Jets Head Coach Robert Saleh said after the game that it was not a benching as much as the Jets looking for a spark on offense. Many saw Wilson's BYU tapes and seen that he had great line protection, 4 to 5 seconds to throw. I do not believe I seen any video of him under pressure making great read and then the great throw. His team mates did not make him a team caption which is a major red flag on his ego and/or attitude with his team mates. What did the Jets see in his college career that made him think he is the number two pick? My same old Jets who missed again and again.

It's a very true thing. Even in high school. At quarter back we had a guy who just wasn't it. We never felt like we had a chance with him. Nice arm big tall dude. Not accurate at all. High throws, low balls. It's very frustrating driving the field and he turns it over a bunch. The ones who actually doing well can't even feel good with a loss. 138 yards rushing... But I loss. couldn't even talk glowing about the good rush game because it came in loss.

Coaches are always looking for the diamond in the rough “THE NEXT TOM BRADY, PATRICK MAHOMES, or JOSH ALLEN” but that is not always possible and more often than not it has a lot to do with intangibles than talent. I would have just went with the most talented player or the best available player because when you bust on a Quarterback that high in the draft it sets you back years. The Jets are talented but that QB is not ready to play right now.

I heard something about Zach Wilson that seems pretty true.
The 2020 COVID season at BYU was the best thing to happen to Zach Wilson...but the worst thing for his career.
Meaning, it led to him getting drafted, got paid. But it inflated his draft stock to a degree that was unrealistic for who he actually was. He played a bunch of nobodies in 2020 and made him look better than he really was. Now he got to the league and he can't replicate what he did in 2020
It's true that Zack Wilson has had some struggles at the quarterback position recently. All true but in the NFL off days lose game. Games are important in the NFL. Throw away 2 and you don't make the playoff. It's not like basketball or baseball where you lose 80 games in baseball or 40 games in basketball and you make the playoffs. Off days get coaches fired.

fields was actually number 2 and then people saw his pro day and thought he was the greatest thing out there. nfl scouts get too caught up in the offseason stuff. if justin fields was the jets qb right now the team would be competing with the bills for the division. trey lance is another example of someone that should not have been drafted as highly as he was

Current Jets GM Joe Douglas drafted Machi Becton in stead of Tristan Wirfs or Cee Dee Lamb in 2020. Quenin Williams was drafted before Douglas was hired in 2019. Joe Douglas has had 5 first round picks in the last two seasons. The crowd got excited about Chris Streveler getting yardage because nobody knew the dude was on the roster until he came in. All that energy led to zero points.
