A proper R rated Judge Dredd game would be awesome.
Thats wild i got to the end of playing robo cop the first time and spent almost an hour looking for a good judge dredd game
Yes! Absolutely
They should make one based on the Karl Urban movie.
@@cable7152
Yes and the Sly one as well.
@noahcabrera9870 Did you find one? After i play this game i hope to find a good judge dredd.
“They call him RoboCop, not RoboTherapist.”
You guys had the perfect opportunity to say "RoboCope"
hahahahaha
I smell spin off!
That's pretty good.
People gush about the gameplay but what I'm more impressed about is the detail Treyon put into the set dressing. They made sure that everything looked just like the films. Somewhat futuristic but with the restraints of the time period the films was made. I also like the fact they set it after RoboCop 2 but before RoboCop 3. Really helped fill in the gaps between those 2 films.
Missed opportunity for me is they didn't have the robocop 2 theme on blast during the riot scene in old Detroit
@@Kyddosuperstar It could've been one of those weird licensing issues that prevented them from using it. Like the soundtrack rights are separate from the film rights.
"retrofuturism". it's what Alien: Isolation did: keeping the tech and aesthetics the same as the original
My favorite detail is that its "Detroit" skyline prominently features Reunion Tower, just like it should.
@@Kyddosuperstarhonestly, the rendition they got for Rogue City is as perfectly a fit as can be, at least to me. Gotta listen to the RoboCop 2 theme again though.
"Nice shootin', son. What's your name?"
"... Murphy."
“They call him RoboCop, not RoboTherapist.”
Well, in that case there should be a RoboTherapist.
Could you imagine a cyborg therapist that helps you while throwing out corny one-liners?
Isn't that Baymax?
Ah yes the RoboTherapist and his archnemesis HoboTheRapist
Think thats ChatGPT.
"You have 10 seconds to express your fears and overcome them!"
"Detroid Become Cop" LMFAO 🤣
It basically hands itself on a plate and yet it never occurred to me.
This game is a really solid title that respects the source material. It is a shame more people are not giving it a go.
I have a friend who loved their terminator game, but absolutely hated this one.
@@anthonynonoya4486
That's weird, perhaps they didn't like the movement or lack of crouch mechanic in a robocop game.
@@anthonynonoya4486 I do not know if you friend gave it a chance. The real question is does he love Robocop ?, Because if you love the original movie, then you will love this game.
Was gonna pick it up over the holidays cause it was on sale.I'll keep a eye out for the next sale.
Its on sale in Steam@@JnEricsonx
That part about us never asking you what you want to say hit me right in the feels...
Please say whatever it is you wish to say.
The description of tricking your parents into renting Robocop hit hard. I got my mom to rent it as a 10 year old. She walked out of the room when ED209 killed the guy in the boardroom, which is the scene you showed. Good times.
I did the same when I was 15, but I didn't even realise it was rated R. My mother realised when she kept overhearing every character dropping F-bombs.
The violence itself didn't seem so bad. I was brought up watching Get Smart and people kept being shot, stabbed and poisoned for laughs in nearly every episode... just without any blood.
As a longtime fan of the RoboCop franchise, I really liked Rogue City! It recreated the vibe of the movies perfectly! ^_^
Man, I can’t believe I never noticed how well that Apu clip works for most modern AAA games.
a hidden gem that deserves to be recognized at the Game Awards.
I love how this trailer also serves as a mini Honest Trailer for the RoboCop film duology
I know, right? Rogue City is like spiritual roboCop 3 we never got.
It always felt as if it was meant to be a trilogy. Too bad we never got a third film. I bet it would have kicked just as much ass as the two we got.
@@9tim80 what about a RoboCop story set in the advanced Delta City?
Teyon really redeemed themselves here. Just in time for the game to have it's New Game Plus mode added in!
They did that already with Terminator: Resistance.
@@hemidas But this confirmed that it wasn't a fluke.
Fingers crossed they will make a Rambo game next.
Allow me to correct - a Rambo game that is ACTUALLY GOOD
@@TheSoldierOfFortune924 just based on the Angry Joe Review, I'd have said not in a million years! But after this and Terminator Resistance, I can't imagine anyone better, especially as I think they would pull out all the stops, to truly redeem themselves of their past attempt.
Otherwise, Judge Dredd would be awesome, but I am eager for whatever they bring out next, regardless.
@@chriswihulu he's a man, not a god :)
I got this game, I'm just about finished it, it is THE BEST ROBOCOP game ever made! REALLY makes you feel like you're in the movie! I HIGHLY recommend this game for ANY ROBOCOP fans out there. 👍👍👍
To be fair, best Robocop game ever is not a high bar.
Ya know… I’ve never realised how kissable Robo’s lips were until I watched this video, so thank you for that.
They are very fleshy. Lol.
Who's more kissable, Peter Weller's Robocop or Val Kilmer's Batman ? 😄
Once he mentioned that I couldn't help but not notice them throughout the video wtf developers XD
They need to make "Spaceballs: The Video Game". Ever planet you visit should be in a different gameplay style. An FPS plant, an RPG planet, a platformer planet, etc.
I think I find the most interesting about this game is that there is no recoil from the guns, just like in the movies with RoboCop's shooting them
What I like about this game is that, just like terminator resistance, it only takes the good movies into consideration storywise.
(Warning Spoilers)
Not exactly, the game does end going on into Robocop 3, with the random Japanese company buying out OCP.
Still, the game does a great job bridging the gap between the movies. Showing what happened to the original CEO and making the final boss him in Robocop 2’s body was good thinking on the writer’s part.
@@mrfoxly6833 What I think is interesting is that the storyline also works as a "third movie" if you wanted to view Robo 1, 2, and RC as a trilogy. It does wrap up most of the storylines from the previous two films, but without contradicting the story of Robo 3 for the five fans who care about it.
I understand why some of these retro sequels just ignore disliked entries in a franchise, but it's cool that Teyon found a middle ground where people could be happy with RC regardless of how they feel about Robo 3.
@@jasonblalock4429 Also it would be cool, if they release Gunarm as new weapon. Also android ninjas could be a nice enemy to fight. Maybe also some eastereggs/updates from that RC tv series would also be nice :)
There's only one good RoboCop movie and that's the first one. Second one is a decent popcorn flick but a major stepdown and riddled with plotholes. Third one is well, the third one and genuinely the quality of that film has more in common with this game than the first two films.
The 80s, a time where action movies were made for adults but also marketed toward children.
True+
And that they got Peter Weller to come back and do his voice was epic! I was only disappointed that they didn't sample more of the gun sounds from the movies, like that iconic Auto-9 sound.
Getting this for my dad for his Birthday! my dad likes fps games and COD has declined so I’m getting him this as it would scratch his fps itch.
You are an excellent son.
@@brettbaratheon9776 thanks! I like to get my dad a game for the occasional gift giving events for example his birthday and Christmas!
Damn, you have a cool dad. Doubly so if he's old enough to be a grandad. Always great to hear of older folks embracing gaming.
Exactly what I thought.. they should make a Judge Dredd game!
Wouldn't that literally just be this game but with a slightly squishier protagonist?
@@andrewowens4421 hell yeah.
If Robocob met Judge Dredd, would Robocop deffer to Dredd's authority as a judge?
Dredd:
Robocop: You are in violation of city ordinance 23-167, put down your weapon and surrender.
Dredd: I AM the law!
Robocop: Your move, creep.
This game is the embodiment of "what if we... just gave the people what they want?"
A ridiculous good game. Teyon have redeemed themselves and gone above and beyond. When you're Robocop, stalking through a construction site while the epic theme players as you're blasting mercenary assholes, such a good game.
I was skeptical when someone said it's sorta a RPG but the bit about Robotherapist convinced me.
It's basically a Robocop life sim, tbh.
Missed a slam dunk by not calling Robocop "Stoptimus Crime"
Do Palworld next!!
Teyon is showing folks like GameMill how to do an IP based game.
Not defending GameMill but they're definitely living up to their name. They do Mill out Games. Truly truth in advertising.
Get up, everybody's gonna move their feet.
Get down, everybody's gonna leave their seat.
You gotta lose your mind in Detroit Rock City.
0:37 *"DEEZ* *NUTS!"* - RoboCop (most definitely)
5:13 Now that I'm hyped!
Their Palworld trailer shall be the greatest of all time....
He is a Robert
He is a Cop
He is a Robert Cop
Furniture of Law Enforcement.
Make an Honest Trailer for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Holy crap! A Judge Dredd game would be awesome!
Hell, while we’re at it, have Karl Urban voice the character
They should have gotten the guys that made Dredd 2012 to make the new Robocop movie.
The Tick's battlecry "SSPPOOOOOOOONNN!"
Give these guys a raise godammit.
Palworld should be next
It's not often I buy a newly-released game at full-price, but it was worth it. It's essentially Robocop 2.5 in a gaming format and it is FUCKING AWESOME. Now that there is a New Game + mode, I'll have to play it again so I can get a fully-powered up Robocop!!!
Seriously though, Teyon did a brilliant job of this, it's so fucking 80s, retro-futuristic, so violent and loaded with the biting satire that Paul Verhoeven used for the first Robocop movie. The one-liners withing the dialogue are fantastic; "Can I sign with this?" says Robocop brandishing his Auto-9 and breaking down the door when a private army pretends to be a delivery service and wanting a signature. Always listen to the radio messages as they are sheer comedy genius.
The respect paid to the source material of Robocop by Teyon is one of the key features of this game, you ARE Robocop; you dispense justice either verbally or with lead, you pop motherfuckers heads off with gay abandon; there's actually an upgrade for the Auto-9 where you can INCREASE the gore/blood spatter!
Basically, you walk, talk and act like Robocop, there are moments where you aren't a justice delivering juggernaut, there are quiet moments where you are reminded that Alex Murphy is still there under the visor and his humanity is key to getting the good ending of the game, serving the public trust is just as important as giving criminals lead poisoning and sometimes turning a blind eye/giving a warning can do more good than a punishment.
If you are on the fence about this game, please give it a go, you won't regret it.
Not gonna lie, this and even Terminator are guilty pleasures of mine.
They shouldn’t be guilty pleasures. They along with Baldur’s Gate 3, and Elden Ring should be the standard for fun games because most AAA games seem to have forgotten why video games are called video games
Love love love this game. "Just wade through the carnage like a steam roller made of machine guns" sums it up perfectly.
Robocop Rogue City is a instant classic one of my favorites from 2023
Didn't get any awards though which sucked.
It's funny how the heavy armour of some robots is paired with cables outside the armour . A simple scissor could do the job of a missile
Well, in Robocop 2. Alex Murphy did just that when he faced up evil robo Kane. He jumps on his back and messed up his exposed wires.
@manchesterunitedno7 I am talking about the other experiments shown at the beginning full of wires , without even bullet proof helmets
I did a canon weapon playthrough.
Auto-9 (Robocop, Robocop 2)
.50 Cal (Robocop 2)
Cobra Assault Cannon (Robocop)
A dredd game based on the comic would be damn good
"Dead or alive you're coming with me" would be a good pick-up line for some creeps in Robocops' Detroit.
It's a cracking game and it's true, for the most part you can tank your way through it which is very satisfying.
A Dredd game with the developers deploying the same care towards the aesthetics and world building would be superb (especially if they made it, like this, follow on from either of the Dredd movies).
The game has some fun Easter eggs, not just for Robocop but other 80's movies. My favorite was finding Sweetchuck's Vespa.
Now they just need to make a rated R Robocop vs Judge Dredd video game.
that's an incredibly horrible idea.
Okay, you've had time for your little planning session, now it's really time for you to make a "Palworld" trailer.
Being a tank parttime in Arkham Knight worked so well, Teyon decided to bring it back in full force.
How do we still not have a bully honest game trailer
YES!! LOL, that would be EPIC!
The part I LOVE in every @Honest Game Trailers is (of *course* the EPIC VOICE goes without saying) the STARRING section. I mean honestly those are usually spot on and often the coldest (ok, and at times the kindest) cut of all. I tell you HONESTLY I would rather an Honest Trailer over many many "mainstream" reviews. Love y'all!
Thank you for saying my line at the end!
A Demolition Man game where you could either play the John Spartan story or the Simon Phoenix story !!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Just in time for the NG+
W
This game is the absolute B game budget, gem release of last year. Sometimes it’s fun just to turn your brain off, be entertained and bathe in mindless violence. The superb attention to detail with the source material and the addition of New Game Plus now, just make it that much better! So much fun!Reminds me of the old arcade shooters (I’m dating myself, 😂) with modern graphics and tweaks.
This game is so fun...finished it a couple times
4:55 the blep comes late you can hear the full word lol
Couple things, lol:
1) As far as shooting bad guys in the dong, he did that _one time_ in the movie (that I'm aware of)
Also, 2) Optimus Prime Directive?? Well-played!
3) In your epic voice, please say, "You'd best start believing in ghost stories, Miss Turner. You're in one."
Dodging psych evals is probably the most authentic aspect of policing in this game.
Whoever had the idea to use that Simpsons clip to describe the state of game development today needs a raise. 😂
I love that when someone said dredd I immediately thought of the version with Carl Urban. I hate that you were sick enough to remind us that the 80s version exists.
Give me the chills with the line "Welcome to PlayPaintChill. You just gained honor +2 for following us ! ".
"Yup! TotallYyYyYy fictional..." 🤣 I'm dying. Lol
3:21 The heck, is that Jacket?
I didn't know they had a Hotline Miami reference!
I just found your channel right now im definitely subbing this shi too funny😂😂
I love how you managed to fit in the three seashell joke into a completely unrelated video😂
Either this game will help push a possible/potential film sequel or this maybe this closest thing we'll ever have to a sequel.
Fun Fact: They actually did have a "Judge Dredd" game for the SNES.
Please do an Honest Trailer for Fate/Samurai Remnant.
where's the SIMPSONS HIT & RUN Honest Trailer?
A faithful Demolition Man game would be pretty cool.
RoboCop: Rogue City is really great with Praydog's UEVR mod and 6dof! One thing that I noticed wearing HMD during the cut scenes is RoboCop's height is exaggerated and his body floats above the ground making him seem taller than the model itself. 😂
Make an Honest Trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic
Please say in your epic voice; "That's alright I still got my guitar, look out now!"
I've always wanted a mission based open world Knight Rider game.
I had no idea this existed. I must have it.
Demolition man as a FPS would be intense!
Robocop Rogue City is the perfect weekend game. Fire that **** up on Friday night. Steamroll through the campaign on Saturday. Wrap it up by Sunday night. Then spend the last few hours of the weekend reflecting on all the fun you had and not thinking about how your weekday job sucks the life and joy from your bones.
omg spencer saying what i'm thinking, GIVE ME A DEMOLITION MAN MOVIE
so good, I'm humming the main theme
Really surprised the 'get a towel so a cop can dry off in the shower' side-quest didn't earn a nod
Please say "The last metroid is in captivity. The galaxy is at peace."
Funny enough, Robo doing the mundane police work side quests is like playing Robo if he had the 200+ Prime Directives Juliet Faxx programmed into him,
Robocop: "Your move creep."
It really is funny that movie-based games are doing pretty well now, and video game-based movies are also doing well. There's some weird balance going on there.
You need to do The Day Before
3:45 "building the publics crust".
Please do one for The Survivalists
Ah, the 80's. If you're too young to remember, you'll never understand. 😁😁😁
How dare you! There is only ONE Judge Dredd movie and it doesnt have three sea shells Stallone in it.
An Honest Trailer for Super Robot Wars 30, please.
I'm glad you talked about his plump lips 😂
they decide to use the one line that isn't a "one liner". good work guys
The walking tank part sounds a lot like the power armor in Fallout
Would love to see the honest trailer of Gregory Horror Show (PS2)
Please say "When we find dat enojee soss, we'w find Dogda Wywee"
("When we find that energy source, we'll find Doctor Wily," as performed in Mega Man 8)
Just finished rogue city today. Absolutely awesome game! The last boss fight was a clash of the ages!
Honestly, at first I thought this was a new movie!?! I didn’t see the “game” part of HGT when I hit play! Lmao And then about 10 seconds in I thought the movie was a anime!?! That’s when I had to check!!!
1:36 I’ve heard that in recent years, Detroit has really improved & significantly recovered.
