The Jets incorrectly evaluated both Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson. They need to review their evaluation process and how they missed any red flags with either of them.

Trevor Lawrence went before him and is doing fine, Mac Jones not so great this year but was doing fine the years before he showed signs he can be decent at QB needs more growth, Fields even won some games and broke QB rushing record in the NFL yes it’s not passing but he’s showing something he just needs the right OC and 🐻 to be defensive minded again. Zach Wilson hasn’t shown anything nothing, no real good season being benched, Mike White had the team behind him and showed signs of a LEADER!! Zach Wilson ain’t built for this you can see it in his eyes

They also drafted him at #2. So that’s all they have now. But clearly with him he’s just not built for the league yes others have their struggles etc. But this guy doesn’t belong in the NFL at all 😂

I disagree on Darnold. He was set up to fail. His best year was with Jeremy Bates as OC, running the Shanahan offense. Once they brought in Gase, he was doomed. I'll go to my grave saying they should have kept Sam on the final year of his contract and drafted Penne Sewell with the #2 pick. Lafleur ran the same offense that Bates ran(and the same offense Sam is running in Frisco now). He either would have imploded and they could have drafted a qb the following season or he thrived and they walk away w a starting qb and a starting left tackle. There was no downside to keeping Sam in 2020

Zach unfortunately just isn’t cut out to be a starting quarterback. He has the potential and the physical gifts, but mentally he isn’t strong enough. He could serve as a back-up, that’s it. I can’t imagine messing up on two quarterback selections within 3 years, that’s unheard of. Darnold at 3rd in 2018 and Zach at 2 in 2021.

There may be better options at QB, but I think he is capable of being a "game manager" for this offense. The Jets created this problem putting all their chips in on Rodgers. I think more than anything, we have more of a play calling problem. Hackett is one reason Rodgers came, but that dude has been riding his coat tails for many seasons. Tony Romo was calling better plays from the broadcasting booth

Trevor Lawarence should’ve been the guy. And it’s the same story with the Bears too.
