Buying a $2000 basic system just because it's yellow is probably one of the stupidest things you can do. But when money isn't an issue, then why not?
I promise you I could give you much dumber ways to spend $2000.

Calling an M3 powered machine basic is absurd. This machine will outperform countless PC's at the same price point. The limiting factor however is the idiotic wee bit of RAM. If you could upgrade it on your own (which is how it should always be), you could install 128GB of it and this machine would blow the doors off almost anything and it would last you at least 10 years with its Grade A components.
@@theINQBSNah, even a similarly priced gaming laptop would punch this imac in it's nuts, both cpu and GPU. And a PC tower would basically make this feel a generation old. Imac isn't bad, it's just not good for the price

@VinnytotheK I think he's referring mostly to the color of the imac, but it also still uses power regardless of not having a battery. Glados is in a potato battery. Lemons are more coductive than potatoes, therefore Glados would be jealous of it.

I really wish Apple would color match the bezel with the case. The white just kills the look IMO. I agree with Luke they should offer a 27" or 32" would be amazing! Finally, I fully stand with both that an iMac should be offered with a Pro or Max chipset.
Wait, I thought the base model WAS a 27"? Is it not any more? Oh wow I just looked at their website and nope, they've shrunk it down to 24" instead. Well that sucks! I can't go any smaller than a 27" display now, since I've used them ever since my last iMac I bought (when it was still Intel powered).

The dumbest apple product are their kb and mice. I have been buying Macs since 1993, and I have always used kb & mice from other companies, and for even more reasons since the arrival of mighty mouse in mid 2000s.
The Apple mouse and keyboard is the only way to get smooth scrolling and Touch ID though
I like the Apple mouse. It works well. People always complain about having to charge it on the bottom, but it literally only takes five minutes to charge for eight hours of use. It’s not at all a big deal, it’s just something obvious that is easy to make fun of. Like no one ever takes a five to ten minute break during a days workload.

As someone having a 32 and a 27 inch monitor on his desk, that single 24 inch display would be a tiny bit small for me. On the other hand, most of the time I'm actually on my 13 inch laptop, so I see the possibility of using such a compact setup.

I so want to see an Apple Silicon imac Pro. They should do a 30" 5.5k with ProMotion and M3 Max chip and use the Space black color. That would be epic.
The iMac is targeted at the casual user who does not need to portability of the Macbook line if you need more power that what the Mac Studio was made for as they no most creators will want to use there own displays.

Oh man, 2 legends!! I'd love to see you get together more. As for the mac, the yellow is fuggly, but you do you. iMacs are great though. Yeah, a little pricey, but they work when ya need them to for 10-12 years flawlessly.

I have an M1 iMac with 16 GB of ram I got for school but now it sits on the side of my desk used for research, web browsing, and typing up docs while my PC handles my studio like tasks. I think apple made it clear that the iMac was rebranded for causal user. The VESA mount is a must though. Get an arm and it's amazing.

It feels like the iMac and MacBooks were the go to for years. I saw so many iMacs everywhere in professional settings with the Mac mini being an after thought for most people.
Now the Mac mini is more of a go to than the iMac with the laptops always being the main product. It’s an odd switch since it seemed like one of the best values they had and what so many people were buying in professional creative space.

I agree with the point that the iMac is a very niche product. I recently switched out my Windows PC for an M2 Mac mini with 24 GB of memory and 1 TB of storage. The flexibility of being able to switch out screens and peripherals was a big thing for me. The iMac doesn't have as much flexibility as I would've liked.

Please do a tech review of stuff like Milwaukee, DeWalt, and other job site and mechanic stuff they have lots of earbuds,Bluetooth speakers,cables, and stuff like that and I think I’d make a great video
And don't forget about Klein tools for the electrician and lineman viewers of this channel, they also make various job site oriented electronic gadgets like little thermal imaging cameras that you can use to find hotspots in a breaker box etc Bluetooth earbuds even Milwaukee and Klein also have various accessories like Bluetooth hearing protectors.
The fact that the iMac doesn't at least have the M3 Pro as an option is so strange.

lol i use a 10 year old samsung smart tv 40" as my monitor...works amazingly
It's a real shame what they did with the iMac. It's a great machine, but that 23.5 inch (yes, it's not even 24 inches!) is just too small or many previous Intel iMac users, and the lack of the Pro chip holds it back for greater productivity. Most of my clients used 27" iMacs, now they're having to compromise with a laptop, 27-30 inch monitor, and lost of cables, when they just want a simple all-in-one.
Honestly? I like the white bezel on the yellow machine. It looks... unique! Lol.
I made a similarly silly decision recently. I already had a M1 Pro MacBook Pro, and decided I wanted an M1 MacBook Air. I wanted the M1 because I like the form factor better than the M2 and M3 variants. I bought it refurb directly from Apple for $850. Since I got it, I haven't touched my Mac Mini, choosing my air over it for work use, and I've barely touched my MBP, just using it when I'm working in my office, which isn't often. Sure, it's silly, but I do love this MBA.
