I realize the question was rhetorical but I’m Canadian and I have an actual answer to the bat question at 17:30 so now I’m gonna make it everyone else’s problem /lh
Canada does technically have a bat problem in that they’re a primary carrier of rabies. When an infected bat reaches the late stages of the disease, it can no longer hang from trees and spends most of its time on the ground. Curious kids come along, pick the bat up, and get bit and infected themselves. Rabies is treatable in humans but you have to be quick and treatment is often painful.
