Some fool had snapped the driver side wiper arm off of my 21 year old car just leaving a 4 inch ‘stump’ .
I got the nut and washer off ok but the arm was stuck fast .
Then I discovered this video !
The day of my attempt was eerily like that in the video, sporadic biblical showers . I reckon it took about 10 minutes and I ended up using the spanner method too and off it came before the next downpour. I retreated to the man cave to await my delivery of a replacement arm from the breakers and replaced it just in time for the next downpour which also helped to test the repair. Success!
Many, many thanks for your advice, I was really at my wits end and thoroughly depressed when I discovered your video! 😊
You're welcome. I'm glad the video helped and best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Out of all the ones on you tube this was the one that worked for my wiper arm. Thank you!
Great! Glad you got it sorted.
Nothing a hammer can't do. Really good for washing up too!
That's a thought!
Half-way through a job to switch the wiper blade motors (R to L, L to R) on the back of my Mini R55 Clubman, when I ran into the wiper arm STUCK/Corroded issue. Ran back to the PC to find a YT video for help. This video popped up first. YOUR METHOD WORKS!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
PS: Now, if there was only a video on how to explain to one's wife that her wooden kitchen utensil is in pieces because her husband chose to use it as a "lever" to remove trim pieces/lever off the wiper arms without scratching plastic/paint.
You wrecked her kitchen utensil? Don't worry! I'll send you some body armour! Glad the video helped and best wishes from CarSpyTV.
@@CarSpyTV No worries. I figured that if I wake up early enough this Saturday and quickly run to IKEA...I have a good chance to find a replacement. Then, if I stain it with some spaghetti sauce and then run it through the dishwasher...maybe it'll look like the original. Wish me luck!
I've mentioned your plan to Mrs CarSpyTV (my other half). She reckons your wife will 'know what you've done'. Therefore, I suggest you change your name and emigrate. It's safer long term. Good luck!
You did well to remove that wiper blade & show us how, especially as it was raining.
I'm never too far from a hammer!
Great video! I was able to get my rear wiper arm off. I like how you explained how to protect the spindle. Thanks!
Glad the video helped and best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Thank you so much! Saved me a huge headache
You're welcome, Mitchell.

Brilliant I had big problems with them on the transit must on been on since the 60s I think, I am off down to St Albans on Saturday just a show for transits, have a good weekend mate
Enjoy the show, Ian. It sounds like good fun. Hopefully you'll get good weather. 👍
Another very useful video.
Of course you know I'm going to say it would have been easier and quicker if you'd used GT85 instead of WD40. 🤣
I prefer the vice-grips, especially where there's not a lot of room to swing a hammer, then either pull or more pliers to tighten the vice-grip pliers, all left to soak in GT85 first while a mug of tea is made (in a pot of course) and drunk, then the second mug to empty the pot and perhaps return to the car or leave it overnight. There's never a rush to do anything on a car.
Thank you, Nta16. As I reached for the WD40, I chuckled in anticipation of you mentioning GT85. I'll pop some in a video one day! 😀
@@CarSpyTV at least you had the decency not to show or say the brand name. 🙂 And I suppose there's less chance of that can slipping out of your hand whilst filming.🙂
This method works! Thank you.
You're welcome. Glad the video helped.
Thank you!! You saved me. I appreciate your tips. It really helped.
You're welcome. Glad you got it sorted.

You're welcome. Glad the video helped. Plenty more to follow.
Interesting! However, I'm not surprised it rained. What did you expect as soon as you'd wrestled/hammered off that stubborn blade? Excellent know-how and well explained.
Thank you, Bob. It's still raining now!
Very useful tip. Thank you.
No worries, RDT.
good stuff, good advice and I got a chuckle out of your presentation. I wish you were my neighbor!

Excellent🎯. Worked like a charm.
Great. Glad the video helped. Plenty more to follow.
@@CarSpyTV very entertaining. Great wit:)
Thank you, this did the trick.
You're welcome. Glad you got it sorted.
Great video, this technique worked for me. Once it broke free , it would not come right off even when rotating it with all the leverage of the entire arm. I had to use my puller to get it finally off, but I doubt if the puller would have worked without loosening them your way first. My wiper arms are on a splined shaft (Dodge minivan)
Glad the video helped and best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Very patient tapping
Thanks for the comment, Paddy. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Saved me a tenner, thanks!

Thank you sir
You're welcome, Red War.
I just did this to my 2003 Mitsubishi magna and it came off in about 30 secs previously to hammering it couldn’t get it off no matter how hard I tried ❤
Great! Glad you got it sorted. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.
if they are rly stuck that wiper pulley wont work either... I bought the exact same one from the picture and it just bent straight away ( and it wasnt even a cheap one)...
Interesting info. Thanks.
It's work thanks sir
You're welcome.
Hmmm, I hope Mrs carspytv will allow you to bring your cars, into the kitchen next time. You can use the engine as an grill, at the same time. Hmmm, more carspytv egg sandwiches. Hehe
I like this idea, Matt. I'd have to chuck out the fridge, oven, and freezer but that's a small price to pay! 😀
@@CarSpyTV haha.’would make good content lol
lol worked like a charm, but it was extremely hard to remove.
Glad you got it sorted and best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Would it matter if the arm is broken off to a tiny piece?
Well, it's not typically too hard to get a replacement wiper arm. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.
How long did this take you? Iv tried this over and over i think its well and truely welded! 😢
About 5 minutes. Sorry to hear you're having trouble. You'll win in the end!
I just broke my windscreen using the hammer…😔 F in the chat for my dumbass. Resorting to the removing tool.
That's rotten luck, Haks. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Omg I thought the plastic cover over the nut was part of the wiper arm itself
Glad the video helped.
I hope you put back your wifes toothbrush before she started moaning about it missing
Nope. I just said the house is haunted and blamed a ghost!
