Xabi Alonso is proving to be a really good manager, taking teams to their maximum every chance he gets (he got Real Sociedad B promoted to Spanish Second Division for their second time ever). Although, nowadays it seems likely he'll coach Real Madrid if Ancelotti leaves, I want to see him stay at Leverkusen a little longer and take them to new heights.

I still don’t understand why Bayern sacked Naglesmann. He was doing much better than Tuchel is now with arguably a worse team because they didn’t have a world class 9. Bayern have not looked good at any point under Tuchel, even when they won the league last season.

People forget how bad nagelsmann Bundesliga campaign was last season. They had 16 points after 9 games whereas tuchel already has 23 points after 9 games including games against Leverkusen and Leipzig
Both tuchel and nagelsmann were bad. Tuchel is bad on every end of the spectrum, but he uses the bayern academy well, also makes good signings. Problem is his squad is too thin, while nagelsmann was stacked on every position except for a proper 9. In conclusion, nagelsmann played nice offensive football, even with the resources at hand, steamrolled the ucl but lacked in the league, drawing games constantly. Tuchel has been playing even worse football, every win being of individual brilliancy. His DFB pokal, supercup and ucl disasters are beyond reckoning. They barely scraped past Copenhagen and just suffered a historic defeat in the cup

I've been a Leverkusen fan since I first became interested in football and I've always felt that our main problem is that we are great in big games against bayern and such but always make mistakes in smaller games. This season we've actually put together some consistency, hopefully enough to finally dethrone bayern
I, too, am really hopeful this season. It also seems to me like Alonso just brings a certain winner mentality with him automatically, and with Leverkusen having had a really strong performance against Leipzig at the start of the season (who, let's not forget, defeated Bayern 3:0 a week prior!) and then another not awesome but definitely solid game against Bayern I am starting to get optimistic that this team really could manage to win at least something this year.
As a BVB fan, it's hard not to be impressed by what Xabi is doing in Leverkusen. The man is a genius.

As a bundesliga fan all i gotta say is for leverkusen wait until the winter break, they always fall off just before and become meh after it its a habit they've picked up if they can beat that and hold their nerve in semis then we get excited 😂
It was also in 2015 that I started watching and keeping up with Leverkusen more. Coming from a Mexican and Chilean background, I was so happy to see Chicharito and Aranguiz play in Europe. And since then, I’ve always rooted for them to win the league. Hoping it’s this year

i'm here in february, and there definitly going to win the league. When dortmund was at this point last season they had shown signs of inconsistency, leverkusen haven't. they have not lossed a game yet. So lets hope they win

Nordrhein-Westfalen might be the biggest football region in the world. If you take all the attendants from the clubs there and stack them up against London's clubs, i think the difference would not be big. Even a club like RW Essen has 15.000 attendants
You peaked my curiosity which is why I shortly looked through Transfermarkt's attendance numbers for Germany's 1st to 3rd division and even though I knew we have great numbers compared to other countries and leagues but I'm still impressed: the combined average of the 15 total clubs in Nordrhein-Westfalen (5 in 1st div, 3 in 2nd div and 7 in 3rd div) are 419.835 attendees!
If I was more motivated I'd probably actually do the comparison to London's clubs but that'd be annoying and take me way too long since almost no London club seems to actually have London written in their name which is why especially from 2nd division downwards I'd have to look way too many clubs up not having a clue where they're from haha ^^'

Hradecky actually started really well in germany. Mainly because he was one of the best GKs of the league in Frankfurt before moving to Leverkusen.

I am a fan of BMG and Leverkusen, the former as "heritage club", the latter chosen by myself. While it hurts to see one club struggling, it is great to see the other soar at least. I was hesitant with Xabi at first, but I thought he was a very promising trainer that chooses his clubs sensibly. I would never have expected the success he and they had and have so far. And Wirtz is just pure bliss to watch play.
As a Finn I have always gravitated towards Leverkusen in German Football. Sami Hyypiä was their manager like a decade ago and they have Hradecky and a few years ago Pohjanpalo as well.
I'm German and my favourite German club has always been Leverkusen. It started kinda hilariously with nobody in my family being interested in football, then me starting to play Fifa as a kid and often picking Leverkusen because I found their logo with the lions to be cool. xD In German, what is "Neverkusen" in English is "Vizekusen" (meaning vice / runners-up). Doesn't work as well in sounding similar but at least it sounds way more positive than Neverkusen in my opinion, haha.
This season I'm more excited than I've been in a long time, if ever. It just seems like everything has come together with players like Wirtz, Palacios, Tah or Tapsoba playing great seasons, almost every single one of our summer signings - Grimaldo, Xhaka, Hofmann and Boniface - working out even better than expected, and of course Xabi Alonso working excellent as our coach. It's obvious that this team was put together to win trophies and I really, really hope that they succeed. It's just mind-boggling how a team which has often been so good hasn't won a trophy for 30(!) years now and with the very real possibility of basically half the team plus coach leaving after this year they just have to use this opportunity and win at least one title this year!

Everybody in the team is doing well. Special shoutout to Kossounou as well, the man has developed his game to the next level compared to last season. I been at 2 Leverkusen games this season against Leipzig and Union Berlin. In both games he was outstanding. This is insane because he was the fourth-choice CB last season and had interest from the likes of Crystal Palace. A smart move to not have accepted their 30 million loan to buy obligation for sure

As a fan I'm absolutely hoping for it but I just can't imagine it actually happening. The same goes for many of our talented players - mainly Wirtz and Frimpong - it just seems like this season is our golden opportunity and no matter whether the season ends in glory or not, after it half the team is gone. Alonso extending his contract from initially 2024 to 2026 a couple month ago gives me a tad of hope of him staying til 2025 but I sadly can't imagine him staying any longer. :^/

1 doubt I have, is that Bayer feels like last year Arsenal. Team of young stars (Wirtz, Frimpong, Boniface/Saka, Martinelli, Odeogard), has great transfer company, taking more experiences players (Xhaka, Hofmann, Grimaldo/Jesus, Zinchenko, Jorginho) that suits Coaches plan perfectly, and gives fight for biggest team of country (Bayern/ManCity) making even more impressive start, then main favourite. I hope that Bayer can avoid injuries and same problems Arsenal had, when one of their main players (Saliba) got injured. Only that difference can make Vicekusen in Winerkusen

Counting all competitions Frimpong currently stands at 5+7 g/a (3+6 Bundesliga) and Grimaldo at 5+5 g/a (3+4 BuLi). They're both great this season! ;^)

Came here just to give a recommendation: Botafogo had an amazing start to the Brazilian season, and they’ve been leading the Brasileirão for a long time.
However, they’ve been slowly bottling it, and recently, in matchweek 31, they lost to 2nd place Palmeiras, who closed the gap to 3 points (Botafogo were once 11 points ahead). So yeah, keep an eye on them, they might give you more video content (would love to see you talking about brazilian football).
John Textor, who owns the bottom-placed Ligue 1 club Lyon, said that defeat was a total disgrace. Referees literally paid that game to ensure Palmeiras had a chance to mount a huge comeback.
