  • How to Reattach the Rear Windscreen Wiper Arm and Install a New One on Audi A3 8P (2005)
    Introduction:
In this tutorial, we will guide you through the step-by-step process of reattaching the rear windscreen wiper arm and installing a new wiper blade on an Audi A3 8P (2005). If the wiper arm has become dislodged or damaged, and the wiper blade needs replacement, this guide will help you complete the task effectively. Before starting, ensure you have a compatible rear wiper arm and wiper blade suitable for your Audi A3 8P.
    Tools Required:
    Socket wrench
New rear wiper arm with blade specifically designed for Audi A3 8P (2005)
    Soft cloth or towel
Optional: Automotive lubricant or glass cleaner (for cleaning the wiper arm)
Step 1: Position the Wiper Blade Vertically
To begin, turn off your car's ignition so the rear wiper rests at the bottom of the windscreen. Ensure the wiper blade is in a vertical position before proceeding.
Step 2: Lift the Wiper Arm
Gently lift the rear wiper arm away from the rear windscreen until it locks into a raised position. Be careful not to let it snap back onto the glass while working, as this could damage the windscreen.
Step 3: Inspect the Wiper Arm and Attachment Point
Thoroughly inspect the wiper arm and the attachment point on the rear wiper motor to check for any damage, misalignment, or debris that may be preventing proper reattachment.
Step 4: Reattach the Wiper Arm
Align the wiper arm's attachment point with the wiper motor's shaft. Make sure it is positioned correctly. Gently press the wiper arm downward and firmly until you hear a click or feel it securely reattach to the motor.
Step 5: Prepare the New Wiper Blade
If you need to install a new wiper blade, take your new rear wiper blade and ensure it is compatible with the Audi A3 8P (2005) model. Most new wiper blades come with a protective plastic cover that should be removed before installation.
Step 6: Attach the New Wiper Blade
Locate the small tab or release lever on the underside of the wiper blade where it connects to the wiper arm. Use a flathead socket wrench to press the tab or release lever, simultaneously sliding the new wiper blade onto the wiper arm. Ensure it is securely attached.
Step 7: Lower the Wiper Arm
Gently lower the wiper arm back to its original position on the rear windscreen. Avoid letting it drop suddenly, as it could damage the wiper arm or the windscreen.
Step 8: Test the Rear Wiper
Turn on your car's ignition and activate the rear wiper to test the functionality of both the reattached wiper arm and the newly installed wiper blade. Check for smooth and even wiping across the rear windscreen. If everything looks good, you have successfully reattached the wiper arm and installed a new wiper blade.
Step 9: Optional - Clean the Wiper Arm
If your wiper arm appears dirty or shows signs of corrosion, use a soft cloth or towel with automotive lubricant or glass cleaner to clean it. This step is not mandatory but can help improve the overall appearance and longevity of the wiper system.
    Conclusion:
Congratulations! You have now successfully reattached the rear windscreen wiper arm and installed a new wiper blade on your Audi A3 8P (2005). Regularly inspect your wiper blades for signs of wear and replace them as needed to ensure optimal visibility during rainy or snowy weather conditions. Remember to follow the manufacturer's guidelines when choosing replacement wiper blades for your Audi A3 8P model. If you encounter any issues or complications during the process, consider seeking assistance from a professional mechanic.

I agree with you, save your time and use the a angle grinder as first option!
If the shaft is stuck there no way to remove it without damaging mechanism, therefore the grinder is the best option.

Here's the thing. I ran into the same problem. I changed the blade, and my wiper was getting stuck. I bought a wiper removal tool, a spare arm and blade, a wiper motor, and the tiny wiper spray nozzle. Like in your video, my arm motor works fine when I lift the arm from the glass, but it gets stuck when it comes in contact with the glass.
I changed the blade, but that didn't work. I used the wiper removal tool, which broke the arm from the nut. The upper bolt came off easily, but the arm was stuck. I applied WD-40 and other methods, but it wouldn't budge. So, I decided to take the arm off, but damaged the groove around the nut. Once that was out, I was left with the arm nut on the motor. I had to get some local mechanic help to remove it, which he did for free. I brought he car home and then installed my new arm and blade, but I ran into the same issue.
I'm not sure if I need to change the motor, but when I lift the wiper arm from the glass, it revolves properly. I'm confused about what could be the issue. Any suggestions, guys? Although I have a replacement motor that I can install, I reckon the current motor is fine. If you think the motor is fine and something else needs to be checked, I will return the motor for a refund.
I do get some click sound when I take the arm off the glass, which stopped when I changed it to the new one, still not sure what is it.

Good info, thanks! I have a 2017 Q5 and the arm broke. I got the bolt off, but the arm won't come off and as others pointed out, pulling to hard on it may break the wiper motor and then you are into more time and money.
So I put PB Blaster on there and will leave the nut off and wait a day to see what happens. Also I just thought of an idea to lift the hatch until the bolt area is parallel to the ground and then spray penetrant in the area, so it sits like in bowl and let that sit for an hour. Just to see as others may not have cutting tool. Then get the Drimmel tool. Good idea with the cardboard. Note a Drimmel tool is smaller.
Since the cutting blade is smaller I think I will cut it o n the side, so the cutting blade is parallel with the shaft. Then put a small screwdriver in the slot, tap it and the sleeve should spilt or open enough to relieve the tension and come out.
If you don't have a cutting tool, a hack saw should work. Put it against the window with the blade facing down, and cut into sleeve until you reach the shaft. That is basically a relief cut. It will allow penetrant to get in there and if the cut slot is tapped with a screwdriver I think the sleeve will split.

Thank for showing how to replace the rear blade. Do you have to push really hard to get it to snap in?

I had to push a little to keep the wiper in the position I want, but by gradually tightening the nut, it fits into its seat and in the end it is tightened and ok.

What about the washer fluid jets? Did they work properly after your installation? I did not see you test that. And you did not show the insertion of the small plastic piece that directs the washer fluid out thru the plastic cover and out over the window. Just like the other video I watched. The job is not done UNTIL IT IS DONE!!!!

I don't have a washer fluid jets, just on front window. For small piece plastic you're right, I forgot record that, my fault.

Whats do you do with a Grinder? All so to use WD 40? That is Not the Solution. You must used a hair dryer. When make the Part from the Viper warm for 5 minutes have a Easy Solution. Look is very quickly.
