it is also about as expensive as gas station food (I don't know how this compares to the US- but in Germany everything you buy at a gas station is 2-5 times the normal price)

I’ve been saying this for years, militaries (private and government) should hire Steve to consult on what is good and bad about their rations. Because not only does he talk about practicality and taste, but it’s effects on morale, mouth feel, how it effects the system, and what they should bring back.

Well, what Steve means is that .5 oz can be dedicated to variation in the menu so maybe an extra turkey nugget or some other trade.
In my experince; some menus need that extra .5, other menus you got left over you either suck out or trash it.

@João M. They aren't Healthy, but not unhealthy. In the field you need those extra calories and Ingredients. They are designed to be consumed for up to about 2 weeks, assuming they can get fresh food up to the frontlines by then. But yes, consuming them as your only food source for more than two weeks is unhealthy

Having grown up in Mullins, SC it’s always a joy to see that SoPacko branding on one of Steve’s videos. I still get MRE’s as Holiday gifts every year... so great for our little town of 3,000 people to have an impact on the servicepeople out there doing what they do! And thank you, Steve.

Ive been wanting to get an mre for a while now and I think this is the type I'm gonna look for. These newer 24 hour rations seem to be the way to go. I've never had one, but I feel like I've eaten a ton after years of on and off watching you. What a unique hobby to be so compassionate about.

Have to say that chicken actually looked good. I remember back when I went to basic training (2008) and I got the grilled chicken. It was a formed processed patty. Wasn't horrible, but not really good either. They've definitely made a huge improvement since back then.
