This is all on Sancho. Geordie saying this is happening a lot in Ten Hags time. This just shows how many egos and toxic players there are in United. I'm an Arsenal fan but I back Ten Hag

I also think it is telling that Ten Hag said he was not training well. Sancho responds that he 'conducted himself very well in training this week'. That sounds like commenting on his own behaviour, not so much his level of training. It feels like he says 'I have not pissed about at training this week'. While Ten Hag just says that what he shows, is not at the expected level. And for Sancho to have responded in this way, even though he has hardly performed for United, I think it says a lot about him having a very skewed self-image.

Honestly, only in England would you see so much time devoted to discussing such a non-topic. Having lived in France and Germany, I assure you, managers say far worse than this in many areas of Europe, and players are expected to get on with it by their fan base.

the difference I think is how the media works in England, they're more... tabloid news type of media, so there's the need for public figure to have a more calculated response because English media can twist a lot of things from non issue into a huge problem.

Ten Hag job is too get the best out of the team and if certain players aren`t up to what he thinks the level should be then Ten Hag should be allowed to call him out, and if Ten Hag does then honestly the player should just shut up and accept it, Clubs aren`t a democracy, it`s a hierachy and Ten Hag is at the top, Sancho and players are on the bottom of that hierachy.

But during pre-season the staff were saying Sancho was happy and training well, looking sharp and that was evident on the pitch even when he came on against wolves he literally changed the game, so what happened between then and now. Well in my opinion, Sancho is unhappy to not be starting and I see his point of view when you watch Antony play awful for 3 games in a row and you are on the bench the whole time I’m sure most people wouldn’t be happy and according to reports most Utd players feel bad for Sancho because they feel he was training well but they don’t like how he has handled the situation.

Even if Sancho was pissed at ten Hag for putting him on blast, it was the tweet that exacerbated the situation. During the international break they had talks and it has been made clear that if Sancho apologises for his reaction then ten Hag would bring him back into the fold. This is a guy who was bought in as the highest paid player, who Ten Hag's tried everything with to support him, and he still lacks the most basic level of professionalism you'd expect in any job, let alone Man Utd star player on 350k a week.
Same issues occurred at City and Dortmund. In fact at Dortmund the manager had to resort to calling him out in public to get a response. That season Sancho went on an incredible run and was on fire in response.

That Spurs fan, confused context with circumstance. The context of the question put to EtH about Sancho, had no correlation to inflaming the overall dire situation at United. Saying that, maybe he is right about the timing of the response but what he hadn't considered, is that questions around Sancho had been circulating way before the Arsenal match and we all wanted an answer. We got it and as a United fan, I am glad we did and I am completely with EtH.

Sancho treatment by ETH is all well and good. However why are certain players untouchable no matter how bad they perform ? Rasford has been terrible, last season he wasn’t any better but fifa fanboys touted his G/A. Now this season he isn’t getting goals even hardcore Rasford fans are questioning him. Another one is Bruno, when will he show up for big games, how come he cannot control the tempo of the game, how is he allowed to do whatever on the field and not get subbed ? Another one is Anthony, before his off the field incident, he performance was terrible, but would ETH drop him ? No. When will fanbase question his tactics, how come we still don’t have style of play. Does anyone know what are we trying to build ?

If Sancho turns the other cheek like a fucking man would, this doesn't happen. This guy trying to excuse retaliation to a simple answered question. Player power is cancer.

Last year ETH took serious flack protecting Sancho. This season when asked to up his input on the training ground that player goes into a sulk and goes straight to social media to whine. The manager decides what is a GOOD training session from a player and given Sancho is on 350k a week it sickens me that people blame ETH for what clearly is player power gone mad at UTD.

The manager can treat his squad of players how he wants (within reason). The job of the player is to shut up and take it on the chin. If you have a real issue with the gaffer, you knock on his office.

You just described a toxic workplace.
A manager has most authority sure, but not sure it’s their job to be a dictator.
You added the caveat that it should be within reason, but ten hag made it public first. Btw I don’t necessarily think sancho is in the right either, but defaulting to manager’s view =right doesn’t sit right with me.

    • @Leo31291
      @Leo31291 Před 7 měsíci

@jonathanmarkham1998 You're making a mountain out of a mole hill. All Ten Hag said was "on his performance on training we didn't select him" "You have to reach the level every day at Manchester United. You can make choices in the front line, so in this game he wasn't selected". Ten Hag didn't corner him in the dressing room, surrounded by the rest of the players and bully him. He just said what he said. Are we really getting to the stage where players can't take constructive criticism. What a snowflake. Take it on the chin and move on. If you're going to question authority or talk back to authority, expect to be pushed back. It happens in every walk of life.

ETH doesnt know how to deal with players he does it indirectly. he will leave a good player on the bench and to piss them he’ll ask them to come on the 85th like he did it with a Ajax player and Ronaldo.
United gave no reason to why Sancho wasn’t in the squad like they normally do for example rashford being late and placed on the bench for punishment so ETH planned it. Questioning a player’s touch isn’t the same thing.

Sancho is in the wrong, but a good manager would handle this in a smarter way. Just say “that’s between me and Jadon” or whatever, so you dont start a fuss.

Stop comparing Eth with Pep and Fergie please. What has ETH achieved? Respect is earned never given. Manager or not you have to prove yourself as much as the players have to. People talking about jobs and employee. You think a new boss comes to your job and starts to question your attitude when he hasn’t even proven himself? Sancho is not the problem. No system, no style of play, no tactics. No one will succeed here.
