    As a german, the difference between Bayer Leverkusen and RB/Hoffenheim is that Leverkusen has history and tradition as a "Arbeiterverein", a worker's club. Leverkusen also never skewed the competition in lower leagues, they promoted fairly and without huge budgets. I definetely wish that Leverkusen's members finally get their fair share of the club, but I'd rather have RB and Hoffenheim out of the league before that.

I am glad we still have Hummels and even though people say he's past his prime, the last few weeks have been great because of him. Süle is another problem. Actually when analyzing leverkusens start to last season, it has to be mentioned that from how they played, they were not bad at all. They had more possesion, more shots and a higher xg than most of their opponents even before xabi came in. They lost a lot of games in an unfortunate way, also due to their really young squad. When that trend continued the players self-belief obviously went down and they started to play bad. That‘s when seoane was sacked. But it has to be mentioned that from those stats, xabi already inherrited a reallly good team. The main thing he had to do was instill the belief again in the players. That he did and to this season he also evolved their playing style.

  • @Blizzardfire

  • @Kemloth
    @Kemloth Před 7 měsíci +27

    As a Bayern fan, I'm really delighted about both Leverkusen and Xabi!
    Proper competition in the league can't do any harm, and 'kusen being this exceptionally good makes them a proper threat, creating a fascinating 4(+1) race.
    We have our surprise team of the season so far in the form of Stuttgart (the +1, as they probably won't be able to maintain this level whole season long). BVB is right there with the same amount of points as FCB, although the football they play hasn't convinced me at all. The caffein merchants from Leipzig aren't that far either. It's the most interesting BL start since eternity 😅 And it's not even about Bayern being worse - I'm not entirely satisfied with the performance of the team but it's still the most points in the first 8 matches since I think 2016/7. That time it was easily enough for the 1st spot - now we only get the 3rd spot by goal difference.
    It would be great to see Xabi as Bayern manager sometime in the future, when he gains more experience!

    Love the new editing style! Though if I had to provide any feed-back, I would say it's a bit too "Mr. Beasty" if you can say that haha. Mostly at the beginning with transitions and sfx. Too fast paced for a doc-style video. Love your content as always though, Tinashe❤

    I've always been in love with 3-4-3 (3-4-2-1 fits the bill), as long as you have wingers willing to stride the field and a rock solid CB, the counter attacking possibilities are insane and beautiful to watch.

    Leverkusen never looked doomed for relegation , they just had a horrendous start . They had the asbolute second best squad in the league last season and they just underperformed with it ,what Xabi has done is great , but it's thanks to Rolfes' scouting and squad building even more than Xabi magic

    Great video! I would be more careful about player positions, though: CB, CM and AM are flipped: Tapsoba plays to the left, and so do Xhaka and Wirtz.

    I like love the english term for Leverkusen as Never-kusen. I think this season will be even more surprising than the last one, Leverkusen is back in form, Stuttgart is outperforming almost everyone, Dortmund win their games, Union is quite underperforming. It's going to be a fun season to watch. Ah before I forget great video as always.

    I’m a relatively football fan, only seriously interested in it right before the European season started, and German football has a different feel to me than any of the other leagues. I decided to follow Leverkusen just before the new season started because I heard that Sardar Azmoun (one of my favorite players from before I’d really known about football) was on the team. I was disappointed to find out he had been loaned to Roma for the season, but I decided to just watch Leverkusen anyways because the research I did on them kind of endeared them to me. Really enjoying the season so far, and I have a real knack for following teams right before they do something big from the shadows, and it might shape up that way again

    One of the most underrated football player.

    Hope he stays and creates his own legacy for a while. Talk of him going elsewhere will destroy whats started out so good. It’s time to bring back those long storied careers that start and happen in one place. He and Arteta have a chance to be future greats of the game. Teams like Man Utd and Chelsea, only wish they had the patience or could find a manager and give them time.
