    Love this XCR, i think price is the driving factor in the rifle not being more wide spread. People are just fine paying 500.00 to 1000.00 for an AR or AK but will cringe at the sight of a 2000.00 rifle. I think the fact that they are vertically integrated and produce a very high quality rifle are often overlooked when they see $$$$. The quality and features have me sold.....very robust and reliable design!

    • @ln6964
      @ln6964 Před 4 lety +4

      Riiight?! Despite some of the videos where it fails every now and again (I've seen ARs and AKs do the same thing) I am sold on this thing. That side charging handle is awesome. It means I won't have to mortor the damn thing trying to clear a bad jam like I do on my AR. It will be my next rifle. Also, those same people who are good with cheap weapon systems are usually non prior service and only have video games and second or third hand knowledge as experience when it comes to fighting rifles. Those 500 dollar guns are great for range toys, but I would never trust one as a dedicated fighting rifle. The XCR looks like it has the build quality to be a good fighting rifle to take through Armageddon. Don't get me wrong. If a 500 dollar gun is all you've got or can afford, it's better than nothing. But I know guys (a younger friend of mine specifically) who are single and make over 80k a year and complain about expensive gear and talk about how their 500 dollar AK or AR is a good end of the world gun...At times I get a headache due to the sheer stupidity of their words. You buy the best gear you can afford. Because if you ever have to use it, you want it to run like the energizer bunny.

      @@ln6964 Might I add, most negative reviews of the XCR platform are totally misleading. There’s A LOT of user error involved with the hiccups or “fails”, that followed the XCR. Most people that had a negative opinion of the platform, made one of two mistakes (or both)….1. Didn’t adjust the gas system between different rounds, loads, or brands. Some literally forgot that the gas system is fully adjustable (like a FAL) with 8 positions. 2. They didn’t tighten or torque the barrel down to spec after swapping calibers. Not to say there weren’t any lemons out there but, which company hasn’t had that issue? However, Robinson Armament generally has good customer service despite contrary belief. Alex Robinson has/had a reputation of being arrogant and dismissive of complaints because of all the bullshit he’s had to deal with. Whether it was people trying to rag on his platform, attempts to bring his company down, the military fucking him out of a contract, etc.. If the rifle was so shitty, it wouldn’t have been such a success in Canada. Ask yourself, how could a SMALL company like R.A. stay a float since the early 2000’s, if his platform wasn’t legitimate? Also, most people that used the XCR properly and understood what they were getting into, never had an issue. Some people simply can’t step away from their AR-15 or AK-47. Which at the end of the day, is totally fine. I believe everyone should own a standard AR, AK, or both. I just feel it’s wrong to dismiss other options, especially when they’re viable.
      Edit/In Addition:
      Imho, the XCR is one of the best platforms money can buy and is worth every penny spent. The versatility, quality, and ingenuity is too hard to ignore.

    100% agree. I bought my L six years ago and ran it hard with 5.56. Then I SBR’d it in 300 blk, and now run it suppressed most of the time. I’ve run the AR platform as well, but I’ve found the xcr to be more versatile, reliable, and comfortable. It’s nice to see a respected channel giving it props. Alex R. doesn’t play to the media or the crowd very well. The xcr had some growing pains and I don’t think Alex handled himself very well during that time. Ideally the rifle should speak for itself...but.

    I've never been a fan of the AR-15, due to direct gas impingement. I'm ex-British Army and served with the L1A1 (FN-FAL). Due to my age and spinal injuries, I'd prefer a rifle which doesn't kick too much, so I'd choose a XCR-L in 6.5 Grendel, with a 16 inch barrel and a XCR-M in 6.5 Creedmoor with 18 inch barrel. Shame I live in the UK, but by the looks of it and what I've read about it in the past, it deserves to sell well.

      As far as I'm concerned this is not lawful . What Trudeau did was wrong on many different levels . They are using the shooting in Nova Scotia as an excuse to take away our guns . But the guns used in Nova Scotia were illegal guns smuggled into the country from the U.S.A. Taking away our legally bought and owned guns would not have stopped this . Nor would it have stopped any of the shootings in Toronto committed by third world criminals that should have never been aloud into the country in the first place . They are using illegal guns brought in from the U.S .
      Trudeau did this to suck up to the U.N because he wanted a seat on the U.N security council . And it didn't work because they know what a dumb pos he is . The U.N said but the Liberal government is still going ahead with the ban . We have two years to turn them in . It's too "heavy" and expensive for average AR15 fans and it doesn't have military contracts to lure in the rich tactical crowd. It also lacks the rugged charm of the AK. That in my opinion is why it isn't more popular. Seems like a nice rifle though and I hope they do well.

I wish Robinson luck, and I may buy one, one day when I have $2200 burning a whole in my pocket, but I don't see a reason to spend the money. I'm sure thats part of the case with most people as well. You may point to the SCAR or other service rifles that are the same in a lot of respects, which is fair. But the SCAR is a new SOCOM service rifle and performs better than the AR10 in some respects, which is about all it has going for it.

      There is some truth to what you're saying but, to be fair, the XCR's are priced very good. Granted, Robinson Armament is a smaller company that hasn't been around as long as most of the gun manufacturers who have aquired a military contract in the past or present. So I understand why some people would be hesitant based off that factor alone. Personally though, I feel R.A. needs to work on his advertising above everything else. I'm sure posting more videos on CZcams that showcase the reliability of his product would go a long way. Maybe run stress tests like iraqveteran8888 periodically to promote the durability and ruggedness of the XCR's. I feel that would give the awareness needed to aquire a giant customer base and possibly a military contract. Or at least put himself and his company into a position where they can showcase their firearms to the military.

    There's a docu-drama 2A script in here somewhere. Genius but sometimes prickly inventor consults for the US Govt and then goes private and submits his new innovative battle rifle prototype to replace the venerable but hugely successful M-16. Combining the best of the AKs dependability with the AR's simplicity and modularity it's instantly seen as a game changer. But he gets held back on trumped up charges by a DoD bad guy, removing him from the competition and tripling the price of his rifles. Not to be held back he sells direct to honest American civilians trying to become the new Tesla of the gun world. Will he succeed? Are his rifles that good? Stay tuned....

    DOESN'T SEEM LIKE YOU INTERACTED WITH HIM AT ALL, ANYONE WATCHING WOULD THINK HE WAS ADDRESSING A LARGE AUDIENCE NOT JUST YOU. BUT HE'S STILL FASCINATING.

    Please remove the charging handle up front and make it either easily configurable for lefties and rightes or either put it in both sides which in my opinion is better!

      george kontalexis both side charging systems take up more space and add weight. As a forced right handed person I have no problems with the rifle.

      @@MrAngryCanadian dumb🙄 I'll take the extra second faster response time that comes from using the configuration that is natural for me. then an extra fraction of an inch smaller size or an ounce less weight any goddamn day

    Great gun. It needs a dust cover such as the AR. Its not popular because people are like sheep. The one that has the biggest mouth wins most of the time, unfortunately.
