This 993-generation Porsche 911 Carrera RS is a low-mileage, single-owner example of the sought-after analogue sports car, equipped with the Clubsport front and rear spoilers and factory strut bar. One of only 1,104 examples produced, it would make a discerning addition to any collection of rare modern classics, and is sure to thrill its next owner out on the open road.

I think Chris is giving serious thought to buying it.
I think he was aswell until he saw that the asking price is currently over £310,000 😊
@@ashleyboyer2721stay tuned for the next episode of Collecting Cars in which Chris sells all his cars to buy this 😅
@@Fabulousprofound168He'll have to change the channel name to "Collected 1 Car" 😂
Be crazy not too if you could. I know I’d regret it if I had a shot.
He probably would if Flintoff hadn’t binned his brief and gave him salary stress.
It sold for £456,000. This is a collector’s piece and its buyer bought it as an investment. The 993 is a brilliant car, but at that money it’s way out of an enthusiast’s hands. I was on track days with these in period and they were brilliant, drifty, super manageable driver’s cars - the featured RS’s drifting days are long behind it.
Chris talking about the subtle fading on the dials is perfection. Like the way an Antiques Roadshow expert can talk about tiny nuances in jewellery/art/etc to place things with pinpoint accuracy. In his element. Love it!!
Loved that show when i was a kid, could watch it all day. Same way i can watch Chris.
Chris at his passionate best. He doesn't care about looks, money, status. He's all about 1. Cars. 2. Driving them. Period.
Thats why is he one of the best!! ❤
No I disagree..... Every car is a high value sale and we are watching a Sales Advert of Chris promoting the said car!
@@nobass_stub1394 thanks captin obvious 🤦♂️ blind freddy knows its an add for his business, but its still a really amazing car tho
The 993 has always been the Porsche of my childhood.
I’m too young to remember the 964s.
But I did saw once a C4 parked outside my neighbors.
Still remember the day, still had the engine lid popping out for cooling. I was probably 4, I was thinking: what on earth is that .
Is unfortunate that now these shoot in value so much.
Feels like my generation can’t enjoy their childhood heroes
I've owned a '97 993S (bought new) and a '97 993 turbo (bought with 2K miles), and they are wonderful cars. The Speedline wheels just look so perfect on them. Many times I wished I had kept the turbo as the prices now are sky-high, which I ended up selling when I got a 2010 997.2 GT3RS.
You make me feel old. I def remember when the 964 came out and own a C4 from 92 . Luckily bought it when 964s were just Cars with leaky engines and big ugly front bumbers. Of course this was before Magnus Walker and Singer. 😊
I don't think 993s are that expensive, to be real here if 993's are expensive then what are homes right now? It's all relative to the times.
One of only 23, right hand drive Clubsports apparently. Beautiful!
Thatˋs not a clubsport.
@@hmk911Clubsport spoilers, front and rear. Not saying it's a full clubsport model, but the spoilers were fitted as options to this car.
So not exactly a unicorn
@@vyrnmn Yes, I believe it’s the aerokit from the CS on a regular RS.
Standard 993RS could be optioned with the CS rear wing. I bought a '95 RHD in 2000, from AFN Chiswick, with the standard wing in Midnight Blue. I remember that at the same time there was another in the same color for sale at AFN Guilford that had the CS wing. Both were sub £60K at the time. Two of a total of 47 RHD's imported to the UK. OMG, I wish I hadn't sold it in 2005
Adore the 993. Simply beautiful.
Regardless of the fact it's a car, it's one of most beautiful things in the entire universe.
993 is the the all time masterpiece of automotive engineering, calling it an icon will be an understatement
That is so much better looking than the current version. What a GEM
Lots of repairs too
It's also a couple of hundred kilos lighter, isn't it?
Owned one 993rs and a 964rs ….. both incredible cars , raw , involved and totally mechanical in terms of driving ……. They shared a garage with my 1999 996 Gt3, (this was 99)
what a collection now that would be
Wish they were still in the garage
If that’s what you owned, what do you own now ?
@@cheesepizza87a Fiat Punto?
Why did you sell?????
How did the 996 GT3 feel in comparison?
Living the dream mate. Count yourself lucky you've owned them.
The 993 is the greatest Porsche 911 ever made and no one will ever change my mind on that.
After seven years of Porsche sales experience, ive driven ALOT of different cars not just from Porsche but other brands as well. The 993 RS Clubsport was the most thrilling car ive ever driven. I was very lucky that my dealership had one while I was there, I know I will likely never get another go in one in my life and I knew that ahead of time.
I always liked the design of carreras more, somehow. They are beautiful
PORSCHE is something else...wow - all those years later still perfect.
I have a love for Porsche, especially this one. I love anything Vintage, when someone looks after an item as rare as this, makes it extra special.
Chris Harris, the passion this guy has for cars and his love for them is outstanding.
He doesn't need to tear around a track to show what the car can do, drive it around the streets and let it present itself.
Chris is by far the best motorcar presenter..keep them coming.
He isn’t a presenter anymore, he is an auction salesman. Embarrassing.
Hey Chris. This is one you should buy and hold on to forever!! Don’t let it go and regret it dude!! The excitement pouring out of you is amazing
he's probably doing the maths right now - he obviously wants it!
@@TheXJRMAN I hope so or he’s chopping at the bit at record profits too. Either way it’s a huge win for him and the company.
He used to own one ages ago. Secondly he is reviewing to create a buzz to sell on collecting cars. All these short films are to draw people in to bid on the car.
@@elliotsimpson1148 Yes that’s part of marketing. If you go back and watch his other videos, he’s extra excited about this car and spec. It’s real not some fake poly to draw attention. That was my point. If it’s that good and brings so much joy/excitement then why let it go for the sake of money?
Maybe he gets a commission.
Chris is such an underrated presenter, great to see him no longer being overlooked and finally getting the recognition he deserves.
I think he is one of the best !
Underrated by whom?
Underrated?! He presented Top Gear!!!!
@@backdoorbutcherI was gonna ask the same. Anyone hired by Top Gear definitely transcends underrated in terms of automotive journalism.
Underrated? Nearly every video he's in has a congregation of blokes in the comments absolutely weeping at how amazing he is & how the way he drives a car brings them life completing joy
A guy around the corner from me has one , he’s had it for years! The guy gave me my first work experience job 😊
So happy to see this machine, one I've coveted from boyhood. To listen to this guy, who's thoughts I've especially valued since Autocar. Admittedly with a touch of sadness having reached an age where that dream, perhaps that's all it ever was, has begun to fade. Still, makes me smile and I think I'll dream a little longer.
The ultimate 911 in the ultimate condition. This is once in a lifetime car.
That's the most unicorn of unicorns that have publicly surfaced.
993 last of the air cooled stunning beautiful
Looks like a “I’ve just bought a Porsche “ type car for Neil Clifford… great
I subscribed to the channel that does the best reviews of the ‘good man’ and ‘lads mag’ era of legendary cars from the 90s. Chris is brilliant, and my generation, it’s a total 🏆
The wing, the looks and power .. what a beauty
That's the kind of car for a gearhead.
The dream come true, that car that you always wanted and want to DRIVE.
I hope is not going to a museum, cars are mean to be driven.
Grateful to have been able to have the privilege to experience the 993 RS, and will wholeheartedly agree - the 993 RS shifter setup is absolutely perfect. Gated manuals are a tactile treat, but the 993 RS feels like a deliberate, precision operation while at the same time utterly seamless.
They do make the 993 RS kit for regular 993’s, and yes, it does make them feel just as good!
I remember a guy who had one. He only used it for autocross, and track days, though he had a street plate on it. Amazingly tidy car around corners.
Holy Moly what a find! 😀
993 generation is the GOAT!!!
Great to see you Chris ... your passion is infectious
This is the ONLY car driver/reviewer I EVER want to watch and listen to for the rest of my life... You, Mr. Harris, make me genuinely ENJOY cars.
Give me Steve too and I’m good.
Alan Lewis & I ran an RS/CS in the Porsche 50th Anniversary Rally,in Australia. It was such a perfect tool for the job. First Event was a Night Trial. We came first. No idea how,but we won that...We placed nowhere in any other Road trial or Rally Type Event,on the road, until we got to the last Sprint Race at Calder, and raced on the Thunderdome,in pouring rain, same for every other of the 75 or so Porsche's. Proving the fabulous balance of the 993 RS,we won that event,by a huge 2.5 Second margin, over every other Porsche Variant, including 964 RS's,RSR types, etc. Mind you Chris,it didn't hurt that I'd just done the Nurburgring 24 Hour in the night part of the Race,on Slicks! Monkey, you & I had a drink at the Pistenklause after the event.
Lovely piece Chris, thank you! 🙏🏼
I love the way you said I’m just bamboozled about this car it’s a beauty the Fiesta Flash.
Nice. I've a 1996 993 C2 iris blue metallic, 66,000 miles, 6-speed manny tranny, varioram, LSD. No CEL, no oil leaks. Multi-show full-concours winner. I do my own maintenance. I'm never selling it.
I love that you describe this car as “CRASHY”. Makes me want it.
One of the best looking cars from the past, oh and it’s lovely to see a car without horrible touch screens that get covered in fingerprints.👍🏆
Chris good to see you back.
I'm in bits. As a 52 yr old Gen-Xer, oh-my-lordy, this IS THE ONE. Achingly beautiful in every conceivable way. 👌🏽
There was one of those in that colour that lived in Newry (ireland). Absolutely amazed when it passed me on a sunny Sunday a lot of moons ago.
The 993 will always be the one. No question.
QUICK STEER?! a NEW Chris segment? Christmas came very early this year.
The daddy of RS ? Awesome sports car. Great video Chris 👍🏼🏆
My favourite Porsche of them all, the 993 ❤
Bro just casually gets out of a E61 M5 touring
Probably manual converted 😂
I just want them to sell it over here. Why does the US hate wagons?!
Ridiculously casual exit from the Beemer. Video? Please Chris?
@@vipe650r Lack of good taste? Lack of common sense?
Yeah, probably a bit of both. We've been sold a bill of goods on both diesels and wagons. I more blame the corporations and media, though. We've been fed the crossover nonsense and lifted the Prius to godlike eco-status and much else that's kept us from estates and a good economical diesels and the like.@@nevillewran4083
Down to the steering wheel. Just perfect
One of your best videos lately ❤
One occasionally knocks around my hometown (Oswestry) . Lovely thing. The owner drives it properly too as I've encountered it on the open road
Truly spectacular
I haven’t even watched this yet and I know it’s gonna be the best video ever
A piece of history right there. Man
I know it’s not the same thing, but that reminds me of my RS America in Midnight Blue. Simply the perfect set-up, in my opinion (sadly totaled within a year by a red light runner). That steering rack was the best ever. This car is a beauty.
I just saw an RS America the other day and was so pumped! Sorry to hear the fate of yours :(
Thanks!
A neighbor had a red 993 RS chassis only, the engine was missing and supposedly the interior had been stripped to make it a hillclimb car (never happened). It was sitting in his yard unprotected because he had given up trying to homologate it (local DMV required to have the same engine the car came from factory with, which was impossible to find). I felt stabbint chest pain every time I would see it when passing by, the most beautiful 911 just rotting away. This example is beyond mint, whoever's gonna buy this will be the luckiest bastard and I'm jealous
Is it still there? Does he want to sell it?
Tell me, but no one else please!@@DanielMoraPhoto
Tragedy, defined.
My ultimate 993 & last of the air coolers
993 GT2 is the ultimate though.
Neil clifford is watching, stalking and bidding on this Porsche prey surely...
What a beauty! Good luck 🤞 haha ☝️
The ROCKING 911 in other words!
Very limited produced and rare, light, beautifully built, one owner and very low millage, last air-cooled flat 6 and the best manual transmission in business! As Chris mentions it's the real deal and the absolute unicorn of 993s to date! a true classic yet modern street legal race car for Porsche engineers, drivers, fans and dreamers like me 😎🩶
And oh boy, that massive wing and aerodynamics are wonder!
Chris..... 11000 miles . Once its over 10... its no longer 10. Beautiful car .
Hi met Chris 2 decades ago at Silverstone during a Lotus 7 drift training day. He drove his 993 GT2 there, what a car. Wonder if he misses that car, he should buy this one
That is a mod people do Chris! RS shifter and golden rod! I have this amazing shifter in my C2! FD motorsports sells the kit now. It’s one of the first mods a 993 owner installs normally.
It's a stunning thing for sure.
993 + Chris = awesomness guaranteed 😎
Chris needs this one , if he lets it go he will talk about it forever .. Chris snag it !
❤❤😂😢😢😮😅😅😊 you were right about Porsche nerds. Yes I’m a Pioner too and I got a lot of posters a lot of diecast in the line of hot wheels of Porsche and I also have three shirts of Porsche and I got one from car driver from Porsche and I think he still races his Porsche. Keep up the good work Chris.
I exported a rubystone 964RS from Japan in December with 8,000kms. Stunning car but the 993 RS is another level 🎉
Absolutely fantastic.
❤😂😂😢😢😮😅😊😊 Chris that Porsche is so damn sweet. I wish I was there in the Porsche with you and you smashed the gas in that wonderful fast Porsche take care and come back to Top Gear. I like it when you were on there take care bro have a good day. Have a good weekend and a good week.
Love it! Huge Porsche fan.
I have one, but a Komfort spec ‘95. I cant stop driving it.. it is just fab. Mine is Met Dark Blue but polar silver is the colour..
2:55 I don't think I've ever seen a E61 M5 in that colorway. Looks stunning, even in the background.
thats chris's
@@FenderUsa Doesn't actually surprise me one bit haha
Beautiful!
What a fantastic motor car! That thing is going to sell for a pretty penny. I know of another 993 Carrera RS with less than 10k kilometers that is for sale in Spain and they're asking 700.000 euro for it. What a machine, whoever buys it is one lucky sod.
I feel like you deserve a car like this Chris!
Absolutely stunning perfection
nice one chris ! an you are right i have driven a 993 -911 but not an rs the one i drove was amazing i think the best looking 911 of them all .
Absolutely stunning car
Amazing 993....very cool.
This Porsche 911 993 Carrera RS and The Tuthill Porsche 911K that revs up to 11,000RPM are both just incredible examples of precision engineering. Chris Harris you are by far the best at reviewing cars, so happy you have your own platform to truly express how talented you are in this field. Thank you
And a singer dls is not? 😂
@@BobbyDazzler888 okay, yep, fair point, i just didn't think of that when I was typing my post, but you are right.
Childhood dream car😍😍
Current bid is £305k 😳
Sadly it will probably sell for considerably more than the 305
This will be a a million pound car soon. Seriously
You know if Chris is getting excited about a car, and a 911 at that, it must be special.
Buy it, Chris. That is THE Porsche to own!
We need a similar video about your M5 Touring !!!
🙂 Very beautiful. Thank you.
My favorite 911, the 993♥️
Wish I had the money what a absolute beauty
unbelievable 10,000 miles one owner..993 RS..👍🏻✨
What a beautiful car
Had a chance to buy one of these at a steal back in the day. Still kicking myself for not buying it. 😢. Especially considering what I bought instead 😅. Which will not be discussed or disclosed 😂. One of my biggest regrets…ever. The pain is exquisite.
the owner did an amazing job at preserving it for the next owner 😆
What a beautiful machine ❤
I had a polar silver one aswell, mine had the standard spoilers and hardback recliner seats; they’re a proper car in my opinion.
Gorgeous
The 993 GT2 has to be one of the most beautiful cars ever made 🤏🏽 Something about a big wing, body lines that flow and the simplicity. Timeless would be the best way to describe these..
I saw you driving this on the road and even you looked big in it!
How hard it must have been to let that go as a single owner!
Not really when it's worth 300k +
I would imagine that sadly someone passed away and whoever inherited this car does not want it as much as they want 300k
@@finq0997 Nope, the owner is alive, well and racing.
Only play….BUY IT AT ALL COSTS!!! The color, the condition and THAT WING!!! What a beautiful, piece of art! One of the most beautiful cars of all time IMO. No way he doesn’t go FULL SEND!! This is what dreams are made of Chris and this unicorn 🦄 is grazing in your front yard! Grab a lasso and your checkbook and complete the circle! This will be a 2M car in less than 10 years assuming the condition and miles don’t get too crazy plus the Chris Harris name is worth at least 20%! We love this car and we LOVE YOU! You are THE guy my guy!!! Cheers mate! ❤️🔥🍻🦄💰
Oh my. The ICON.
What a spectacular car!
I really have loved watching Chris Harris over the years on various channels and formats (even back before he went grey like myself).
