Yeah, but the persons who had the vertical mouse pads had horizontal monitors, so there was no need for extra verticality
Nah I think for most the main reason to rotate is because of wrist-wear. The bottom gets rough after repeated use, so you rotate to get a 'new' & smooth bottom again for your wrist to rest on. You can see it most clearly on the last rotated mousepad, the original bottom (now the left) is clearly more worn than the new bottom.

Bruh wtf why would you need vertical movement, I use 100% of the horizontal space and like about 50% vertical, I cannot think of a single thing you'd want more vertical mouse pad space. And when your mousepad gets worn out from the wrist just buy a new one, or at least fucking flip it 180 degrees... This makes me so mad.

As a person who uses high dpi, I only need a small mouse pad. And I have it vertically as well because I don't move side to side much, but I do scoot my chair in and out different amounts.
same, it's so weird to be as hostile as them about mousepads of all things, considering that there are many different ways that people feel comfortable using a mouse.
Mine's 'vertical' but it's solid black so there is no 'up' to it. I have a high DPI and a small desk. I also don't move side to side often, but like you I do sometime lean forward when gaming - and sometimes I lean back more for watching videos. That extra vertically of my pad makes it so I don't have to adjust it's position all the time.

My favorite setup was an ikeas double desk office setup behind the home theatre chairs facing the large tv. All cables hidden. I could work and keep an eye on the little ones.
28:36 I used to do the same, i did it because horizontally it was a bit to narrow and my wrist touched the table, so vertically it is usually more comfortable. I have now a new one (which is also pretty small compared to those.)

7:26 The wood thing is, depending on client use, either a dust cover for (at the time they were popular) VCRs or old external drives, or a shelf to place extra things on (like an elevated monitor) or both. late 80s office type stuff. You could buy them separate and just place it on top of your flat top desk, or get desks with them attached.

15:05 I also had a monitor that did that a while ago, no idea what causes it but it did it every time it was turned on and the longer it was turned off the longer it took to return to normal, but it did always stop the weird lines thing eventually, if it was just overnight it would only take a minute to go back to normal (I've since replaced it)
It only happened when plugged in via DisplayPort, HDMI was completely fine no matter how long it was off

Honeycomb structure inside is supposed to make it stronger but the pressure on small area of the monitor arm makes the whole table seem like cardboard (which it basically is - glorified cardboard sold as table). So basically I put a monitor arm on it and got a giant hole on the back of the desk. I might reuse the legs and get a new table top. Made of proper solid wood this time.
@@xfbzx2651 nope, the standard setup I’m talking about is a solid wooden butcher’s block slab, over two IKEA Alex drawers. You’ll find them often in people’s setups because they’re cheap but really clean looking.

yeah fuck that shit. im sick and fkn tired of hearing about upgradability when a. upgrading is stupidly expensive b. upgrable stuff is often code for fixing shit that breaks because SIs suck at making a wokring system and c. who gives a shit about displays. its its a competent display made after 2010 it will serve your hoi polloi eyeballs just fine. we're approaching a point where our degrading eyesight cant tell the difference between 4k and 16k

I bought a ton of those MoCA adapters to get wired Ethernet through the coaxial through my house and they were one of the best investments I made, but the use of the home vacuum one is next level. Though I do use my home vacuum so I wouldn't be able to do it.
I never thought about mouse pad orientation before this. I defaulted to vertical because I have insanely long but skinny hands and used a SUPER high mouse sensitivity, so I did it to have equal space on all sides of my mouse
I actually love the little decorations at Emily's desk and her PC is looking sick AF. The ergonomics though she could totally put a bit of work in

WAIT A MINUTE!!!!!!!! So Jake has a cat named Arlo. But in Sarah's "tech upgrade" video she also has a cat that is named Arlo that looks exactly like Jake's. So 1 of 3 things is going on. Either 1.they both have identical cats, both named Arlo. 2. Sarah gave Arlo to Jake. 3. They are dating/living together.
At least in not the only one that picked this up 😅

I’ve consistently watched this channel longer than any other CZcams channel. I haven’t upgraded tech in a couple years…this channel is just enjoyable.
4:00 the nail clipper is probably to clip keyboards stabilizers, to reduce rattling!
3:58 - im sure someone has already said but thats a keycap puller, switch puller, tweezers, a file and a clipper next to eachother. They belong together, this is completely normal equipment for the most common keyboard mods out there.
