The last two minutes of the trailer has some of the best writing in any CZcams video ever. Hats off to the whole team
They just resurrected Cracked After Hours / OPCD for a moment
Then this means that you still haven't watched The Cosmonaut Variety Hours ❤
@@manashjyotigautama cosmonaut VH got way to woke for their own good. commenting about how bad hetero relationships are...and marcus is just a contrarian. sorry but it's true. used to love them but their true colors came out when they got popular.
That was just a theory, an honest trailer theory
😂😂
The three sea shell rant is probably my favorite thing this channel has ever produced😂
For sure
Was amazing
Thr waffle house has found its new hostess
Listen sir, I'm going to need you to get ALLLL the way off my back about the 3 Seashells thing...
Jesus, I'm crying right now, that was hilarious!
A long overdue episode
Nice
Super
Fantastic
Hi
Nice
I don't know who wrote the ending bit about the seashells, but that person deserves either a raise, an extra vacation day, or at least a high five in the office. Ideally, one of those weird, swirly contactless high fives from the movie.
Only people who wipe with their hands high five that way. The third theory is actually the truth about how they work. They don't.
Yeah the standards have dropped a fair bit over the years.
@@MeCooperhonest trailer with screen junkies should do broken arrow 1996 movie, The Rambo franchise, Judge Dredd 1995, Commando 1985
I remember watching this movie the first time around, going into it thinking it would be “Just another Stallone movie” and sitting there at the end realising I had just watched a movie that I would still love thirty years later. I could watch this any time. It just totally hits the nail on the head.
Not a movie but a documentary
I think you mean "it totally hits the snail in the shell"
Sadly it's 9 more years to go til we're in 2032 will see the 3 seashells or will this future still be denied?! Also i love the ending rant haha and the laugh of rob Schneider's ( is that the laugh of s man that knows how to use the 3 seashells) i think not lol
I call it Verhoeven-lite. Like the filmmakers watched Robocop and Total Recall and wanted to make their own movie like that. And they nailed it. I love this movie.
Same here! I can watch this over and over again and it'll still be awesome movie!
I love how Denis Leary's character in this movie is just Denis Leary's 1990's stand-up comedy persona.
The Ref is the best movie I've seen him in.
Which was itself lifted from Bill Hicks's stand-up persona.
@@keithsj10 Gotta love 'The Ref.! It is a staple christmas movie for me!
@@keithsj10 I remember seeing a teaser for The Ref before Demolition Man back in October 1993. It was essentially just a Denis Leary rant.
Basically Bill Hicks
That 3 sea shells thing has haunted me since childhood, and that is with out a doubt the greatest theory I have ever heard.
Bravo guys! Whoever thought of that deserves an Oscar in it's own category: Movie Mystery Mega-Mind!
I always assumed it was some sort of bidet system before I even knew what a bidet was. But after watching this I am now assuming it is just a clever macguffin the producers put in just for shits and giggles (pun intended).
I also thought they were bidet controls. There's an interview with Sandra Bullock where she says the same thing, though I don't know whether this is canon or simply her own opinion.
I always found the Character of Phoenix was like the Joker if he prefered direct confrontation to plotting. He is unhinged, funny, unpredictable, but also secretly brilliant, cunning, and chaos incarnate
Definitely my favorite Wesley Snipe's performance after Blade
That seashell rant alone was worth the 5+ year wait for this HT. That final line is perfection.
I very much appreciate that 1/3 of this video’s total time was spent on how the three seashells work. I’ve been trying to figure this out for for nearly 30 years now!
I’ve always assumed they scrape their butts with the shells. I never knew there were so many theories lol
So what's your (leading) theory?
There are writers right now still laughing about how after 30 years ppl are still trying to put meaning to a joke they intentionally put it to do just what it did for THIRTY YEARS lmao
@@mitchellcampbell9242 That sounds like of painful/gross. What happens after they use them? Are they cleaned or replaced?
Han Solo's lucky dice...
"You are fined one credit for a violation of the verbal morality statute" 😂😂 Pure Gold
The fact they kept up the joke throughout the movie makesnit good
I'm fortunate to have a DVD copy of this Masterpiece!
Doesn't beat my original VHS and Laserdisc...
Wesley was at the top of his game with this one.
He was slaying it in this movie, just going wild.
So many good lines too!
You should have seen him in his following movie... he became a very sassy drag queen !
@@Valecto do you mean Jesse's daughter, Ms. Noxema Jackson?
I love it when you can see that actors are just having the time of their lives being evil.
One of the most surprisingly relevant movies in my eyes.
And Idiocracy.
And Eyes Wide Shut
@@svenjansen2134 agreed.
@@Sigilstone17 can't stomach the thought of watching this movie, but I know enough about to agree.
Nah
My only minor complaint, on this otherwise perfect video with the best ending to date, was when you said Spartan went to prison for a crime he did commit. He was blamed for blowing up.a building and getting the hostages killed. Simon blew up the building and later confessed he had already killed the hostages. Spartan knew the hostages were in danger every second they were with Simon. He simply didn't get to them in time. That's not a crime.
Spartan ignored orders by his superiors not to engage, which lead to Phoenix blowing up the building.
@@kabouterwesley83 still, Phoenix admitted that he killed the hostages way before. So yes, Spartan was guilty of some "crime" but not for getting the hostages killed which made him end up in cryo prison.
Soooo.. the hope was to get proof of Simon's murders but because Spartan triggered the building to explode (disobeying the orders) there was no such proof anymore? But........ Then Simon was convited of blowing the building up?
@@HelgaCavoli Convicted for supposedly getting the people in the building killed, not just blowing up the building.
Anything is a crime if the prosecutors think it is a crime. Literally go read. Altruism is dead. Time to wake up my friend. Also like it might be a crime 10 years from now and you best not have facebook proof of your crime. CSI: San Angles isn't real but like it could be. Welcome to the future. My money is on KFC wins.
Demolition Man is a masterpiece, and represents the Internet flawlessly.
We even have the dark underbelly.
@@justin_5631 Pretty sure that it was Nostalgia Critic that did a fun video on Demolition Man where he makes that comparison. I couldn't stop laughing.
This is the greatest honest trailer I've ever seen. The breakdown of the 3 seashells in required viewing for any Demolition Man fan. bravo.
Oh sure, bathroom jokes, truly a sign of genius 🙄
You don't know how to use the three shells? Russian invaders don't know how to use the toilet when they see it in Ukraine. Some drink water of it, others wash hands.
We didn't deserve this Trailer, we NEED IT
Who's we?
Yes
@@josephkingsford8480 Not you
We need to know how the 3 sea shells work!
* needed 😜
It was weird watching this film for the first time in years in 2020. What was once fiction was becoming eerily prophetic.
Where are you living? In modern America, Sylvester Stallone gets shot before he gets off a single roundhouse, gun deaths per year are still measured in the tens-of-thousands, the most you can say about Taco Bell is "it still exists," and our politicians and other public figures are using more profanity than ever.
This movie even predicted Scott Peterson
We need to have a massive worldwide joint viewing of Demolition Man about nine years from now, 2032, write it in your diary, people!
@@borrago Not always. Sometimes sci-fi writers are way off, or they just want to play make-believe. One of the very first authors in the "speculative fiction" genre, Edward Bellamy, predicted that America would be completely socialist by the 1980s.
tumblr vs 4chan...
Love Demolition Man. Just reminds me how much it's becoming a real life thing😆
An absolute blast of a movie. Stallone's best piece in my humble opinion, and so ahead of its time. Dangerously relevant today.
Taco Bell would like to think so.
@@ZlothZloth Or Burger King. Depending on which version.
@@gmfreeman4211 Pizza Hut in the international version.
I prefer him ending the cold war tho
You mean "mumble opinion"?
This movie and Starship Troopers is what got stuck in my heads for years. I remember in the mid 00's, I kept asking my dad what these movies were, like saying "remember that movie where Stallone was frozen?" or "remember that movie where they fight giant insects in space?"
The thing I remember most about the premier of this movie is that it was a sci-fi action movie starring Stallone, it was clearly geared towards a younger audience, but because of the language and now cartoonish violence it got an R-rating and actually saw that theater chains post employees to check ages before entering the theater. It was the first time I'd ever seen a theater employee outside the door to the theater to check age after you had already bought the ticket and entered the place. No sneaking in policy.
That Netflix Executives joke is one of the funniest from these videos in a minute
I guffawed, let me tell you! 😂
I was like: "Damn, they really went there."
But I know, many of us has been thinking exactly that ...
This is one movie that stands up, and you're right; it's the great writing that supports the action. Also, letting everyone on the cast chew the scenery to their heart's content made it really fun.
Everybody in it knew exactly the kind of movie they were making, and overacted just the right amount.
and it was still when they had one-liners galore.
Demolition Man and Last Action Hero are the best two action movies of the 90's.
The Rock and Face Off are awesome.
I remember at work 20 years ago we were talking about this film. A woman who hadn't seen it overheard our conversation and asked about the three sea shells. It was at that point me and my buddy looked at each other and laughed saying "She doesn't know about the three sea shells." She was super pissed off that we never told her. Maybe she has now seen it now. Maybe it has been 20 years and she still doesn't know.
Oh well was fun to reference the film.
'Netflix executives, Jeffrey Dahmer, I love that guy' LMFAO
I was waiting for it 🤣
This is the best performance by Wesley Snipes I've ever seen. He did such a great job.
Blade will forever be his No.1 though.
Go watch coming to america2, pretty funny his character
@@residentidiot9694 I really should. I did enjoy the Coming to America and James Earl Jones in that.
I heard he hated having his hair dyed and got it cut once filming wrapped
He's way better in White Men Can't Jump.
Love this film - it's a real film that can be taken on so many layers. An action, a comedy, a warning of the future heavily influenced by Brave New World. I can watch it again and again and love it everytime.
Demolition man still holds up 100% even to this day.
Holy hell, more Epic Voice Guy movie analysis, please. I didn't know that I needed it!
He probably didn't write it. To be fair to the writer I mean. I don't know either way but it was great.
"When he's sent to cryo prison for a crime he did commit."
But he didn't commit that crime. John Spartan was sentenced for the involuntary manslaughter of 32 bus passengers, but Phoenix later tells him that they were already dead.
Yeah, he was explicitly scanning for life signs, but he didn’t found any. He was not scanning for dead bodies.
This is one of my favorite movies!!!!! Thank you for doing it justice
Thank you for the 3 seashells bit. I feel better about life now. If you could only tackle what Linda Fiorentino (Laurel) was about to say when she asks, “Do you know what I like to do sometimes when it’s really late?”, in Men in Black… I could finally have full closure.
My favourite bit of trivia comes from Demolition Man. Wesley Snipes insisted on doing his own fight scenes, so they let him do the scene and when he left the set they just redid it properly
He's pretty serious about his martial arts that guy, so good.
Some motherucker's are always trying to ice skate uphill...
The seashells bit is goddamn gold!
lol The seashells being waste-dissolving bidet switches does make sense with the movie since there is no society sewage system underground
@@Kentrc11 its a toilet paper brand!
Never would’ve thought this movie would be so freakin prophetic when I first saw it.
One of my favorite movies of all time, followed by a rant about the 3 seashells that tops my favorite Honest Trailers humor of all time. Well played!
Clearly we're going to need a sequel just so they can explain the three seashells.
Oooor during the movie anytime someone is trying to explain how it works the conversation gets abrupted but at the end he finds a manual but the manual turns out to be a children's book written by ChatGPT :D
I know you think that's a good idea, but every single time something is attempted on that scale the absolute best case scenario winds up being a "meh, that explains it but i liked this other idea better" situation.
Leave the shells on the wall, you have no idea where they've been anyway.
No sequels.
Hollywood will just woke it
Not everything needs a sequel. not everything needs a cannon explanation.
The three seashells work due to the properties of midichlorians. Do we really need a sequel to explain that? :- D
The rant about the sea shells is magnificent
That last part on the 3 seashells got me, actually laughing outloud especially at the last line
Thank you. I was going to be pissed if at least 20% of this video wasn’t spent talking about the damn 3 sea shells.
I did not expect that final rant and we have been blessed by the amazing writing and delivery of it. Side note to this day I ask, " what's your boggle citizen " and love the light that comes into the eyes of those who have seen this movie.
Me too! Demolition man is one of my favorites
3 years ago I said "what's your boggle citizen?" To one of my coworkers, he fucking cheered. By far the best reaction I have ever received for that line, it warms my heart to this day
@@TorinR90 take them out for a rat burger and don't ask about the seashells.
Ah yes, an action film that's more relevant now than it ever was back in the 90s!
Especially when there was a viral video of someone in California actually selling Rat Burgers on the side of the road recently.
Nooooo that can't be!?!? Is my sarcasm bleeding through yet?
@@neilprice513 I'd take that over the futures Taco Bell.
@@neilprice513 To be fair, no sane being should live in California now.
OMG your seashell soliloquy makes me so happy. I too have spent too much time thinking about that unsolved mystery, and I am so glad to know I'm not alone. Bravo, Screen Junkies, bravo.
Watched this mid last year for the first time like in 25 years. Absolute trip. Retroactive nostalgia.
Fun fact: A younger Jack Black was also in this flick (in a “blink and you miss it” role).
I have been watching honest trailers for about 2 or 3 years now, and I have to say it's one of the most entertaining Outlets that CZcams has. I think the script and the monologue is great and the voice-over guy is just perfect. Thanks for the many LOLs
I been watching for ten years now
Extra kudos to Jon for the foley work on the ranch line.
The little hostage girl saying "Hey, F*CK you lady!" is my favorite line delivery in the whole movie.
You brought joy-joy fee-fees to many with this one. You have earned the highest of air-fives!
@@chat_up_on_screenjunkies00 Nobody is falling for your deplorably dated scam. I suggest you pause for a refreshingly cool glass of bleach.

This movie came out when I was a child. My friends and I all found the three seashells both fascinating and hilarious, it became an inside joke for us for decades. That last segment really takes me back lol
The writing in the trailer's final two minutes is some of the best you'll ever see on CZcams. Salutations to the entire squad
You guys did one of my favourite childhood films absolute justice ❤️ including a well deserved, appropriately lengthed analysis of those damn three seashells 😂
WESLEY F*****G SNIPES ❤️
I'm sorry. You have been fined one credit.
The ending was spectacular
I thought the Shawshank Redemption reference was going to be the best part of this, and then BAM! You hit me with an absolutely brilliant and hilarious analysis of the three seashells. Well played 👏
This movie is an iconic cinematic masterpiece and every time I watch it I STILL find something new to love about it.
Also...you shell-teased me holding it off til the end. shame
Hard to believe we are a little over 9 years away from this film being in the past.
Going to have to get working on them sewers quick and speedy. Get 'em clean and dry enough that a full scale city can set up down there
And how they got a lot of things right
Totally worth the 30 year wait. Be well.BTW Simon Phoenix is one of my top 5 favorite movie villains of all time.
Your 3 sea shells theories literally made my day!! 😂 I always wondered what that was all about.
Give me the chills with the line "Welcome to PlayPaintChill. You just gained honor +2 for following us ! ".
Blade may be more iconic (and rightfully so) but Simon Phoenix is Snipes' best role ever
Legit the seashells commentary may be the best thing this channel has ever done!
This movie along with Drop Zone gives me all the feels of peak 90’s movies!!!! The soundtrack was so good 😊 Aw. Like tango & cash feels. Everything was just filmed different. It was right before movies got crisper. Idk if that makes sense.
The fan theories segment at the end was the funniest thing to come out of Honest Trailers (both games and movies) in a long time haha
Criminally underrated movie.
How is this movie underrated? It's a cult classic...
My favourite Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes movie.
That seashell rant had me cracking up so much I couldn't breathe
Please Hollywood, do never ever attempt to remake this masterpiece
The Three Shell ending is one of the best segment this channel has had in years!
This started to end and I was annoyed the sea shells and Taco Bell didn't come up... then you guys went all the way. Good work.
So much about that film has come true! Great flick then, great flick now!
Love this film. Saw it in the theater. Wesley Snipes and Russell Crowe-two villains of the 90s who looked like they were having a BLAST.
Back in the late 90s, I bought a ton of used laserdiscs when people were unloading their collections in the move to DVDs. One thing I noticed was that about 50% of used laserdisc lists had a copy of demolition man.
Back in grade school we had a laser disc, the school that is. Thinking back all I remember was being shown the disk itself but not actually watching whatever was on it. Everyone in the class stared in awe at that huge shiny circle.
Now I get the joy of imagining my third grade teacher almost showing us Demolition Man, and that is hilarious
Always loved Schneiders’s double laugh there.
Thank you Honest Trailers. Your theories on the three seashells theory just blew my mind.
Away. Blew my mind away.
One of the Holy Trinity of films that predicted the future.
I waited years for this, thank you so much! The ending was gold.
Makes a great double feature with Last Action Hero
75 years since this AWESOME movie came out and FINALLY the truth about the seashells comes out!! Thanks awesome voiceover guy!

For the entire pandemic lockdown, I would only do the _Demolition Man_ swirly hand greeting with others. It was awesome.
This is some of your best work ever! We need a whole video on the three seashells.
It’s cool and freaky that this movie predicted some of our futures.
