I think it is cool when I get other American's perspectives on visiting other countries. I've been overseas half my career and I've gotten to experience other cultures and see the vast history that is Europe. It is something all should have a chance to see.
"We'll see her in Iceland, which is very cool". Almost a British mastery with the play on words. Even if it was unintentional. Great work gang. I've helped out colleagues who are logistics people for overseas trips and the amount of work. I doff my cap to you.
I live in Northern BC and we have some amazing roads & trails (and some sketchy grades) for sure. But that Troll Road & church had me watching in awe! Thanks for the ride along! 🥾🏔🇨🇦❤️
It's so cool to recognize the beautiful little town "Lom" at 35:55min where i had my first elk burger. Jotunheim was spectacular!!! It was on my overlanding trip through Sweden/Norway last year in June/July with my (surprise) Toyota Hilux truck equipped also with a Alu Cab hardtop and a maggiolina rooftop tent. Keep on doing your expeditions! Always a pleasure to watch. :) Greetings from germany!!!
That Trolll Rd. view at the end made me tear up a bit. It's scenery like that that further solidifies my belief in God. Amazing drone work. The rigs look so good. I need one of those XO slaps.
The Troll Rd was amazing! We are going to Alaska in 2024, then, maybe Norway and beyond. My husband may not let me keep watching you guys-you inspire me too much!
Not sure if it was said already but those ‘sideways fences’ are living fences. They cut the base of the sapling about 80-90% and bend it down/ intertwine it to the nearby ones. Plant can still survive with only that 10% still attached sl It doesn’t die and dry/fall apart. Good for small livestock so they can’t get through and doesn’t hurt anything! And all natural
Great video as always ! that Troll Road was insane ! and how awesome was that Church.... it's crazy how much older and more history Europe has.... loved the history stuff as well. Cheers !
What’s so amazing is that I listened to this while driving. Phone was in my passenger seat. Even just the audio is simply amazing. It alone paints a picture that pulls you in. Amazing job. Now to get off work and watch it
Awesome video as always XO Crew. The Troll Rd is stunning and breath takingly beautiful. Truly you can see God's handed work in far as the eye can see.
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” ~ Mark Twain, The Innocents Abroad/Roughing It
Loving this series! Thank you so much for all you did to make it possible for us to come along. Epic! Mark (& Teresa) Hampstead Maryland Ford Ranger - GFC Camper V2 #1919
Epic views, history, and insight of the nordic alpines so far🍺. No place to be overlanding under prepared. I don’t pretend to know these folks other than through youtube both this channel and “epic family road trip” but im sure they had the time of their lives. With that comes a tremendous responsibility for the team leaders to keep the crew (especially jr crew) safe and on track, so i can appreciate the bit of discipline and organization that comes across in taking on a trip of this magnitude 🍻🍀
I've been blessed enough to do both road trips and overland adventures across Australia, the Middle East, and even Colorado and Utah on the Rimrocker just last year. But Scandinavia looks like a whole new ballgame! and this series is definitely bringing my childhood memories of one ski holiday in Switzerland to the fore, with those stunning mountain views and snowy peaks. Can't wait for Ep 3!
All i can say is "Outstanding!" Clay, how high can you raise the bar? You r a very talented guy who is producing magnificent content for us all. Thank you and your team for such perfection! 👍
I was in Norway and Sweden in 2018 on road trip. It was amazing. But I am sad, that Slovakia, was not on map of EU overland travel. Anyway, you are the best, showing not only story, places but skill. Thank you for your production, absolut best from Slovakia!
Breathing, stunning, mind-blowing, fantastic I could not wait and had to watch this on my home theater large screen it was worth the watch. Wishing u guys all the best and safe journey. 🌍🌎🌏
You guys rock! Loving this series, iv been in Norway for 14 years now and I’m trying to show of the landscapes and wildlife through my channel… but I see I still have a lot to discover, thanks to you guys 😊 I’m looking forward to the next part!
I would really love if you guys did a cost breakdown like after the season of one of your trips for people who would also want to tackle the same. As always amazing videos
I love that you traveled thousands of miles to get to a completely different world out in Scandinavia, all to end up driving behind an American classic trans am getting trailered on the highway at 7:53.
Been on three roadtrips all across Norway, 16 000kms in total. What really surprised me - after a week of driving you feel like you've seen it all, and after the next turn or tunnel there is another "WOW this is amazing" moment.. Plan on returning there many times!
Thank you guys for doing the best representation of Norway on youtube, ever! This was awesome to watch from start to end…👏👏 To bad you didnt get to see the southern mountains of Telemark.. Maybe next time??
Us overlanders all have the same issues. You need the big stuff to start a trip but the small stuff to make it work. Your production is the next level in overland visuals and story telling. Fantastic!!
That's XO at their best. Again. Finally Again. Just spent 2 months in Finland and am very glad to see you travelling Scandinavia. Love the show. Wolfgang, Vienna, Austria
This gets me excited for a motorcycle trip my dad, brother and I are doing this spring through the fjords and western Norway! Hitting both the Trollstigen (troll road) and galdhopiggen as well so exciting to see the experience through XO's eyes! Hope to see you guys around Bozeman when we get back!
I am glad we went to Iceland with 6 kids in a 110 Defender 22 years ago without all these fancy car camping systems. Duffle bags and tents on the roof rack, that was all. Easy to find things, 5 minutes to pitch camp. You seem to have a lot of problems with your fancy trucks.
Simply amazing. I don't think you guys realize how many people out there, including myself, could be doing what you guys are doing. Im so jealous. Great job on the content, your killing it! Keep it coming. Stay safe out there.
This is amazing. Being from Norway I see many familiar places, and even more places I wanna travel in the future. Thank you for taking the trip, and being an inspiration!
Glad to do good work for us to see. Thank you all X Overland team. Good luck to you guys. And hope someday you guys will come to my country sometime. Have a safe trip from Big Fan Thailand
The fencing at 8:30 is called "skigard", traditionally made from smaller timbers not usable elsewhere. The "ski"-part comes from the wood being split lengthwise. Often bound with "vidje", roots twisted into rope-like bindings.
I shipped my overland built F150 from Toronto to Hamburg 2 years ago. It was such an easy process - 2 weeks total and about $2000. Was in customs for about half an hour and then she was free. Been exploring Europe and the Balkans ever since. I had to make an adapter for my stove and BBQ to work with European propane tanks. Only issue I still have is that I now have 2 regulators and the propane doesn't flow as well as it should. I highly recommend an expedition to the Balkans if you get a chance. Much more open and free than the EU. There are no camping laws, so if it fits it sits, and the scenery is amazing. If you have any questions regarding the region I'd be happy to help.
I seem to remember quite a nasty gash, with a machete, on the Mackenzie trail?? Utterly amazing to see this trip....shame you didn't nip into Wales.....but to be honest, you wouldn't be able to set up a wild camp with that many trucks and all off road is basically a couple of miles long or privately owned!!!
Relics of the past worth seeing. Truer words couldn’tve been more truer..!! As you’re pulling onto the highway, van with a trailer and a late 70’s early 80’s Pontiac Trans Am. Not pretty as nature but still American Iron!!!
Those fences are called gärdsgård in Swedish, probably in Norwegian too. It is an old way of building fences with what you got available. Really pretty stuff.
i am commenting before watching, just happy to see you traveling through the best country ever. I moved to norway just because of its looks and stayed for the culture
As a small boy, traveling was difficult for me. I would get very nervous and sick. These days i have been able to overcome anxiety, without medication. Watching your show, brings many people a desire to go where no man or woman has gone before. Our own adventures. peace be your journey
As an EMT, I fully approve of Clay's SheepPR joke at 8:53
Shee PR
I've said it once, and I'll say it again. You guys just keep getting better with every video.
Thank you!
I love that Trollstigen was like an afterthought. People literally drive to Norway just to experience that road :D
6:40 getting on the highway and there’s a trans am on a trailer 😂 love the content y’all put together 🤟🤟
I came here to say this 😂
lol - I had to pause and rewind that! Legit smokey and the bandit!
same thought ;)
I saw it also. Very cool.
I came here to say that! What a find
It boggles my mind how difficult the logistics and on top of that recording all! The cinematography is second to none!
That Church was absolutely amazing 👍👍
I think it is cool when I get other American's perspectives on visiting other countries. I've been overseas half my career and I've gotten to experience other cultures and see the vast history that is Europe. It is something all should have a chance to see.
Campsites (in average weather), break downs and getting getting stuck have been when I've met the best people while overlanding.
"It sure is fun to watch someone else live their life to the fullest." We're watching you, Clay!
"We'll see her in Iceland, which is very cool". Almost a British mastery with the play on words. Even if it was unintentional. Great work gang. I've helped out colleagues who are logistics people for overseas trips and the amount of work. I doff my cap to you.
Super wyprawa🏞️🚙🗺️ 💪👍👊.
Pozdrawiam całą ekipę ✌️.
By the far the BEST thing to watch on CZcams!!😍😍😍
Enjoyed your visit to the church! Glad to have discovered Expedition Overland!
Someone always sneaking around in the night 😂. Blows me away someone always shows up in the middle of nowhere in the dark
I live in Northern BC and we have some amazing roads & trails (and some sketchy grades) for sure. But that Troll Road & church had me watching in awe! Thanks for the ride along! 🥾🏔🇨🇦❤️
Man, I look like a baby right now. I feel like I am there with you. What a dream, and how lucky you are. Great episode.
It's so cool to recognize the beautiful little town "Lom" at 35:55min where i had my first elk burger.

That stave church is truly remarkable....
Sometimes I watch this and I forget that I’m watching CZcams…this should be on Nat Geo! Great job guys and gals!
I am loving this series! Norway has been on my list for a long time.

Norway just got added to bucket list. Great job!!
Yes! Thank you!
Same here for me. Blown away by this country.
Whatever you do, make sure you rent a car and explore yourself. The tours just dont do this gem of a country justice
Us overlanders all have the same issues. You need the big stuff to start a trip but the small stuff to make it work. Your production is the next level in overland visuals and story telling. Fantastic!!
Those grass roofs were crazy
The best. Great adventure, friendship, leadership! Thanks for all the hard and good work your teams does and shares with all of us!

Inspiration overload! This series is certainly a game changer... Congratulations to the team on reaching this phenomenal milestone in overlanding🤝🏼

Did you go 8000 miles?
@@Gabeireland In Iceland? That would be every possible road twice over.
Very nice capture of some of Norway.
Well done! You are opening our eyes
Spectacular!

Ha! I drove much of this route 40 years ago in a 1984 VW Passat with wife and two young boys. Canvas tent, Coleman stove….
Fantastic photography, dialogue, places visited.

So good to see Kurt back at it !
That was fantastic coverage!!! I cannot wait to see the rest of your Nordic series!
The signs of the cross in the old Norwegian church was awesome! 300 years before Marten Luther.
incredible. that church too.
