Okay, I definitely never thought that would go that direction in a million years! I mean I am neurodivergent and eat some weird things, but that? I am embarrassed for putting Katsup on Tacos. I mean it wrong, but for some reason my parents started with me as a kid trying to get an autistic child to eat them. I don't eat them with hot sauce either, but I definitely don't add Katsup to them.
I put hot sauce and parmesan cheese on popcorn. Then again I put hot sauce on pretty much everything.
I LOVE ketchup on tacos and in burritos. My stomach can't handle most hot sauces, but I want something in there dangit. lol

I might do something like mix together mayo and a hot sauce so that the mayo "cools down" the hot sauce by diluting it. That way, I get the flavor of the hot sauce, but with less heat so it still has a nice kick to it without putting my mouth in pain.

Can we PLEASE normalize not calling out people doing weird things in public, and instead call out the people who film them, put them online and purposely ridicule them in front of millions of people? The fact that this is normal enough that we don't even question it anymore is WAY more disgusting to me than the way this woman is eating her sausage.
I agree. We have become way too comfortable as a society with publicly shaming people for random weird things they may enjoy that aren't actually harming anyone.
It's not like this is a new thing. My MIL has always told people 'that's weird' if it was something she was not familiar with or didn't like the sound of. She still does it. So did my mother's sisters and my mother.
We just see it more because of social media and video, but it's nothing new for narrow-minded people to be rude. I will say that the weiner-straw is interesting, but I will not be trying it. I prefer good beer.

Bratwurst is basically a better version of the hot dog far as I'm concerned and cooking them in beer is a real, normal thing, so I'd say go for it.
I know beer and wine are used for cooking other things in so go for it. You can probably find some great and interesting recipes online for using beer and wine to cook with.

I think there are versions of this sort of thing that make sense. For example, one might try drinking chocolate milk or coffee through one of those Pepperidge Farm "Pirouette" wafers as a straw. Or one could drink a milkshake through a churro.

A good friend of mine was having problems getting all the protein she needed when she was pregnant. Her doctor suggested whacking a large scoop of chunky peanut butter into tomato soup. Our collective😅 reaction was EWWW, however there was something about the richness of peanut butter and the tanginess of tomato that actually worked.
I mean quite literally the two of the most stereotypical “German foods” is sausage and beer. There is absolutely a precedent for the combo, just not the execution.

-How did the idea for this meal come to mind?
-Were the hot dog and beer purchased with the plan in place to combine them in this fashion, or did the plan come after the purchase?
-If this was the original plan, why were ketchup and mustard applied to the hot dog in the first place, only to be wiped off?
-After the straw is pushed into the hot dog, the hot dog is then wiped into the bun that has the ketchup and mustard again… is this to get beer onto the bun? Or to get more ketchup and mustard onto the dog? If you wanted it on the hot dog, why did you wipe it off?
-If you are going to use the hot dog as a straw, why do the effort to make it into a straw, to then bite it and spill the beer?
-Does the messiness of the consumption bring more joy to the meal?
-Are more germs ingested eating the hot dog this way than the “typical” way given both are eaten with your hands?
-Did the person recording know the person consuming?
-Did the person being recorded consent to being recorded and having their video posted online?
-The first clip looks like the hot dog landed on their pants, was the beer used to “sanitize the hot dog” and that’s where the plan originated?
-Would they choose to repeat this process again?

Meh. I'm not going to food shame. I have mixed some weird foods and/or beverages in my time, and quite enjoyed them, despite the sidelong looks of others. I dislike beer, so I doubt I'd like this, but beer and hot dogs _are_ both savory, and beer is often used to marinate meat...so their flavors are _theoreticallty_ compatible.

It's so much effort. And for such a dubious outcome. I wouldn't put that much effort to turn say a warm chocolate chip cookie into a straw for ice cold milk, never mind an undercooked stadium weiner with watered down beer.
And I was mad at Jimmy because he refused to carry ketchup in his hotdog shop. He absolutely denied that anything but onion and mustard belonged on hotdogs. And he only sold hotdogs. I carried in ketchup packets and applied it in front of him when forced to go to his shop as a kid.
This is something a kid would do, having fun playing with their food. Until an adult pulls them aside and lets them know that’s not something you should be doing in public - or in private. But when it’s a grown-ass adult all you can do is watch and gag.

What? It is an edible straw. You can eat and drink. Sure, it is a bit weird to use a hotdog and a beer. However the core idea is flavoring the inside of the straw while you drink, and then snacking on the straw in between drinks.

I once had a novel beer that had smoked meat flavour in it (I think it was bacon) in a flight of beers and really liked it. I haven’t been able yo get it or remember the name of it since. I’m guessing this might approximate the flavour somewhat.

The sight of it is appalling. With that said, in Sweden we have a delishious canned sausage called 'Bullens Pilsnerkorv', it is a sausage that has been canned with some sort of beer 'marinade'.
