ve had mine for about five years now and put thousands of rounds through it most of it steel case, gun runs like butter.

      I have owned a SP 2022 for 6-7 years and purchased it as a 2nd 9mm to my first purchase the Sig Sauer P226 MK25. For durability, reliability, and any condition use the P226 is hard to beat, however the SP2022 is right there with it for about half the price. Both have night sights and I find I shoot the SP2022 better many days than the P226. It is also lighter, 3.9" barrel vs. 4.4 " and as a bigger person makes it a viable carry option. 15 round mags with Mec-Gar 17 rounds around as well it can serve in all the roles. The grip is great, changeable backstraps, very accurate, and I just prefer the DA/SA when not carrying a SAO like a 1911. Great value!

    Don, thanks for the review. I just purchased this handgun on Friday morning (10/09/2015). My FFL received it on a consignment from a Pennsylvania State Trooper. The handgun is immaculate and hardly shows any wear whatsoever. The handgun comes with the Sig nite-sights, stainless steel barrel, two magazines, and the two back straps. My price was $350 out the door. I thought it to be an excellent deal with all that i was receiving in the box. I can't wait to take it out for a spin at the range. French law enforcements have adopted this pistol (in replacement of the beretta 92FS and others) after several tests. It will remain in service until 2022 at least (as his name suggested). The new service round selected for the pistol is the Speer gold dot. As for my french opinion, i think both pistol and cartridge choice are wise. Stay safe!

    Really nice weapon. Bought mine, during this madness, for 550. Came with 2 mags. Better than my Glock 19. Super accurate and easy to shoot. If you see one of these at you gun store, buy it. It’s a Sig 226 frame with a Glock Body. Pretty close to ideal, in my estimation.

      I agree. I hated my G19, nothing but problem with the striker pins and failures to feed like there was no tomorrow, so happy to get rid of it. I didn't even know the SigPro 2022 was a polymer frame till I stripped it, couldn't tell the difference between it or my P229. Got mine in 9mm cause I had the 229 in .40 and had a .357 barrel, as well. Bought two MetGar 17-round mags, because it only came used with a 15-round, but it came with a nice two mag paddle holster and paddle holster for the piece. The paddle holster was interchangeable with my 229's .40/.357 mags. Great firearm, accurate, no recoil, good sights and almost as flawless as my 229. Would definitely get another in .40.

    Typical Sig-Sauer drop-type, rebounding hammer, is a designed feature. That way, the striker/hammer hits the firing-pin ones, then back's up. It's actually a safe-mode.

    That hammer "bounce" you spoke of is because without the weapon actually having a round chambered, it never strikes the firing pin. It is feature that protects the weapon. Dry firing, because of this, will not harm this weapon.

      @miker200711 Před 10 lety +3

    Mine, purchased in late November, came with one magazine as mentioned but had two grips, and they were marked SIG SAUER rather than SIG PRO. (I have long fingers, so I switched to the larger grip; it only took a couple of minutes. Nice.) Mine also had three-dot tritium night sights rather than the "lollipop" kind shown here. That's one thing I like about SIG, constant improvement and lots of options.

    Hey Sootch. My brother and I each bought a SigPro 2022 9mm with: two 15-round magazines; night sights, case, paperwork, brush, lock for $499 brand-new about 3 years ago. Still runs like a champ after many rounds. I also have 2x the Mecgar 17-rounders that work well also. The only gripe I have with the firearm, as with many handguns with slide-stops, is that one can accidentally "ride" the slide stops and prevent the the slide from locking back after the last round. Enjoy your SigPro!

    Great review, ,I own a g17, m&p9, fns9 and the 2022. the 2022 is slightly larger then the others but that being said. It is built like a tank. From the slide rails, frame to the slide etc. The higher bore axis worried me till I shot it. this is the most comfortable and most accurate out of the three guns to shoot. Due in part to its hefty size, weight, and that sweet single action trigger is hard to beat, love it. This is a gun I would trust my life with. Very accurate, completely reliable etc. This gun is all SIG make no mistake about it, its a 229 with a poly frame. In fact I wouldn't hesitate to put it up against a 229 and its half the price. If you are looking for a SIG and on a budget, dont hesitate..Thumbs up to SIG.

    I just bought this because I could not pass on the price. Mine went for $479 and came with a holster and 2 mags. I can't get it until tomorrow though. I bought it Saturday and the FBI database was crashed, so no firearm transactions could take place and my local shop is closed Sun and Mon. I was actually going for a Glock 19 Gen 4 but when I saw this next to it, I got it without having ever shot one. The Sig name (and price) were enough to take a chance. So all weekend I have been researching and seeing what others think. Hickok45 gave it a pretty decent review. His hands are so large that the trigger pull was not comfortable and the high bore axis was something he had to get used to. So far, I cannot find anyone who has a negative thing to say. I cannot wait till I can run a few boxes through at the range and see for myself. I will update this comment after I have shot it.

    That "funny hammer feel" is the design of the gun. It only comes in contact with the firing pin when firing. It actually slingshots across a little gap to strike the pin and rests a few millimeters(if that) away from the pin. Nutnfancy explained it all in a video.

    The hammer block safety you spoke positively about is also the reason the hammer rebounds, which you complained about.

    Love my 2022. It’s my edc. Never fails me. Only other Sig I have to have is a 10mm 220 Legion.

    Awesome video and great review. I just purchased one today and will pick it up in 10 days (California). A guy next to me stated while I was filling out the DROS paperwork that it’s a “LOW END” Sig and I had to remind him that there is no such thing as a LOW END Sig. I can’t wait to shoot it. Great Video..

      David Vasquez How do you like it so far? Are you in SoCal? Did it come with a case and extra mag?

      Hello.. it did come with the case and extra magazine. I also purchased another magazine online at Magazine warehouse.com for under 20 dollars. It’s the same mag the Sig came with. The Sig and the magazines worked flawlessly. Very smooth and accurate weapon. I love it....

      How is this gun working for you? Also whats your view for ccw with it?

    • @sasquatchhunter86
      @sasquatchhunter86 Před 5 lety +1

      Jesus A. Martinez I have one. It’s kind of chunky and blocky for CCW. I’d have it as a winter gun on an owb holster. Good shooter but you can definitely find better choices for CCW. I mainly carry a 5 shot snubby (LCR). Plenty of fun.

    Great gun, had a 9mm version sold to fund an AR so just bought another, in .357 Sig. It will make a good companion to my Sig P226 Navy.

    One of the best guns they make

  • @stormsigma
    @stormsigma Před 11 lety

    I had one of those for awhile, and was lucky enough to get one of the leftovers from when they "cancelled" the line two years ago, so my LGS was selling them with nightsights, a SIG laser, and three mags for like $400. I just never really bonded with the pistol. I hated the trigger, and in the end, it just felt like SIG was trying to put out a subpar product, just to have an entry in the polymer pistol market.
    Sold it and picked up another S&W M&P in 9mm, and couldn't be happier.
