You know - and probably HATE - Shein. They’ve built a reputation for Low Quality Clothes and Questionable business practices. But they’ve become a 3rd party marketplace, like Aliexpress, Temu or Wish - and they now sell COMPUTER PARTS. But don’t buy them - or anything else from Shein for that matter. Watch the video and find out why.

It says it's a 3070 in the picture but it's a 3080TI in the top decription but it's a 1650 in the detailed description. This happens on nearly every item. Not sure why anyone would gamble on this site :P

Because the vast majority of people that go there are buying clothing at dirt cheap prices, not overpriced mislabeled computer parts. They spend $20 on cheap pants and get $20 cheap pants. If someone doesn't know the details but gets second hand info like "I want a 3070 for Xmas" or it's their first time building or upgrading... Lot of people in those situations, especially if they trust advertising/product description because of past positive experiences. And that goes for multiple sketchy sites, especially secondhand marketplaces. But yeah I get the feeling for sure

the whole idea of shein is to make people think they buy from a single company and that it's not just an another china-vendor outlet. it worked amazingly well to fool people with that. the website and app even suck ass, but plenty of people who wouldn't go to an asian garment market when on vacation bought from shein.
and oryx 20 bucks pants aren't cheap lol but true you can buy 10 bucks pants for 20 from shein.
shein will duplicate into another app with same logistics backend for getting the stuff from the vendors to the people who order it in 1-2 years rinse and repeat.

The mic is actually pretty decent but it was not used the right way:
1-It's a side-adress mic (picks up audio from the side) so if you talk into it from the top it will sound like garbage
2-It basically requires phatom power to function properly, if it doesn't have it will not sound good, and I doubt the soundboard has good quality to begin with so there's also that to take into account
Overall from what I've seen and tested (I own a BM800 myself), It's pretty good if seted up properly and spoken into the right way (and there are many audio samples here in youtube that also comprove what I'm saying)

You can find reviews here on YT from some very well trusted sources, and using it as a side address mic with 48v phantom power, and a decent audio interface that accepts an XLR input will give shockingly good results for a $20 mic. It's actually quite hard to screw up a condenser mic and I could see the issues right from the start with their setup.

All the SOYO cards come in the same box regardless of card model . They are new PCBs with salvaged GPU dies. I've bought 15 at this point, according to GPUz 13 came back as "AMD AIB" in vendor info, or something similar. One showed up as an MSI, and the one in my main workstation shows up as an Asus. They uped the power limit in the firmware on the 6600m cards so they will still hit about where a desktop one will, and if you tweak it in afterburner you can get the card to be way more power efficient than the desktop version. TechYes did a video on the 6600m and was able to match a stock 6600 with way less power draw. The North American division of SOYO went bankrupt a long time ago, but they still exist in China as an Asia only brand.

That's on purpose, it's so that it doesn't trap air and become a big fat balloon.

I had a few Soyo mobos back in the day, and they made one of the best CD burners around when that was a thing. Seeing that name in the wild is wild.

I'm honestly curious about the tablet/monitor boom arm. It worked better than I though

To be fair with the thermal spreading. Jaytwocents does that application technique too. Or ive seen him do it before 😂

I think the BM-800 is the same mic as the Neewer NW-800, if you shove it through a half decent mixer with phantom power and a proper XLR cable you can actually make it sound decent.

Yeah, a couple of years back a scored 4 for about the price of one (still don't understand how).
They do need phantom power, and they are side address, but once you set it up they are much better.
      They are still going strong.

Why is Elf Ear Linus doing something for me...

    • @chainsawfreak
      @chainsawfreak Před 11 dny +3

tbh, my GF got some elf ears (and other stuff) from shein, not the headphone ones, just the plain ears because we play DnD, and some of the accessories and props you can get are very well priced, especially for something you don't use everyday, and you don't really care if it breaks, and a lot of those kind of stuff would be really hard to find somewhere else

From the top, that case reminds me a lot of the Antec NX230. Feels like its just a version with different panels on
