IraqVeteran and you Mr.GunsGear, and Sootch and MAC...turned me, who was a hardcore gun control advocate into a proud owner of Remington 700...my first rifle.
@@LooxJJ I'm glad you seen the error in your ways sir
@@piercer4882 It's difficult for me to fully grasp the art of long range rifling yet. But I am learning - and also convinced a friend of mine to join me too. He went all out and even bought 6.5 Ruger PCR too...
Last time i was this early, the Q honey Badger was still a pistol
Ha
it still is
@@Howdy762 I thought the ATF declared it an SBR a couple of days ago...
It still is. Atf doesn't make law.
Abolish your ATF now. The RCMP in Canada play these games, and now all our AR's are reclassified as 'prohibited'. Abolish them now.
Thumbs up for the XCR, very underrated.
I met the guy who designed it. He's friends with my girlfriend's Grandfather, the guy is very passionate about this rifle and his desire for it to be flawless and reliable
I picked mine up last Monday it took almost a year to get because of covid but totally worth it. Best platform I've laid hands on
If the AKM and AR-18 had a baby.
The XCR is gorgeous. Probably the best looking non-AR rifle in the intermediate rifle class.
I have the xcrm. I consider it to be my go to war battle rifle. Built and runs like a tank. Only down side is it is heavy compared to most. But so am I.
Robinson Arms is amazing! Runs beautifully and clean e.g. vs AR15, and is so easy, quick, simple and a delight to maintain , with it's well designed internal logistics. Runs so clean, you feel like you never need to! Also, my XCRM in 308 was dead accurate! With a high power scope, and Hornady ELDX ammo, half minute MOA! And the looks! I had the OD green as well. The only bad part, just banned in Canada. Had to sell, south of the border. Make sure you guys keep your 2nd Amendment!! God's Love, Great America!
I've just discovered this rifle and am glad there's some videos out there to help me justify this purchase.
I’ve been waiting for more people to do reviews on this rifle. I discovered this rifle a while back looking for an ACR. It’s honestly such an underrated and great gun. It’s easy to disassemble and it’s a great shooter, for anyone interested I highly recommend this gun. Imo worth every penny
Just got one in 6.5 Grendel and 18.6" heavy barrel 3 weeks ago. First time out and was consistently hitting a prairie dog size steel target at 500 yds. Wait time for the build was 8 weeks.
Just ordered 2 weeks ago......It is now a 6 month wait.
@@Douglas1ro been waiting almost 9 on mine
@@jordanjeanette7672 They told me Jan-Feb for my M model. Try to come back when you get it and give some details. When I told my gunsmith/FFL I was going to get one he wanted to order it for me at the same price as on line. He is making a profit, but I think he wanted to take a look at it also. I am going to have him bore scope it and check some other stuff like feed ramps. I will message when it comes in.
@@Douglas1ro works for me, can do. My LGS and I have both been in contact (dude got me a hell of a deal, if you want the info I can hook you up) they're having some trouble with barrel chroming from what I've been told. The owner is supposedly reaching out to everyone with a 5+ month wait this week.
@@jordanjeanette7672 That would be great, thanks! I am ok with the wait....at the moment. I want to put an ATACR on it, but they are all sold out.
Have an older XCR. Before the XCR-L designation. R.A. just changed to the new gas port adjustment system. A two piece system that had four normal gas settings plus one small setting for suppressor use. The original gas port was a complicated system the needed a screwdriver and a padded pair of pliers. The gas port on mine is like an adjustment cup that no tools are nessessary. Different from the gas port you see on rifle in the video. I'll stay with the cup adjustment port. Back in 2006 when I got my XCR-L there was no M-loc forearm. Piccatinney rails only. The recoil pad was attached to the lower receiver. Current XCR's have the recoil pad on the bolt. I did upgrade to all the new ambidextrous controls and a now gen-1 FAST stock. The gen-1 FAST stock has has a adjustment button on the underside of the stock. Gen-2 FAST stocks have two squeeze buttons on the right and left sides. The original stock was a swivel that connected on the rear of the lower receiver to an AR buffer tube. You had a choice of an Ace skeleton stock or a Vltor Spec-Ops adjustable stock. Nether was a good as any of the FAST stock.
Regardless of the various types of generations of parts on your XCR. These rifles are great. Such that if there will ever be a SHTF in America. I got the rifle you will see me with when the Chi-Coms invade.
I remember when we could go to the range. Back when ammo was still made.
I've owned my XCR-L over 10 years. The rifle was released to civilians back in 06-07. I got my 1st one in early 09. The ACR/SCAR/BRENs were all Johnny Come Lately's... RobArm also ensured that caliber conversions were available too. This rifle system is completely mission oriented. You can go from long range setup to a CQB mission in a matter of minutes. Plus, go from 5.56 to 7.62X39 or 6.8, or 6.5G.
As a long time XCR-L owner its really gratifying to see RobArm getting some love from the YT gun channels...
Since owning an XCR-L, I've all but given up on the AR platform...
The XCR-L is my goto rifle.
They deserve attention. I hope it translates into more sales.
@@nathanjames4242 So do I... Its a great rifle system. One more option for shooters to look at.
So I should trade my BCM to get this rifle ? 👀
@@fb04boyd25 BCMs are great ARs, but it's an AR. I've been using one version or another AR in my military career, when I took care of my AR it took care of me. I fell in love w/the XCR-L when I shot it. In 5.56 its a softer shooting rifle. When I put a Battlecomp on it... It was like shooting a 22. The 7.62X39 is a little more push but really manageable better than an AK/SKS If you want something reliable low maintenance, you don't have to clean the XCR-L as much as you have to w/an AR. Tune your gas setting to your ammo. XCR-Ls don't like steel cased ammo as much. I was shooting some Tula 5.56 on a hot day in NM w/a pencil thin barrel. I had to use a cleaning rod to pop out a spent casing, it failed to extract. Plus it was a pain to clean that corrosive ammo crap. If you get some under powered ammo adjust your gas setting and it works great. All NATO/Swiss milspec ammo runs just fine thats 5.56. I've forgotten all of the different types of milsurp ammo both 55grn and 62grn I feed my rifle.
7.62X39 I use only brass ammo now. My trigger spring is an older version and I need to update it, so that there is enough force to punch Warsaw Pact steel case ammo. All the newer rifles have a heavier trigger spring that comes standard now. That was one of the updates RobArm did several years ago. My XCR-Ls are so old they have quad rails on the uppers.
That monolithic top rail is awesome, I use Troy Mini IBUS, I had zeroed a set on my rifle. Then I had to exchange them for $$$, my friend at the store kept them for me until I was able to get the $$. After 3 months I got them back. Re-installed at the same location, used 62grn ammo. They were still on target.
I use Vortex Strikefire on a QD LaRue mount. The optic stays zeroed whenever I take the optic off. Now that maybe more LaRue and Vortex more then the rifle. However, when I dial in a caliber and sites they stay dialed in.
So Yes! Get an XCR-L...
Yessssssssss! Finnally. More content o. This please! This platform is the most underrated thing I own both the M and L versions, with all of there conversions. Please do more content on this platform and get more people into it. It’s so much better than the SCAR!!!
I love my XCR-M w/ the 20" barrel. Wish RobArms would bring their PCC's to market soon.
Im waiting for the XCR-P.
FINALLY Robinson getting out there to the gun tubers
I can't say anything about the performance of the weapon but I can say that it is a beautiful rifle
This is the hot stepsister of the Scar
Why are they so expensive like scars though.if they were a little smarter they would not a couple of hundred off that way they can steal some customers from fn mayyyybe
@@joebuddensbeard6615 They rather rip people off man. Machined steel and aluminum costs next to nothing, EXCEPT when we're talking about guns. It pisses me off. It should piss you off too.
Deport 'em all yes I was. My bad
@@joebuddensbeard6615 I had to look at the price... I remember these being as low as $2100cad several years ago.
Just looked, lowest I seen was $3100.
Dayum. Price jumped up a full G.
@Nicholas Rodriguez the scar is ugly lol
This is my dream gun 223 and 6.5 Grendel conversions, once I get back to a point where I have disposable income It will be mine. This gun is perfect in my eyes, Non-reciprocating side charging/forward assist, Piston, Adjustable gas block, Ambi controls, side-folding adjustable stock, Trigger guard bolt release, fast easy caliber conversions, pretty good trigger, accurate smooth shooting, Simple takedown. THEE ONLY FLAW is that the 7.62x39 conversion doesn't take AK Mags, That is the only thing I can find it lacking.
As far as Mags go.... C-Products, ASC, and D&H all have mags available. They have stronger springs then older mags (over 10 years) that has solved the feeding issues. They are 26 rounder, I only load 25 for the same reason I only load 29 on a 5.56 mag. The mag will lock in the mag well on a closed bolt.
Just banned in Canada, by a minority government, without parliament approval.
This used to be one of the most popular firearms in Canada until it got banned this spring. I have a lot of fond memories with the L and M models. :(
And Canada with all that beautiful land. I still can't believe it.
Quick note on barrel profiles:
They only have 2 profile options and the lighter version ISN’T a pencil. It’s closer to a Tavor/X95, medium like profile. The heavy is heavy
I am so glad you did a review on the xcr.I have been waiting on a good and knowledgeable channel to do a through review. I was on the fence before this
I like it, watching the break doing is job, and seeing the vapor trails in the other camera, especially when he was hammering the 8 inch targets at 200.
In my opinion it is the best battle rifle on the market, I knew it 8 years ago lol. For intermediate calibers I would pick ak/ar due to parts but in the 308 league where there are not standards this is the king.
I just seen this rifle at a gun show in Louisville. I had no clue what it was, nice to see a video on it.
@Deport 'em all its been around for 15 years...
I've been looking for rifles over the last month. It started with caliber, moved to rifle. This, as far as I've seen, is beyond other platforms, compared to everything else I've been reviewing. This is my SHTF rifle, it will be chambered in 308 (Because 30.06 doesn't exist for modern arms).
Ohio ordnance HCAR
@@adambeiting4301at least it’s inexpensive 😂
God bless y'all, I know Barry is smiling now! This is just the fun day at the range having fun putting a nice cool rifle through its paces.
Have had mine for a few years, love it. Does not like steel case ammo though. Zero issues with brass ammo. Unlike the SCAR or ACR, robarms does offer caliber conversion kits and multiple barrel lengths.
My gen 1.5 -L 5.56, has had no problem with steel case ammo.
That's all my XCR L in 7.62X39 eats. Have had her over fourteen years.
I just bought my third XCR-L.
That baby is hitting hard!
Excellent review as always. My favorite and one I can never sell is the R/A XCR L in 7.62X39. Have had her over twelve years. Want to order the XCR M .308. Robinson is brilliant. The New FN IWS rifle will have a 3-Lug Bolt. Just like the XCR has been. Designed in 2004 and multi-caliber. PEACE
Been looking at picking up a XCR-M in .308 for my first .308 in my collection. I have .300 Win Mag, 6mm Creed, 6.5 Creed, but no .308 yet and have heard amazing things about these
Great video, as always!
I’m so glad somebody with your following gave this rifle it’s due! Love it! And with 6mm Arc on the horizon! MAAAANNNN YOUR GONNA NEED 1K ON THE RANGE FOR THAT PLINKSTER! But also I wanna thank Chad and you for your content. I know Chad has the hand loads ready for when RobArms releases the barrel!! Lol
Need more of these videos. Love the range reviews. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🎃
I love that you can order the 5.56 in 1/7, 1/8, or 1/9 twist. Their website is awesome, I've built a rifle 3 or 4 times on there but haven't pulled the trigger yet. So many different options make it hard to settle on one configuration.
Just picked mine up, no disappointments. Finish is second to none
Because of the kung-flu I've been waiting over 6 months for mine. I ordered a XCR-L 5.56, 16 inch heavy barrel black with mlok
thanks for doing this video. been following robinson a long time, always liked their products... but stayed with AR’s for parts/accessories/interchangeability with “weapons common to my area” reasons.
... but the accuracy of this gun really makes me like it even more. 😀
-thanks again for doing this vid. 👍
Outstanding work Eric....
Thanks Guys always enjoyable videos, you should make that a part time driving range looks awesome!
All of my scalarworks mounts red dot and lpvo mounts both tighten by hand and are rock solid
Gonna go ahead and say it, I NEED THIS!
When I look at this gun. It reminds me of The Bushmaster ACR 5.56.
I wish The ACR was back in production.
yeah I definitely get that ACR vibe.
the stock looks the same, otherwise very different
@@Sageofthe16
maybe it's just been a while since I've seen an ACR. looks liks a similar overall silhouette.
Get an XCR. Its better than the ACR.
The XCR-L was released before the ACR & SCAR16 plus w/caliber conversions. I've owned an XCR-L for over 10 years.
This made my Friday so much better 😂
Sadly, This magnificent and good rifle was banned in Canada because of the new gun law... 😢😭😢😭
Time to move... 👊🏻

@@MM-qv5lf you dont.know what your talking about theres 800 percent more guns in America now people are scared states like my state are passing laws making it illegal for feds to make unconstitutional laws but thats just middle America the coast are gone

I truly feel that this would have beaten out the scar if it wasn’t for the DQ. Such an excellent rifle
yep, I think they got scammed by FN honestly. Someone with influence made a problem for RobArms. Just my opinion. They would have won easy.
It says they lost due to government corruption right on their website
Very very sweet gun. I'll be buying one as soon as I arrive back in the US. I'll get the XCR-M in .308 and I hope that they have the XCR-P 9mm by that time. Such a sweet gun and AMERICAN made!!

Robinson actually helped design the Scar.
It seems he got a little thrown under the bus considering his design success.
Maybe I looked away but was there any footage of actually working the charging handle?
This is probably my favorite "not an AR" rifle. My dad's got one and it's super sweet. I can't think of a rifle with a better control layout or feature list.

On the wall about this ,
But you comparing with the mdrx accuracy makes this my next one
I somehow feel sorry for robinson armament that they were excluded of the socom/ scar program because of some bereaucratic bs. I think it's a phenomenal rifle and they would have deserved the economical success from supplying it to the military.
Politics suck.
...and corrupt politicians suck some more.
do you find the XCR discharges the casings farther then most rifles ? i find mine flings my brass a good 20 meters. just curious if they all do it, my gas reg isnt very high and ive shot different ammo types. i checked my brass after and it seemed fine so im not sure if its a issue and will slowly damage parts or if its meant to be so vicious cycling rounds.
You gotta talk about the honey badger brace in a video man this is insane!!
Colion just put one up with Q.

Why does everyone make a big deal about 300 meters? Soldiers hit 300 meters like nothing with iron sights to quailify...300 is nothing to brag about..
They hit a giant target at .3km, can be around 10MOA and still pass.
that is a monster.
