    Just had to include the joke. But seriously, it's a comparison of two reel mowers I've owned for about a year now or so. Both are awesome and would recommend them both without a moment's hesitation. But, like so many things, it depends on what you want to get done.

    I love my Fiskars 18". I've had it for about 9 years.

    Thanks for the steel toed shoe tip that’s something I didn’t really think about…accidentally kicking something and then looking down to see toes missing would suck

    I have a 14 in American. For the long blades I give it a good push and while the blades are still spinning i pick it up and lower it on top of the dandelion.

    I can't find your new lawnmower on the internet so that it dumps the grass backwards as you set it up, can you help me please?

      Hi, I have a link in the description to the product in Amazon. It's a Fiskars if that helps that you are talking about I believe. Thanks for watching and supporting my little channel. Have a great day.

    One on the right better fit for your house, you mean Fiskars better? Or American, (just ask you to confirm, because it's depends from which site you looking on them).

    • @sittinginvitation

      Thank you Nikolay, I thought that the Fiskars one was nice because of the chain drive band the size of our lawn. If our lawn was smaller though I would have chosen a cheaper model.

    Hi, How often do you have to sharpen it?

    • @sittinginvitation
      @sittinginvitation  Před 2 lety

      Hi Marvin, I haven't had to sharpen it yet, but my main mower I use is the John Deere rider now. I have these and do use them to avoid getting in the way of the bees as we need them for pollinating. Also they have been very helpful when the mower is being worked on or if a belt breaks and is out.

    Your grass was too high to start off with. A Reel mower should be used about every 4 days and try at about 0.75" it would look amazing. If you do that even the cheaper one will zip right through it!

      It would not cut tall grass because the cutting action is at the back of the reel. The cutting should be done at the lowest point of the reel.

      Yupe, that is what I was thinking, that was some tall grass for those mowers, what 1/3 rule lol

      We definitely got lots of dandelions. I love them although I think we are not in the majority on this subject as most people love their green lawns.

    I don’t think he knows what a comparison video is. There wasn’t a single side by side section to compare results and quality.

      thank you Rodney. I appreciate your honest and candid response to the video. I wouldn’t say it wasn’t a comparison video as both were compared but I do recognize your best intent. thank you for checking out our channel and taking the time to comment. have a great day!

    Nice video. To ease your mind, you don't have to worry about carbon in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is at most a trace gas. I have it on the word of a good friend of mine who forecasted for the space shuttle that we can't affect the "global climate". The cubic volumes are just too vast. He was a navy aerologist and had to correctly forecast from the edge of space to the sea floor. So that's a myth we can throw out. To give you an idea, imagine one cubic mile of air. Just that cubic mile has over 147 billion cubic feet. Weather changes happen from various pressures of gasses. We couldn't possibly affect it that much. Oh, and you can eat the dandelions. They are nutritious. Spanish needle even more so.

    • @sittinginvitation
      @sittinginvitation  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for the thoughtful response! I think I heard that the reason we have dandelions was they were brought here by the pioneers because every part of them was edible so they would have more food. I don't know if that's true or not though.
