- If you're tired of the scraps from your bandsaw falling off the back side of the table and creating a mess, make a bandsaw cutoff tray. This is easy, inexpensive, and saves a whole lot of time and energy cleaning.

I love that you made this out of cheap ass hard board and zero clamps, instead of how the typical YT Woodworking influencer would have done, with "some leftover African Bubinga from a previous project", and 15 Pony Jergensen parallel clamps.
Good idea. I've been using a rectangle Tupperware container for some time now, and it works too.
Yeah, or just use a paper box.
Great little box! And thanks a lot for the tip on bypassing the trip on the SawStop… I’ve worked with hardboard before and never knew this is a possibility.
Would it be more efficient, economical and ecological to upcyle a biscuit tin or container of desired size and glue some magnets on it?
Not criticising the video btw, as the general tips are invaluable for how to make a box like that should one ever need one.
Nice. That looks like a good way to make little storage bins for tool box drawers.
Just got a band saw & this idea goes straight on the project list.
Great idea Jodi. Also a great tip on oversizing and trimming the bottom on the router table
Love your "Matter of fact" videos and sarcasm when it comes to the obvious. Made a few of your jigs, has improved my skills and time management. Keep em coming. Thanks
Great tip for the bandsaw. Very useful for cutting down dowels to plug holes or splines for miters.
What a great simple idea! Thanks for sharing!
One of those "I need that" moment simple and obvious, so why didn't I think of it? good Idea, one i will follow thanks
Great idea. I love this channel for all these helpful tips!
Wonderful! I’ll give this a try.
Very clever yet so simple. It works ! Thank you..
Great tip Jodie, thanks.
Yep! Like someone else said - "Why didn't I think of that"!!! I do lots of small work and this catch box is perfect. Thanks.
UPDATE: I made this box and added a thin strip above the magnets. When I push the cutoffs, the sawdust drops into the box also. I use the box on my Scroll Saw table too. Thanks again!!!!
I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who uses the table saw as a squaring jig! Finances limit me to a bench top bandsaw, and I keep a cheap plastic container on the table behind the saw to capture the swarf. Your project looks great and effective! It’d be great, though problematic to workout, if you could mount it slightly UNDER the rear of the table to get all the sawdust also. The downside is the bottom of the table, which typically look like a trailer park after a tornado! Thanks for another great video!
Nice idea with a simple build. Thanks.
Super idea - thanks for sharing!
Great idea!
Great idea. Thanks for the info!
I think I will put one under my drill press! Great idea.
Very clever! I count on you for useful tips and tricks and this didn't disappoint!
Great idea
Very easy and cool idea. Thanks Jodi for sharing 👊🏼
Always helpful, Always entertaining. Thanks, and keep 'em coming!
"Why did I not think of that ? " is the question I often ask myself after watching this channel !
Some much excellent content. Thanks for the effort you put into sharing your experience with us.
Good idea!
Superb idea!
Good tip thanks
Great, simple, idea!
Brilliant
Good one. I'll build one today.
I love it; thank you.
very cool idea!
Good idea.
Terrific idea! 👍👍
Kinda brilliant. Wish I'd thought of it.
This is great, I’m going to use my laser and make a box. Great info as always
Nice! Never heard of that board in the UK
man, you have some good ideas!👍
Great idea. I'm doing the same thing, only using a dog food bag. It works great too.
5 gal bucket or pail works good, easyer to dump out to re use scraps or take for fire wood.
nice little box. was thinking for light stuff, an old cigar box may also work (?)
cool idea, but also some really good tips on how to make something cheap fast and easy
Same Scene, Take Twenty-seven.... WHY, oh WHY didn't I ever think of that?!?! Damn, that's cool!!!
The tray part, I knew. But @0:42 using the table for a stable 90deg holder is genius. I'm not sure why I never thought to do that. LOL
Neat idea! Just one thought: if you've got fat magnets, maybe add a horizontal piece of board above the magnets and level with the tray top, to cover the gap and stop smaller stuff falling down between the table and the tray...?
Great idea. I have some cardboard that will work, at least for a while.
I use a cardboard box for a similar tool, with the magnets not glued to it, just holding it to the work table from the inside of the box.
cool
What kind of magnets can I get to do this with a cast aluminum table?
Great idea.
Even better, just buy hardboard that is smooth on both sides for the win.
Wonderful idea, you’ve done it again!!!
Now, could you please give some thought to the Middle East situation?? Lol 😝

My bandsaw is a little sawmill horse, resawing slabs and logs up to 11" thick into nice 8" boards (manageable by 8" jointer). I guess my tray would be 8'-10' long to hold the bark excess...
I have a sawstop what do you suggest as a thin kerf blade
Brand I could use thanks. Great idea and will be using this thank you for sharing
Check out Taylor Tools
Great idea.
I have a question about table saw throat plates. At the back of them there are usually 2 areas on either side if the split. What are these?
Thanks
@Tom Owens The little metal areas? It’s where the anti-kickback pawls rest if you’re using a blade guard that has them.
Thank you. My bad but I've never used a blade guard I'm my 50 years of making furniture.
Really excellent idea, dude! Thanks! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
BTW, I'm an idiot... I just went to the paint store, I need activator to CA glue... And I forgot to buy it. 🙄
Make your own activator- water and baking soda. Can be made in different strengths.
Nice video...learned some new things. I just wish I had a band saw.
Actually... could you do a video on how to maintain a band saw? It's one tool that really intimidates me on purchasing because it seems so complex. I'll check your videos, maybe you already did one.
There’s nothing difficult at all. A continuous blade sits on two wheels that are powered by a motor. Tension is used 2:57 to keep the blade on the wheels as well as blade guides. Very easy to figure out & use. Bandsaw blade “alignment ” is often discussed. Just keep your fingers away from the blade.
The magnets look like ferrite type.

The best upgrade I can make to my bandsaw is to make it run again. lol...
(previous owners' kid was cutting a piece of wood with it and the "stick" of wood ended up binding with the blade and went down into the underside of the table, which I believe caused the drive pulley to get bumped out of alignment)
👍
Or maybe just a bucket on the floor.
CA accelerator = water
Or, just use a cigar box
Even simpler and less expensive…. A cardboard box and duct tape. Voila!!
wasted time
