Bike seems ideally suited for cruising on the road or even through level woods, but sucketh on the uphill trails. Poor thing was just out of it's comfort zone. It was on it's side so much, makes me glad to have a Toyota 4x4.

A few years back as my brother was getting ready to follow my footsteps and join the Navy we took one last trip together down to the Pryors and saw the wild horses and big horn sheep. One of the most memorable trips of my life, I went out on many of those trails in a big assed dually 2wd camper van. Loved every minute of it.
By the way I saw you guy's are a bunch of 6'ers, I'm a 49'er.
Love all your travels. I can start at the first one and watch them all and start over again. Loving the newest one in south America.
Great series! I used to go hunting with my dad and uncle every year in very similar country and terrain. We drove around in a Jeep and had many 4x4 adventures and misadventures. Thanks for the memories.

Nice work guys. I have traveled on an old KLX300 with bicycle saddlebags. Perfect for the trail, the compromise was on the road. Riding that big BMW up those trails takes skill that I don't have. Nice dedication to hammer it out.

instead of rehashing old videos (which are great...don't get me wrong). maybe in between expeditions, you could give updates on plans, equipment, the vehicles, new possible sponsors or the expeditioners themselves. just a thought. I love this channel and watch videos over and over again because I always notice something I missed before. and I'd love to see more detailed information about everything. kinda like the behind the scenes training before a fight, haha. and I know there's a difference between going behind the scenes and getting too personal, but I think you guys could do it right.

Looking back, you guys definitely should have carried a rack for the bike to be carried in the rear receiver if damaged. That would have also prevented the turn-around at the final hill.

First off want to tell you how much I enjoy your videos! Can't wait until tomorrow! You talk about using Google Earth offline with real time tracking with your GPS unit. I can see how that could be useful in some situations that I have been in where a detailed map of trails, private property and what not is unavailable for my GPS. I have been researching this a bit and have had trouble finding the best way to cache or save the specific area that I want to use offline, mostly because of the amount of zoom detail you want. Did you just zoom to the desired detail level and then scan around the entire area so that it was cached? This seems pointless because the next trip all that would have to be cleared (if you want disk space). And then you would have to go back and do all that over again if you ever wanted to go back to the same area. Any tricks or tips on how you guys have done this would be greatly appreciated.

Just a little black bear lol. I was hunting once and was chased by a mother and 2 cubs. Didn't want to shoot her and luckily she turned 20 feet from me!

Innerlock pneumatic beadlocks. Install them in your rims and never worry about popping a tire bead. Locks both inner and outer, and doesn't look like a beadlock rim to a DOT inspector. www.innerairlock.com/
Cant find ep 3-4 of North America. Never seen but have been a fan and watching the newer stuff for 3 years. I'm possibly just missing it.
Their should be a 'North America' playlist with all of the early episodes or 'Season 0'.

@expeditionOverland I know this is years old but I am curious if you had antivenom given and how many? I am an Oregon park ranger I have heard that antivenom can cost anywhere from 2000 to 5000 per vial (not taking into account insurance) and in the worst instances up to 25 vials used.

Having a dual sport BMW F650GS, i gotta say your biker has the extremely wrong tires for what you all are attempting to do. Get some Continental TKC 80's, thats what i run and have never gotten stuck on any trail EVER!

the mountains in the east don't look anything like the ones in the west. if you could even call them mountains, more like large rolling hills.

Lol you just have to get rid of the bike and get a truck. Not get better at riding. The best rider still can only go as far as the limitations of the bike will let them go.

That series was done last year. Go to their website to get the full season.
South America is in process. Central America was filmed this last season. Stay tuned for a three parts series this fall.

There is nothing I dislike more than fat motorcycles off road. I have ridden the CO Rockies with a group of fat bikes on my DRZ400 and they were obnoxious. Too slow and fat.
Great video, as I enjoy most of your videos; but I think that the rational of seeing a bear and instead of leaving it alone and risking a confrontation with it or it's mother is pretty backwoods ignorant. (dualling banjos in the background) "Let's approach it and if it attacks shoot it" not in this day and age sorry.
