1:04 I looked a bit deeper into why 50mm did not fit. I was correct about the Crop sensor, a Nikon D5100 (CMOS-Sensor APS-C 23,6 x 15,8 mm (Cropfaktor 1,5)) was used. The 1.6 Crop I tested was for Canon, but still 80mm was completely off. I noticed a Sigma 17-50mm Lens was used. So I just tried 17mm on a 23,6 x 15,8 mm Sensor and it fit perfectly. Somehow the metadata is wrong. So the solution is to either change the Sensor size in Blender or Multiply 17mm by 1.5 and it should fit perfectly. Sorry for the inconvenience.
one of my favorite CZcams channel.thanks
Ngl this channel is the only channel that i can discover on the side of us about learning blender
loved your tutorial! amazing channel.. thank you for all these great tutorials!!!!!
Timur Bartels awesome thanks a lot! :D
Found this channel today, really love your tutorials!
Aidan Simpson-Gray that’s great! :D
Well explained! Clear and to the point. Thanks for the tip!
Looking forward for more!
Awesome, I am glad I was able to help!
Looks awesome! definitely going to be keeping my eye on this channel for car blender content
Wilson Tuning that’s great! Car stuff seams to be liked most. I think I’ll try to focus a bit more on automotive stuff. That’s also what I know best.
Also if you have certain topics in mind that you would like to see in a tutorial, definitely hit me up. Always good to get some new ideas.
@@DamianMathew great! and i do have a topic, would you be able to do a tutorial or some form of informative video on tire grooves or texturing?
Wilson Tuning ah interesting. Added to my idea list! High end tires tutorial would be cool.
@@DamianMathew yes it would!
Wie immer ein sehr sehr geiles Video! :)
Awesome! 😎
Thanks for this! Please make more Automotive CGI tutorials!
Nice workflow.
Thankyou for sharing
so nice
path blur looks cool.
Why aren't you using CTRL+T when adding the mapping and coordinate node?
I can't imagine you don't know about it, so are you just using less shortcuts to not confuse beginners?
Good Eye! The reason I am not using it, is because I am trying to not use any plugins (Node Wrangler) so everyone can follow with a standard Blender. But maybe the Node Wrangler is considered Standard, I would just have to mention it at the start, why not. Maybe I'll do that in the following videos! Awesome you're watching my videos, by the way, I really appreciate it!
how do i get car sound in my 3d car animation need helip
Thanks a lot for this! The reason you didn't get a perfect black and white shadow mask out of blender was due to filmic color transform. Set it to standard and the masks are good to go in photoshop.
love it, i'm a photographer and sadly with covid and shit can't really go shoot some real cars so far forza horizon 4 and nfs heat were the 2 main sources of my car photography but rn i want to give 3D modeling/rendering a try :D gonna take a while before i can get the results i want but always good to learn new things :D thanks
Hi can you talk about modelling front and rear lights
i am stuck at photoshop 3:12 what did you use as shortcut what i dont understand XD
I don't get the unwrap part... do I have to position the plane in any specific direction? Because my UV Editor shows a weird pattern after unwrapping with project from view
I really like your tutorial ;)
That’s great man, I am glad I was able to help you!
How did you edit the rendered image through nodes? Struggled a lot to find out how to do that, so I cheated and just did another render of only the car without the plane under it. Thanks in advance!
How 2 use hdr cars
is there a tutorial on how to make those wheels spin for a static image export?
ps. the end result has a major flaw, in that the wheels seem to be levitating because of the shadow missing where the wheel touches the tarmac.
for a still you can just spin the wheels and enable motion blur
Awesome vid!! Came from Reddit
THELAST PATTY awesome that’s great! Glad you like it!
Hi Damian I was just wondering why you choose not to use holdouts and shadow catchers?
Hey! Check my recent video about HDRs, there I am explaining it briefly.
1:17 why did you multiply per 1.6?
Pog
Hey Damian! Does rendering on blender generally require very big processing power? I'm new and trying to understand what type of pc I need to get.
I am rendering a on a big boy GPU 2080 RTX. But a 970GTX is also fine and fast enough for professional work. Google on what GPU you can afford. The 3090 is the fastest for the money at the moment.
hey damian, it looks very good !! how to do it in video though ? animation
You forgot to mention that HDRI and Backdrop has to be color matched aka tonemapped ( contrast, color, saturation, brightness etc must be about same ). All you did is just graded the backdrop for whatever reason, normally after that if that is so necessary you should've graded the env HDRI too so they both match and try to keep the render "RAW" looking. After that I would use Cryptomatte to color correct some stuff for more realism also add some post like the shadows then color grade whole image on top and for final touches use cryptomatte again to enhance the realism/style and for absolute last step probably send the image to Lightroom or DaVinci Resolve since PS simply sucks for color grading.
Sometimes it's also good idea to slightly desaturate the blue sky in the HDRI.
i just suscribed to this amazing chanel and i wanna know if you would make like a quick tutorial teaching how to do the wheels spin in a car, i know that you make this one but im talking about like a 2 min tutorial for that and the motion blur.
Amazing content and im surprised that you have that kind of views with this very high quality videos.
Erlantz Urbina that’s great! I am glad you like my videos! And great idea, maybe I’ll even make that video next. I am still not sure what’s better: long videos or short. Short it’s hard to explain something, but for something like this it’s cool I guess.
highlight edges around the tires seem off
All a bit off if you ask me haha. Sometimes it’s just the hdr but sometimes also you just need a lot of tweaking.
Is there anywhere I could send you works I've done? Like a social media page?
Blank Slate Arts yes of course! Just to my email db@mouval.com
Nice tutorial! You might give "BLAM" a try for calibrating the camera?
Yes, but somehow it goes faster to just tweak real quick, also BLAM does not always have good results. On a real job where everything has to be perfect, I would let BLAM run over it at least once, but for most shots, tweaking is good enough.
Nice, but reflections on the car must be blured as well.
At 1:55, There is a L shaped plane on which you setup the car and the plane have multiple pictures arranged. You can share more about how you did that? Please that would be really great.
Yeah looks a bit crazy, I admit. It is actually very simple: go into the camera view -> U for unwrap -> project from view. That’s it. Keep in mind, the L shaped plane needs to have a few subdivisions so the image is not stretched. Did this help?
@@DamianMathew Oh! okay sir, I'll try it now. and let you know how it goes. Thank you so much for helping :) Really appreciate it.
Blender tutorial or Photoshop?
It would be great if you did it all as a follow along tutorial. I mean a little slower and more detailed, as for beginners. Because, for example, what you did in Photoshop is a mystery to me (I never used it) and I didn't understand anything at all. A detailed tutorial on Blender and Photoshop will definitely collect views on CZcams.
thats my main struggle, slow or fast .... I'll think about it! Thx for the suggestion! :D
The integration is quite nice but the motion blur could be improved, using z-depth or other methods to make it seem real.
2:16 Can't we render this? (I really want to avoid photoshop 😅)
At 1:10, how did you know it looks off? Im not able to tell how its off :(
The two long edges of the planar surface he made should match those white marks on the road. you need to play with focal length to match the perspective. it's a painful process if you don't have the image metadata. i'm not a blender expert but I think there is a perspective matching tool.
@@nonameishere7234 I see. Thank you! I always thought focal length was like a zoom level so why can't we just zoom in the camera till it looks and lines up well?
@@Sh-hg8kf it helps to learn some photography basics, look for an old 35mm film camera. they're usually cheap. You'll have fun and learn framing and composition 😉
@@nonameishere7234 would a digital cam suffice? I'm not sure where ppl develop films here anymore
Holy shit how is Anyone supposed to follow this
This looks so good! But the way of rendering this is not something I'm a fan of, it can get problematic at times. And it isn't natural since there are some editing and stuff, though, it was your tutorial's goal, so it's a point for you. Here's a like and subscribe
Loop Is Dedz awesome! Yeah it’s problematic but this technic is very common
Make this tutorial step by step it is very fast. I guess this is only one tutorial of this topic
Najib baloch thanks for your feedback, I will try to make slower beginner friendly tutorials in the future! :D
@@DamianMathew Thanks for the response good luck for future.
Najib baloch thanks a lot!
Yeah. I'd agree to this. The content was kinda something that a beginner would need, but the pacing was a little too fast, with little to no explanation (for beginners).
Rest it was an awesome tutorial, be regular and defined with your uploads and you certainly have potential to gather up a good amount of audience from our blender community.
Cheers!
Shaurya Pant thanks for the feedback! I think I need some more practice, but glad you like it so far!
Do you work for an Automotive company or is this just a hobby?
Blank Slate Arts quick story: it started as a hobby. I always wanted to be a car designer but it never worked out so I decided to do architecture. This worked out better but also not well. Then my parents really pushed me to get a job, so I got an internship at a graphic design agency. There I did all kinds of random stuff as well as Volkswagen (my favorite client and closest I ever got to car design). After my internship I actually didn’t get the job there so I actually just wrote a cold email straight to Volkswagen cause I really didn’t know what to do. And believe it or not, they gave my young 21 year old ass a chance. First 3 days. Then 2 weeks. Then 2 months I think. Then full time and I stayed for 4 years. After that I moved on to other big automotive companies in Germany. Then I realized that’s not what I want to do in life. So I basically quit all my jobs and tried to think about what I want in life. That’s pretty much when I started this CZcams channel.
@@DamianMathew Hey, wow! That's a really great story, thanks for sharing and I can't wait to see future stuff, I'm for sure sticking around this channel.
Blank Slate Arts that’s awesome! I’ll try to keep posting as often as possible but at the moment I need to still do some paying projects for rent and stuff but the goal is to hopefully someday only focus on things like CZcams. But I post at least 1-2 a week at the moment. Also if you ever have suggestions or questions, I am always there to help!
Too fast man..
Sir, can you just slow down a little bit? In one second you are explaining 3 steps...
