I would actually say the Nets because the Jets have had a lot of really good players, even hall of fameres. come through the organization just like the Nets but always find a way to screw it up. The Knicks have had really just one guy in the last 40 years.

man idk why but i still believe in him, idk if it’s because i always root for the underdog but i’ll also never forget his pro day and it really was one of the best showings a qb has ever had. his arm looked absolutely incredible. i know that means nothing if you can barely string a drive together in the nfl but i still think it’s possible he surprises people if he gets a shot again with i believe will happen. he needs to believe in himself before others believe in him.

What Zach Wilson has going for him is that he's young so at worst he can go to a team with a veteran quarterback, sit behind him and learn. Use Geno Smith as inspiration. When he gets a chance again he'll be more mature and much better...if he works hard.
I would say he has a chance to turn it around like that, but the leadership and off the field press is just bad. Needs to work on himself as a person as well as a player

As a Jets fan, its shocking that if you go in the Jets forum groups and read peoples comments theres still many defending Zach for the New England game/press conference and making unlimited excuses for him after the past 2 weeks while simultaneously applying unrealistic standards on Mike White and every other QB. The conversation was pretty one-sided and obvious before, but this should end the 'debate' on whether he's the Jets best QB or not

He basically had 2 good quarters (both in the game against the titans). He was dead last in completion percentage last year as well, he was missing the layup screens, short slants, etc last year as well, he was throwing into double and triple coverage over and over last year as well.

I was always sceptical of Wilson being the #2 draft pick. I followed his career at BYU and he was a great QB for sure, but more like 2nd round caliber.

As a Jet fan I agree Zack is well he worse this team have been struggling in the QB position forever we got Defense but no offense it's a wreck as a fan again, am tired it's ridiculous!
Jets passing offense under Wilson was actually about average. Technically slightly above average. Rushing offense (also determined more by the O-line than the running back) was last in the NFL. In the past two games they averaged 60 yards rushing FOR THE ENTIRE GAME. I would also like to congratulate New Yorkers on their management skills: they pick a scape goat, sacrifice him, and just put in the next guy off the streets. This time it was Mike White with 2 interceptions, 0 touchdowns, QBR of 12.2, RTG of 47, 50% completion rate at only 5.2 yards/attempt. The problem is systemic. And I’m pretty sure I can trace it to management and even ownership (you think a NY owner cares more about winning or profitability?)

The obvious pick was DeVonta Smith. Most of these GMs just pick the guy who they can market the best. It's about making money, not necessarily winning. QBs are the most marketable players and sell out stadiums. No one draft pick is going to make a world a difference anyway, so you could draft a kicker #1 overall and still build an elite team with the right picks elsewhere.

Stephen A often makes sense even though he frequently makes a fool out of himself while making his arguments. The main thing that stands in the way of his credibility (aside from general demagoguery) is his frequent race-baiting. It's not necessarily apparent here, but his track record of blatant race-baiting makes it hard to take anything he says seriously. I don't say that with any anger. I say that with discouragement and some sadness. But I'd agree that Zach Wilson has had adequate support and opportunities and has not made much of them.

Brady, Mahomes, and Rodgers all played major college football at respectable programs. Wilson played at BYU on a team that was superior in every way to the other teams on its Mickey Mouse schedule. That's exactly why he doesn't make decisions quickly; he didn't play in the Big Ten or the SEC and have to deal with pro-caliber pass rushes and future NFL DBs.

Josh Allen, Ben Roethlisberger, Derek Carr, Joe Flacco, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Andy Dalton all went to mid-majors and still had respectable careers or better. The ability to make decisions quickly in football is a talent. Wherever you play, it cannot be taught or trained with better competition. You either have it or you don't.

Fields is obviously much better than Wilson…but as a Jet fan I truly wouldn’t want him either. I want a QB who I feel confident can make all types of throws and one that gives us a good chance on every 3rd down. I don’t think Fields is the answer for that either.

Why are they giving this guy excuses, Bart! Justin Fields does not get these excuses. If Fields had performed this way, he would have run out of New York in a quick minute. I go much further than smith. Zach is done in the league. He honestly isn't even good enough to be a backup. Maybe a 3rd or 4th stringer? But nothing else. It's interesting, because I was calling out his lack of footwork, accuracy, reading of defenses and blitzes, decision making, only a few games into his career. People have made way too many excuses for him simply because he was the 2nd overall pick. The jets fucked up. They went off of the fact that he has a strong arm and had 1 good season with a college team that played no one. Zach is atrocious. He is just not a good football player. That's all there is to it. It's not unwarranted hate.

Jokes on the Jets. Field’s resume was 10x better and he was clearly a better QB. Never made any sense that Wilson got picked 2nd overall. Watched him get beat by several mountain west teams, embarrassed by Utah, Washington, etc. It seemed very clear that he needed way too much time to make reads against even mediocre defenses. 2020 BYU had a great record with one of the worst schedule strengths in the nation and that’s all that Wilson had going for him.
