Kompany should stay away from Spurs at least for the time being. Learn from Lampard’s mistakes and move slowly. Arteta is an exception because he was given the time to learn, fail a little, clean house and start fresh and I don’t think teams like Chelsea or Spurs will give that kind of time.

No need for him to be afraid of managing Spurs! It's a good stepping stone. If he fails, all he has to say is "Well, it's only Tottenham!" It's a good time for him to go there, when expectations are low. If Spurs are in the ECL then it's a good chance for them to win their first trophy in over 15 years, he'll be a hero!
@@psaddict4029 don’t disagree and not to discredit him completely I just think it’s premature to give him so much credit because this is the first year they got success so we have to see more because until then he’s no more successful than Poch, slightly more than Mou or Conte with spurs (but no where near their Chelsea times)
@@nonder92 I think that’s completely unfair to say they bottled it to a machine. They were drawing and dropping points to inferior opponents going into that matchup. At that point it was obvious city would just overtake them.

I think Gerrard is a tell tale cautionary tale for these managers. He should have stayed at Rangers, defended his title, gone for the domestic cups and cut his teeth in the Champions League. If he came out of that with a second title, maybe a cup and top level experience he potentially gets an even better job than he did. Even if he didn’t, he leaves with vastly more experience.

Theres richarlison, ndombele, bergwijn all players that were bought and underperformed and gave little to no impact.
Their biggest mistake was letting go of poch when players that were negative to the team got him sacked and haven’t had a direction since. If i was a tottenham fan i would be livid to see him go across town with an abundance of backing and time.
After the disasters that have been Potter, lampard and gerrard, kompany would think thrice before stepping up that too at spurs of all places lmao

One thing you’ll learn as a football fan is, when you win big the aftermath is always how bad the losing team was and never how good the winning team is. The two times Liverpool ruined united in recent years I barely saw any credit going to pool and neither is Newcastle for the spurs result.

Kompany should do at least one season in the Prem before he leaves Burnley. He has everything to gain by staying at Burnley for one season. If he wants to go to a club like tottenham after that, fair enough. If he can keep Burnley up after a dominant championship season, that makes him a significantly better managerial prospect. There's still more to gain for Kompany at Burnley.
Why is Kompany eligible for the Tottenham job but Dyche isn’t?
@@finfog4590 I never said that Dyche isn't eligible for it. Kompany has a better chance because he's already secured a title and promotion for Burnley, he's guaranteed premier league management next season, which is more than can be said for Dyche at the minute.

Top 4 means everything to Newcastle and their fans, it means nothing to the spurs players who are stealing a living and happy to collect a paycheck, because they know they’ll never get sold. If im Tottenham i sell Kane to Man Utd, and i get that deal done before the end of the season. Whats the point in selling him to Bayern. Man U will still buy a top striker, possibly one Tottenham could buy to replace Kane, and you have 20m less in the bank to reinvest in the squad. Get him out, get a manager in who knows hes gone and still wants the project. Give him the transfer kitty, free reign to refresh the squad however he likes, but get a manager who has a philosophy to build around. It will take a few seasons, some players who should already be gone will stay stick around and you'll slowly have to get them out of the club. But much like Arsenal it will come good and, with the stadium, Tottenham will be a much more attractive club by the end, capable of staying at that level. Hang on to Kane, do nothing, and eventually the fall will be even greater. Either way they finish 8th next season, might as well be while building something instead of being a club on life support

i’d actually say £100m is the higher end of the scale for Kane. yes he’s a guaranteed 30 goals a season and he’s high value but with just over a year left on his deal that value is falling by the day, regardless of what his performances are like.

All I was trying to say is that you stated it like it could never happen even though it already has. Furthermore for this SPECIFIC example I think it’s was correct they were refunded. Spurs tickets are the most expensive in the league and it costs a lot of money to travel, and that was a clear example of unprofessionalism from those players. Fans pay to support the team maybe sometimes it’s not a bad thing for the team to pay to support the fans.
