    • @randomnickify
      @randomnickify Před 3 měsíci +1

      You are mixing rotaries with runabouts, most of the countries are using rotaries since they take less space - those have different markings. US is using runabouts since they are less confusing. Markings are fine, people are not used to drive through them.

    • @GodmanchesterGoblin
      @GodmanchesterGoblin Před 3 měsíci

      @randomnickify That's quite possible. Since the term rotary as applied to road junctions is a term not normally used where I live, I am not familiar with the distinction. In the UK, they are all roundabouts.

    • @derbagger22
      @derbagger22 Před 3 měsíci +2

      Honestly, that truck was fine. The cammer had just entered the rotary himself and the truck's only real questionable move was driving too slowly. His decision was fine, blinker was good, just needed to get on the throttle a bit more. The cammer being oblivious to the blinker and saying "you can't do that, bro" was wrong. The cammer being a bit slow to see this was as much the problem as the truck...

    2:35 The car signaling waited a really time to make that lane change. The white car was stupid for not slowing down. So he had to make a sudden maneuver to avoid the other car, over corrected and skidded (the road looked a bit slick to me). After the white car was clipped by the trucker (cammer), he should have stayed, but probably took off because he didn't have insurance or something. I supposed I'd say the white car was at fault for failure to yield and failure to maintain control of the car (I think that's a traffic offense, but I'm not sure). This is why you take it easy if the roads are a bit sketchy.

    • @N7Crusader
      @N7Crusader Před 3 měsíci +3

      I'd agree. The white car is more at fault, but the car making the lane change sure took its sweet time making it. If you're going to signal and have the room, get over otherwise don't signal the lane change until you're actually ready to start making it.

  • @patrickvolk7031
    @patrickvolk7031 Před 3 měsíci +9

    As I taught my kids, you need to have a bubble of awareness around your car. Start off just what you're doing, but you know what the cars immediately around you are doing. That bubble should keep increasing, where you're looking at people at cross streets and turn lanes, and you know what they're going to do. Also, if you're going at a much different speed than the cars around you, you should be very concerned. People have the same ideas (i.e. bailing out of a lane). Love the right lane streakers, who act surprised when someone cuts across.
    If you're ok with causing an accident knowing it's not gonna be your fault, you're doing it wrong. Accidents are inconvenient, and should be avoided right or wrong.

  • @Milwaukeeroadfan

    1:15 Idk about you, but I really don't call that 'defensive driving skills'. From what I saw, the cammer literally gunned it through the intersection, all that in an attempt to get around the slower driver. I mean, she should consider herself lucky she didn't strike the guy turning in the opposite direction, because if she did, she would've gotten far worse than a bent frame.
    Moral to the story? Don't try speeding through an intersection like that, even if you think you're gonna make it, or else shit like this could happen.

    I saw my own idiot in a car today on my way home from work -- made me wish I had a dashcam! Idiot signaled to turn right, but then turned left from the right lane instead of using the center turning lane. Almost was rear-ended by car behind them, then almost hit by car coming from opposite direction as they crossed the lanes.

    0:00 cammer could have easily not waited until the last second to brake. truck is still wrong of course, but this did not need to be that close of a call.
    0:30 minor criticism but i'm not sure it'd go well with insurance if you actually did hit them, and they saw you threatening to hit them.

      @LeScratch89 Před 3 měsíci +1

      Oh 100%, if there was a hit and insurance ever saw that the cammer would get 50-50 fault (only because the car in front is very obviously brake-checking, which is illegal as hell)

    Kim; that oncoming driver telegraphed their intent with plenty of time for you to slow down and avoid damage to your keep, by accelerating and trying to cut them off, you have no one to blame but yourself for your damaged wheel. No the other driver shouldn’t have turned with you oncoming, they were in the wrong for that, but by slowing and letting them be a moron, you would have gotten away undamaged.

    0:05 - I love how the cammer can clearly see the vehicle way down the road, but makes no real effort to slow down. It's clear the other truck is just trying to get out of the parking lot, to the street across the road. Maybe not ideal, but I feel it's a perfectly reasonable thing. It looked like the cammer was about to try and pass the vehicle on the left, by going into oncoming traffic. That is just a stupid BS douche move. Have just the smallest ounce of patience.

    1:10 defensive driving would've been not flooring it through that intersection
