- The expedition enters the anticipated country of Costa Rica where the guys hope to find some remote trails. Clay gives a tour of the galley system out of the Toyota Tacoma while an amazing dinner is prepared. They just might have found more than they bargained for! Best episode yet. You actually showcased some trails, instead of the off-roading being an afterthought. I accept the reasoning in the video for not hitting trails all the time, it is nice to see the episode focused on the trail and not a border crossing.

Best episode of the season so far! The offroading was a huge plus but this episode got back to the old formula of showcasing the members of XO and your personalities.

I love Kurt. He's so funny and always has a smile on his face, really can tell he'd be a great guy to have on a trip like this to always lighten the mood
+Bruce Wayne I for one can vouch that Kurt is one of the best people you will ever meet. Always helping anyone that needs it. When his shop caught fire a few years back, there were too many people willing to help clean up the rubble. Anyone that knows him can't say enough about how great he is.

"WOOOOH NO!" That's what I caught myself saying out loud! Crazy series this year, and I am so happy to watch it. Unfortunate for all the people who complained about the first couple of episodes in the season and didn't stick around. This episode was awesome, JUST awesome. Thanks for making your passion a reality. It may seem like a vacation to others but it was obviously done over years and years of training and work.

I love the aerial footage, it really helps the scenery stand out; and nicely mixed with the other canera types.

You guys know how to end an episode. Great off road sections, trail clearing, jungle setting, camp locations, use of technical equipment, and getting unusual local access. You probably couldn't pay even the best guide service for this kind of access and experience. Thanks.

Awesome!! I have a soft spot for Costa Rica and their people. I love taking my family there and while not overlanding, we do plenty of traveling from the carribean to pacific. Feels like I'm in Jurassic park!
8k lbs on the Tacoma?!! That's crazy My aev ram comes in at 7800lbs unloaded. I can't imagine having that much weight on a little Tacoma, impressive!
I was just watching this episode and googled the GVWR of a 2013 Taco.. 4650-5500 lbs.. :)
My jaw dropped when they said how much that truck weighed. Just weighed my 3rd gen last weekend @ 4980lbs. They’ve got it LOADED!
This is why you don't listen to the travel snobs who say that Costa Rica is too touristy/expensive/not worth it. Get off the beaten path and you'll experience one of the most beautiful countries in the world w/ the best people. Pura Vida.

Clay, I agree on the all-terrains. I've run both AT's and mud terrains over the same obstacles, in varying and same conditions, in different seasons even, and what you said about having the right tools is spot on. With the right tools a good set of all terrains is all you need. Speaking of being spot on, Kurt, great job on showing how a good spotter is just that, a GOOD spotter. Clear, knowledgeable directions, only one person giving those directions, and having the driver's full attention. Keep it up guys!

Costa is the greatest place that I have had the pleasure of traveling to. Have spent time in Tama and Jaco and they are both amazing. The people, the food, and the scenery are all spectacular! Looking forward to exploring more in the future! Pura Vida mae!

I've wheeled that area a couple of times in the past, not totally sure, but I think that the bridge on minute 27 took care of the steering box in my 99 4runner when I tried to cross it and the bridge broke. Nice to see our stomping grounds in such beautiful footage!
My wife and I honeymooned in some of the same areas that you guys were in Costa Rica! It's awesome to see them again from someone else's point of view! Love the videos keep up the good work!!!

I've done that trail. , great to know you are having great time in Costa Rica,for sure better times than other countries in Central America.
That trail is call "Trocha" not much winching places but its fun ,I sleeped right there where you guys did.
