  • In the second to last episode, all efforts are made to recover the Tacoma, one of the most complex recoveries in Expedition Overland's history. Rain makes the recovery even that more difficult but they are hoping to come out unscathed. #xoverland #overlanding #centralamerica

+WhyJay4X4 Great point! I have a long list of gear that I am picking up over time and will certainly look to the products that I've seen in action first. Not many places to see gear in real world use.
Plus - met the crew at Overland Expo East last year and they were super friendly and talked through all my dumb questions with me. Got some really good feedback on the gear and was impressed with their knowledge and easy going nature. Great ambassadors for their sponsors for sure!

The Yotas shined brilliantly in that red mud. Toyota couldn't have made a better 25minute commercial. This episode was intense, 2nd only to the removal of that little girls tumor. Those slow motion river crossings were EPIC!
Great Episode. Fantastic series. Thanks for sharing

Gentlemen... I would just like to congratulate y'all on a job well done. Nothing better than great friends sharing a trip over a like you all have in season two. And the way y'all work together speaks volumes about the character of your team.
And to add, the two lovely ladies did a hell of a job themselves. What they have accomplished, most people can't even fathom.
    Great work everyone.

Well I have to give it to ya gents, I just watched the 2nd season up to date. As an adventure enthusiast I find incredible joy watching your journey roll on. I am new to the world of road trip over landing as of this year, but as an Alaskan I've experienced the off road life style via dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, 4x4s, etc. my whole life. The adventure south to Patagonia has always been a dream of mine and the only way I want to get there is by driving. That alone makes for a great journey, but you guys have made it an unbearable itch with this channel and what you all are doing. I find your awareness and drive to explore and help, beyond human, almost a primal calling. I have to commend the Team 5 guys, extra-rural medical care is no joke and they handled that beyond the call of duty. I also want to give it up for the wives, those are some badass chica's you have there. Last you've made a believer out of me when it comes to the 4Runner. You guys are rock stars, literally! Safe travels!

My wife and I (and our GSD) took our Xterra on a random offroad trail near Peace River, Alberta. It turned into a quad trail with 2 feet deep mud and greasy wet hills with lots of trees and cliffs. Though it was completely stupid for us to go there alone, we somehow managed to make it out without winching. We had to get out several times and use trees as 'maxtrax', but we made it. Some of the most awesome memories we had. ...as a photographer I'm pissed that I didn't take pictures, but that was because I was too busy not losing our truck in the bush. The best memories are not the easy straight and narrow paths, but conquering the curveballs that life throws us when failure is not an option.

+ExpeditionOverland Great episode! That Tacoma dominated that first hill; absolutely freight trained it hah. I'm looking to purchase a Tacoma soon. Have you guys ever heard of or used "Bubba Rope"? It works exceptionally well for recoveries. It's a kinetic rope; like a big elastic band. The recovery vehicle steps on it and builds some speed, the rope will then tension up and stretch. It'll reach a point where it'll sling shot the stuck vehicle free; in a nice and gentle manner. I bet you guys would find it quite handle for those muddy situations or the snow in your Alaska expedition.
Can't wait to see the next/final episode! Cheers for Canada!

Hindsight is 20/20 but honestly after that slippage, I would've just backed off & waited out the rain. Was not a smart move to get the whole truck on the bridge ESPECIALLY after the unpredictability of traction was demonstrated. Even /w the front/back winched straight, truck could've slipped to either side easy. Not to mention the unpredictability of all the other bridges after the first one. You guys got lucky.

I'm having so much fun watching this! My wife & daughter & I are planning a year+ mixed tarmac & gravel trip around at least North America, hopefully into Central & South America -- we'll make that call as we get more comfortable with life on the road. This is super inspiring.
I was wondering if you have a list of your photo/video gear anywhere? Your production is top-notch and obviously I'm not going to come close to that, but I'd love to at least know the outlines of what you use for a trip like this.

I really think a light mud terrain tire would have been beneficial for this trip

The pickup truck at the end has the "cartel" tint completely blocking the front windshield. Hope it turns out OK.

Did Adrian ever get stuck? You never showed him being helped except over the bridge in the beginning. I know this is "your" show and was interested if he never got stuck because this is his home turf and he knows it better or if you just chose not to show it.
Keep up the awesome and inspiring work.
