    Thanks for checking out my field strip video on the Robinson Armament XCR-M. This video shows the disassembly and reassembly or your XCR type rifle, and should be all you need to see how to keep it clean and maintained. This is the large frame version of the XCR rifle. It is multi caliber and with a quick change barrel, bolt and mag it can be run in .308, .243 win, .260 rem, and 6.5 creedmoor. Check out my First Person Shooting video of the XCR-M rifle and M96 Stoner 63 clone, as well as the other Gun 101 and Field Strip videos on the Robinson Armament rifles in my collection.
    The XCR is personally my favourite modern semi auto rifle platform. Even though the FN Scar 17 won the SCAR program, I believe this rifle, especially in .308, is superior in its ergonomics and its quick barrel change system.
    The Robinson Armament XCR family of rifles is non-restricted in Canada dependent on barrel length. Models with 18.5"+ barrels are non restricted, and rifles with barrels shorter than that are restricted. Both examples are shown in this video. The long guns are legal to own with a PAL, and the short barrel rifle requires a RPAL. I am properly licensed for these firearms.

    This is such a shame that this gun is not mofe popular in the US and that it is now prohibited in Canada, I kick myself for not buying one in 7.62x39 wen I could! There really isn't any rifle platform in x39 that is optic friendly like this!

    Such an awesome design.
    But what do you think would be the better designs?
    This? A hypothetical 308 ACR or a hypothetical 308 BRN 180?

    Would you check one thing on the rifle? I want to know when you pull the charging handle to the furtherst back (full stroke of the rifle while ciclying) what is the distance from the face of the bolt to the base of the cartridge sitting on the magazine?
    Basically I want to know if they left out plenty of space (time) as the ak to allow the magazine to present the next cartridge in case the magazine spring is worn out.

      The charging handle is non-reciprocating. Plus you can push the charging knob in. The charging bolt knob also works as a forward assist that goes forward and to the rear. Never had a failure to feed nor eject. Depending on the gas setting position the expended brass get thrown out about 18 feet.
      The charging handle knob on the XCR series is not like the AK's charging handle. I say the XCR-L is a much better rifle than the AR. Like the AK there is a long stroke gas piston. The piston rod has a larger diameter that the AK's piston rod.

    This is the coolest 308 rifle ever. But i see no reason in using non-AR-10 lower. Seems pretty much similar and this would make perfect upper.

      most AR 10 lowers dont have a folding stock or ambi controls, only advantage i would see is AR triggers

      Gabriel Zitterspiller I wouldn’t recommend it. You could damage the receiver over time.

    • @gzitterspiller
      @gzitterspiller Před 4 lety +1

      @@armandgun Rewatching the video again I noticed a few things, the screwed thing you see on the receiver is the ejector not the extractor, and on most rifle it is a spring loaded plunger on the face of the bolt.
      The extractor extracts the bullet from the chamber (on this rifle it is also different from the standard, it has a sliding extractor, much like the ones you see on custom actions from BAT).
      The ejector hits the case out of the gun through the window on the receiver.
      I know it must have a mistake and you already know it but there is a lot of people that mix the terms.

    What a joy it would be to be able to shoot this gun anywhere on your own property anytime. I wish that restricted firearms on approved ranges only would be repealed. No use. Not like it’ll stop someone from doing anything bad. But then again, that’s nearly all firearms laws here. Just to make it look like they are doing something about criminals to people who wouldn’t know any better. I was looking into getting a range built on your own property and having t approved by law, but it’s way to much work and money it’s ridiculous. Truly pointless laws, if you’ve got the land and space, why not be able to shoot your firearms on it like in the states. No harm done to anyone.

    I thought the magwell was detachable.

    • @armandgun
      @armandgun  Před 4 lety

      My Username nope. The g36 is one of few designs that makes use of a detachable magwell, which was good because it used proprietary mags. The xcr uses the now widely accepted sr25 pattern mags in their M model, and it has ambi controls that are integrated into the lower. No benefit to swap magwells at this point.

      The type 2 gas system is short stroke, which has more parts.
