Thanks for taking the time to make and upload this video - it gave me the confidence to pull my entire wiper assembly out and do what you did, except I used a blowtorch on the bearing to get the shaft out. The problem was exactly the same though. Cleaned it up, packed it with grease and now it is like new. Thank you!

loosen the battery clamp because a bolt can fall into the computer box and grease on the axle and if it is very tight (that's how I did it) drill a hole in the side of the aluminum to get to the axles.

Thanks for your video. My VW Golf wiper mechanism seized and the assembled geometry of components were very difficult to remove in that state. It's tricky enough navigating the assembly out of it's space under the windscreen when you have the option to position the linkage to it's flattest state but it was a real puzzle pulling it out with the link arms set at 90 degrees. Once out, it took lots of heat and penetrating oil before I could disassemble the drive shafts from the phosphor bearings. One was easy but the other well and truly not wanting to move. Cleaned and put back together, it all articulated freely now with putting it back into position easier than removal. One heads up I learned - close the bonnet before testing wipers because the Golf has an inhibitor switch that prevents the wipers working with the lid open 🤣🤣. I spent ages testing fuses before cottoning on 😎😎

Even if you just gain access to the joints to spray them down, it'll probably do some good. The blades and the plastic portion are easy to remove. I added some lubricant to the joints, cycled the wipers for 10 seconds and the wipers have regained full speed.

WD40 where water and debris seeps down into mechanism, then Blaster silicone spray to add more permanent lubrication.. Doing this over span of a few days and it will work its way down into stuck or corroded mechanism.. then works like new. Don't have to disassemble anything.

Good job explaining, but you should use a liquid like "Blasters" to free up the mechanism, not oil, as oil has no additive that can break free that sized up pivotal joint. Could possibly even get something like "P.B. Blaster" or other brand (ask parts store manager). Might save lots of labor. You either maintain it or you will replace it! LUBRICATE!

same junk on E-class Benz... they even made sure to feed the driver side shaft directly with plenty of rain water from the collector.
The lack of any water seal around the shaft ensure the cheap lubricant can evaporate prematurely in direct sunlight and get replaced by metallic corrosion.
Of course $2 ball bearings would make this mechanism last forever.
What is amazing to me is how cheap Japanese car have perfect wipers but on Benz, Audi etc... everything gets sick so fast : nut of my driver arm was loose causing extra-jerky wipers: recommend using thread locker!
Over engineered systems for high maintenance followed by premature failure... sweet !
