I'm back with my shovel, armed with a few more replays and more brain cells.
First off, we're the therapy friend. And paranoid; checking some personal boxes here, but moving on...
Second, so this guy is VERY centered around senses. Eyes (he described A WHOLE LOT - 'It'll be nice to see you at a different angle,' and 'I've been looking for so long and I don't want to look anymore,' but also constantly compliments our eyes), touch (he expressed how much he wanted have contact - 'I want to touch, I want to feel,'), and ears (he said we listened well and he communicates through the phone - 'You better hear me, you better be listening,' and 'I think you like my voice.').
My guess is (if we see him again) that he'll venture into the other senses, as well. Taste and smell, especially (but that can VERY QUICKLY VEER INTO NSFW TERRITORY).
Either we're paranoid OR we're dealing with an abusive ex... or both. We're double checking locked doors and windows, our curtains are closed and we are hyperaware of strange noises (there were two and he redirected our attention both times)
'You owe me this. [...] I have given you so much over this last year and you don't even know.' What has he done? Has he kept us safe from supernatural influences??
He expresses longing, but he also expresses self-restraint and promised that we would trust him and we would never have to fear him.
'Tell me something. Anything. About you.' HE DOES NOT KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT US even though he said he's known us for a year. So he misses things - which is a totally understandable thing... you can't know everything. Which means he's not infallible.
I'm sure there's something with his desire for respect and politeness (but I also feel like that comes from him not being human... I could be wrong).
Anyway! This comment is long enough, but I see a lot of positive comments about this character, so I'm hoping we'll see him again!

This character voice is definitely in that lower register with a little of the same sleepy rasp as Davey. I hear what you’re hearing. That is something fun with it all being the same voice; hearing other characters layered in with each other but they’re all still so distinct.
My interest is piqued! I'm thinking the caller is magically-abled, since he got into their apartment without doing it the "human" way hence the windows and doors are still locked. I mean for argument's sake, we could consider him to be an unempowered human with great lock-picking skills who closed and locked the door behind him when he snuck in, but my magic detector senses are tingling. When we hear his heavy breathing in their ear, it makes me think he teleported from one room of the apartment to right next to the listener while their eyes were closed and then teleported back to his hiding spot before telling them to open their eyes. I'm also curious about why he didn't want to show himself to the listener, maybe his appearance would be kinda shocking to them -- silver eyes for a vampire, a demon in an inhuman form, etc. He also said he's done so much for them which makes me think of empathy demons (Regulus stay back) like what if he tried to help the listener feel less stressed but they are not his charge but he became infatuated with them that he kept close tabs on them. I'm so invested, I want more
Another random thought: The way he emphasizes how much he wants to "touch" them and imagines what it would "feel" like to be with them reminds me of empathy/demon behavior. Like how Gavin and Avior always remind their lovers about how amazing it feels to be with them not just physically but emotionally since they can both sense and feed off of their emotion so the pleasure and happy feelings are amplified to them since they are d(a)emons, so it feels twice as good. It's like this guy is in a state of awe and wonder (yeah I know he's a creep, just explaining my thoughts here) at the listener and is restraining himself from doing anything even though he wants to. It just gives off the vibe of a creature that has not experience love/romance firsthand.
