In this video I breakdown the cinematic re-creation of my four closest items: A HydroFlask, caligraphy pen, pocket knife and bone-conduction headphones.
We'll talk about using reference, modeling, subdivision modeling, texturing, surface imperfections, lighting and rendering.
At the end of the video I challenge you guys to create something yourself! The winners will recieve all four items plus my surface imperfection pack.

the real mind-blower: every time Clint appers onscreen in this video it's actually the 3-D model of himself he created as his Level 5 challenge
3D rendered Clint is a theory as old as time itself.
Too bad he didn't use his "Handsome Squidward" Clint model.
I love how he's always looking out for C4D and Blender users alike
Blender Gang! :,)
Yes it makes me happy
I like to call them the Rich and the Poors.
I wanna learn Blender from scratch for free (im a student). Any advice? Where i should learn basics from?
@@kermit90210 definetly check out andrew price's (blender guru) donut beginner series
Clint seems like a pretty cool guy
Doesn't he just! Seems like a really genuine bloke. So glad I stumbled across his channel recently off the back of him leaving CC.
He is... Trust me.
he IS .. and funny. and kinda kind.
Seems???
For me he seems like he's on fire >_>
he is getting sponsors, that's good keep it up Clint boi
From thumbnail alone, that Lamy pen was spot on. Good work.
Dude so glad to hear!
can we just appreciate that clint could have charged for this class, but decides to teach for free??? next level generosity, what a dude
and the fact that he left a perfect dream job to teach us this. Clint is just the nicest dude
I really like these videos and I think Clint is a great guy and teacher, buuut this is a sponsored video. He is sharing its knowledge with us basically free but he is also definitely making a profit from it, which I think it's awesome but it's not exactly what you are saying. However really greatfull from the video and happy you can do what you enjoy it Clint!
@@graysnail9232 Well sure that's true! Is just the way he phrased it seemed a bit weird to me
Scaling the bump depending on the cameras distance is a great piece of info. Everything else was basic and i learnt nothing. I Would not pay for this video. He skims over everything and teaches nothing except a few material node concepts for a software that I don't use. This isn't even a 'workflow' to get photorealostic models. It is a work flow for rendering any 3d model. This video is completely unrelated to photorealism, he just happens to be using them as the example but teaches you nothing about rendering photo-realistic itself.
@@Atezian I think you're in the wrong place
2:19 that’s an insane render right there!
For a second I thought that was real, damn son
@@saran9736 i thought they were all real, even other ads, im discovering right now all i've seen were fake renders, my life is a lie
@@SToXC_. Lol!
I am still doubtful about that. Was it a render or filming closeup for reference?
It's decent but it's a rookie error by putting it on a parquet wood floor texture at the wrong scale. Now the pen looks like it's gigantic.
Clint’s voice added by the background music creates an extremely chill experience
Yeah, something about the music he uses compared to other "chill" music with videos on other channels is...different.
damn the macro shots of the pen look so real!!! You got the proper bokeh down too!
Legit
Thanks!!
@@pwnisher you deserve it! 😁😊👍
Wow those models are insane. The detail is so good 👌 there’s so much I need to learn about modeling 😐

Why are you guys doing the bored or sarcastic face :/

I was sad that Clint was leaving Corridor because he's my favorite, but I now realize that we just get way more Clint content.
I'm not a vfx artist. But this is so damn fascinating.
Welcome to the gang 👊🤝, Clint is very cool check his other cg videos
@@bradstoonz4703 Oh I definitely will, I've been watching Corridor Crew for a while now too. These guys are kings.
@@7stringedmetal yup
One word... Blender! If you find it interesting give a tutorial a go you might end up loving it!
As someone who is a year into a Creative College and learning all the basics of 3D (and 2D animation). Idk its just really cool to have someone who's passionate about this stuff teaching and creating some dope things. Really helps push me to create more. So Thanks !!
Btw those renders were sweet!! I didn't even realise they weren't real.
You have the perfect levels of passion and knowledge for this Clint. While it'll be sad not seeing you working with the Corridor crew as often, I think you've made a good move. It feels like you were made to teach and inspire.
Everyone: Look at the knife!!
Me: Nice floor texture MATE
I know right? Everyone overlooks the little things.
Nice skin texture mate
Me, a non modeler who has no clue what you’re saying: I like your funny words MAGIC MAN
You have to keep in mind that we get all this for free. That‘s insane and super generous of you Clint. I almost feel bad for not having to pay for this
@jevf4a2 ok captain too cool to be nice to people
I want this channel to grow now, like corridor digital
Don't remind me
I can't wait to implement everything I've learnt in my videos
@@DyslexicMitochondria now I finally know where you learn this stuff
@@ThreeMountainsStudio busted
@@DyslexicMitochondria I just find you everywhere
As someone learning 3D, one thing I appreciate about Clint is the practices are universal between ALL of the programs.. learning these techniques that are tried and true.. helps build me with confidence if I ever need to jump into another program I'll be ready.
I haven't even finished the VFX Artists react but I saw this come up and drop a like. I hope this channel becomes successful!
Hey Clint, I don't have any use for the tutorials personally, but I always stop in to drop a like regardless. Love the work you're putting in, what an incredible opportunity for everyone watching!
I think the fact that i dont even do any modeling on my own but am still entertained by the content is a huge reflection of how great of a teacher clint really is. Great work man keep it up
Pwnisher is very quickly becoming my favourite channel
wow just wow, Im absolutely blown away by the amount of detail... this is truly an inspiration for me
This guy seems to know what he's doing, he should join corridor
Lmao
i think he leave cause he cut his time on learning more
Man, this video is so slick. What I really love about it is that you are talking about your methods as a strategy. Why you do the things you do. Rather than a step by step of making a scalloped cut on a pen, you incept ideas on how to solve the problem with the audience. Your pacing and flow between information didn't once tempt me to grab the timeline head to fast forward to relevant info. This is real internet teaching. I have become an instant fan.
It's great to know that even great skilled person like yourself in the business of making wonderful projects, you still are learning and it is great to see that when you more so show it on your channel compared to just saying it compared to your previous videos.
Love the reignited channel dude 👏
🔥Buen vídeo Clint! A darle caña al canal que seguro que te va genial!❤️
No ablo Espanol
Clint es muy bueno!!! 💪
anda! no me esperaba veros por aquí jajaj

Super proud of you for going after your passions even though it was so hard to leave where you were at. Your skill level is growing like crazy and I can't wait to see how far you push yourself and your limits. These renders are straight up nuts! It's inspirational to see someone go from feeling like they failed (that lambo was rough, I am sorry) to nailing some seriously tough models and textures. Again, proud of you and I look forward to what is next.
Stoked to have all your videos on while I work, excited for what you do next!
Keep going! Love what you're doing!
Those are the kind of amazing videos I'll watch while zoom classes
Some really important advice and tips here, awesome video! Going to dive into your surface imperfection video now and I'm pumped! Also wanted to say what you're doing is really cool - a lot of people would create packs (like your surface imperfection pack), advise people to go buy it, and then leave it at that, but the fact you've encouraged us to create our own textures and given us insights into how its done is really humble and I'm sure a ton of people appreciate it. Thanks dude, excited to see the channel grow even more in the future!
Clint, I've been watching CD since year 1. You leaving was incredibly sad but inspiring. I've been learning 3D modeling for a little over a year now for Blender and this video brought an understanding of normals, roughness, and loopcuts that wasn't there somehow. I'm so exited to have you as another channel that I can learn from. Thank you man, keep up the great work!
"Blender gang, I'm talking to you guys."
"I FEEL LOVED 😄"
Bro this has inspired me, I’m gonna do the casset player Walkman from back to the future!
YES!!
that's a perfect Level-1 project.. and the Van Halen cassette to go with it would be great to do after that
that's gonna be dope!
love your whole vibe man. Taking us on this journey with you and bringing up the community of enthusiasts and in my case DIY filmmakers is what the internet is all about. Respect, amigo.
Loved the video Clint! Great quality as always! NIce renders!
Watching this video while having a nice cup of chai ❤️
that's my favorite beverage of all time, especially if you get the real deal Indian Chai!! Cheap stuff is still good to though. :D
Nice I’ve been experimenting with blender for about 5 months and posted a few animations this has been very helpful
@jevf4a2 yep blender all the way
@jevf4a2 yeah and for free, can you believe it?
Great vid Clint!! Glad you are catching up with this channel again! 🤘🏻
As someone who's dabbled with making tutorials I can really appreciate everything about this. The production quality, the sound and music, photography, the smooth animated image overlays and so on. Top notch stuff Clint!
Clint: "I gotta be honest, I suck at 3D modeling"

That speck of dirt on your face cam lens made me think I had a dead pixel! :(
I was thinking the same thing! :O
Same.
Clint, you doing your own thing couldn't have come at a better time. Just started Blender yesterday and now I've been itching to binge some new content! Cheers

Hell yeah, I'm excited to see the kind of videos you start to make now!
Great video man, Love the Livestreams but this is a nice quick injection of information and tips when I don't have the time to watch the hour long streams!
How close do you think you could make a 3d model look like yourself without scanning?
This feels more like a corridor crew video than the actual corridor crew. Miss the old Builds/tutorials with things.
Love the video Clint! Some beautiful renders there boi!
Excited to see more from you Clint. This is such a good short tip video, thanks!
Awesome video, but why using C4D over Blender to make your texture/shaders ?
Isn't Octane available for Blender too ?
He said in another video that it really just comes down to what you're accustomed to using. He said if he had to start all over again, he'd be using blender instead.... but now he's so used to c4d that it's like muscle memory.
@@cryptomikhail5912 Makes sence actually, thank you for the answer :D
This video does not answer the question posed in the title. "How do 3D Artists Achieve Cinematic Renders? " I expect you to explicate this process instead of hand waving, saying "I used a little color correct" e.g. Get out of here with stuff.
I think that big live and then small video that explain fast the creative process about a couple of weeks of study is perfect for the channel :) love the dent to the thermos, looks so real
Thank you! The anisotropic thing now makes sense. Was messing around with it in blender and didn't really know what it was but now it makes perfect sense.
Oh my gosh man, I'm LOVING your videos. Extremely well done and the production quality is on point 👌
Clint, so so good to see you on your channel! Always loved you on corridor but absolutely amazing to see your new stuff!
already great at this, cant wait to see what else you make!
Would love to see more in depth videos on rendering like this, congrats on going full time with your channel man! subscribed :)
Thanks for making these videos, Clint! I really like the new direction of the channel!
You rock dude, I love your content so much, you're so interesting!! Keep up the good work, I'm a fan for sure (I was already from Corridor Crew hehe) xx Oh and the music, combined with your voice and your background, it makes everything so relax, the perfect vibe
Well done Clint! Educational, interesting and awesome! The best things anyone can hope from a video. I hope your channel grows just like corridor digital. Keep up the amazing work!!!
I love this content. Please never stop being who you are, Clint. This is awesome.
I do 3D models for manufacturing purposes aka I use fusion 360 among other CAD CAM softwares. Something I’ve learned and you pointed to was starting with a basic shape then editing it to get your model. Thinking of complicated items as just a few squares and circles helps a bunch. Details are always the last thing done when manufacturing and part same goes for modeling. Keep up the great work Clint!
This is just unreal man I am awed with the effort you put into the videos.
So glad you're focused on your own channel now! Good luck!
I literally know nothing about 3D rendering and VFX composition but I like Clint so I hit subscribe. Always sad seeing your favourite CZcams channel members splitting off but it makes me glad to see you’re still on the platform!!
Thanks for the tuts clint!❤️
Great video Clint and beautiful renders! Thanks for the tips. Might seem like the obvious things to do/remember, but those are what really makes a huge difference. Keep it up bud!
Love this format, keep it up!
Great video, I'm not into modeling stuff or VFX but really appreciate your teachings as a way to relax. Thanks for the content!
This video was amazing to watch, very glad it came up so I know to follow now
best video to date, keep up the excellent content clint
really stoked for this channel
First time in ages that CG fooled me into thinking it was the real thing, love the videos (especially since I'm just trying to get into doing some 3D modelling) keep it up!
Love the channel mate, keep it up!
Yo! SOOOO happy your are doing your thing again! It is so good and thrilling that you're pursuing your own dream and goals. You have my 100% support
this channel is gonna EXPLODE!!!!!
Great video Clint. It was very peaceful!
I was crushed when I saw the thumbnail on CC announcing you were leaving. Glad to see you're keeping the passion burning over here. I'm in my second year studying VFX and design. Although I don't really have the time to submit on any of the challenges due to my assignment load, I'm definitely going to be watching alongside your journey as you develop the channel.
Challenging myself to a weekly project with a hard Sunday deadline is the best thing I ever did for my modeling skills; so big ups for issuing a weekly challenge, I hope you keep that going!
love that you are pursuing your dreams. You go my friend!
I'm so glad to say you are one of the people who made me decide that I want to become a 3D Artist, and I'm glad I have an amazing master to follow! I met you at Corridor, and I'm here to keep following your brilliant job, Clint!
Great production value, chill music. It's practically ASMR modeling. Subscribed!

We support you Clint! Don’t worry about perfection just focus on ur love and passion of creating, and as long as that’s ur focus the vids will turn out awesome, like this one!!
Somehow you’ve taught me how to use what I already know and combine them in just the right way to get these great photorealistic Renders. Keep up the great work! I
Amazing rendering work. Thanks for sharing this and workflow information :) 😉👍
Thanks for the motivation man

Congrats on going full time on your channel. Keep up the good work.
I love this editing style and the music, I also like this shorter videos because I don't always have the time to watch the 20+ min videos, and it's always good to have a little bit of Clint in your day
