Been a massive Porsche enthusiast since I was 11 yrs old, owning a 924, 944S and a 986 Boxster. I am so happy to see you with the 993 and to see how happy it makes you. Even though I'm not a youtuber, now in my 30s and just have a normal underpaid 9-5 job, it does give me hope that one day I too can own an air cooled 911 (930 or 964) hopefully before I'm 50 but we'll see. Good job Alex, fair play!

People are also way way over-valuing this car. It’s a 35k car if you ask me. 38k on a miracle day. And a dealer would pay 32k. And before everyone goes mental: I’m an ex-Porsche specialist. And 993 expert.

back in the early 2000s i was working for a Porsche body centre as a driver i got to drive one of these 911,s the owner had had a few changes made it revved like some one ripping silk the gear change was sublime what a car .alex has got a really good buy mileage is irrelevant .how i would love to own one of these .
Ive had a play also in a few .
The outsides a bit muh and doesnt really have the presence of later cars or the in your face of 80`s cars or the class of 60`s . Its in my eyes near the worst of the lot which is a shame . The engines felt lumpy and harsh , i didnt get silky smooth more tractor than anything else as they clatter along at normal speeds being just not a nice place to be . The weight is at the point of unforgiveable with the arse end about to snap out at any point when you do get to give it a bit and unrecoverable when it does so kudos to alex for the 4x4 and it really isnt a bad idea . What i could never forgive was the interior which is only a slight step up from a morris marina in layout and quality . It just doesnt cosset you in wealth or sport , its just a massive nothingness and theres feck all to show you are ment to be in something special . I climb out my supra and the dash is a parts bin of toyota granted but its wrap around well thought out which is impressive ..... but the germans didnt bother . Its a real shame it really is . Theres no end of other cars such as this such as evos and gtrs which also let down beyond forgiveness so its not alone . Maybe im odd in that i get to see the car when i walk upto it so an interior really does matter as thats the main part i interact with and use . Drive a decent jag or aston and the interiors are really part of the experience of knowing you are in something special . If you can get in then a TVR sorta shows the point perfectly .
Just not for me . Theres so so much better out there for the money . Each to there own though , some people are feeders for fatties and happy .
What u love about high mileage cars is they usually haven’t got to high mileage without being properly looked after, so 9/10 times you’re getting a belter!

Matts my hero now , I fell in love with a 73 RS 2.7 at the age of 17, on both of my visits to the Porsche museum in Stuttgart there hasn’t been one on display 🙁

I'm really glad to see your channel subs are going so well. This is the kind of channel I like to see. The high end supercar scene on CZcams is saturated, and they're just not very interesting any more. They're too refined, full of driving aids and frankly, they have too much power. They're also unobtainium. It's good to see stuff that is actually possible to own and able to be worked on.

Fit some non voided wishbone bushes from a r32 to miles it makes a huge difference to the way it turns in and tyre wear

When I heard Matt say engine strip down… I think Alex’s bottom started an awful oil leak too! …. But this is all worth it! Every penny! It’s a future investment that will only ever go up in value at some point.

I was 46yo when I went through my menoporsche. It was a 996 Cab4, I had it 3 months and the dealer bought it back for the same price I paid for it. He took into account the £1100 service.....
