Based on the amount of money spent, they should get AT LEAST Top 4.
Based on team quality and depth, I don't think they are a Top 4 team.
That's the problem, how do you spend 1 billion euros and still don't have a proven or close to world class striker, left winger and goalkeeper. Just poor squad building, all youth, way too many new players. They need to stop buying and start building. Big difference there.

I think the biggest problem at Chelsea is they (the owners) have turned the squad over too quickly and only have James, Chillwell, and Silva left as leaders.
They sold or lost 10 seasoned premiere league players like Cesar, Mount, Loftus Cheek, Kante, Kovacic. I just worry that the decisions made in recruitment could have a negative impact on the dynamics of the team. Elite performance is non-linear. It's extremely nuanced and the risk is higher with younger players.

Dont understand the 100% profit logic when you are paying them a wage, Most of these youngsters you pay a wage, pay millions on each youth player on tutoring, courses, 1st class travel and accomodation every single week for potentially years through the u15s all the way upto u21s, expenses, they contribute absolutely nothing, you sell them for £1-5mil even sometimes £10mil after 5-10 years of development!, how much do you think you've realisticaly profited on that asset? Nothing, The only clubs that profit from youth development are the lesser clubs (feeder clubs) because they dont have the expenses on youth development top clubs do, Wrexham can put a kid through the academy for a few hundred pound a year, Premier inns, public buses and a laundry lady.
Its like the mount argument, Chelsea saying 100% profit, How? If you get given a car for free, You spend £2000 on fixing it, And sell it for £1000....You havnt profited £1000 Just because you got it for free. Its such a dumb argument.

When you spend a billion dollars on players, you don’t get the excuse of their young , doku was getting slagged off after 45 minutes, Chelsea aren’t special

Making money on players isn’t what qualifies success. We are football clubs, I understand the ladder but clubs like Chelsea shouldn’t be investing in players for profit

The Chelsea fans show patience while hypothetically mentioning a finish between 6-8 and they get buried because of the money spent. In the same breathe, they're getting buried for being arrogant and impatient. So, which is it?

Yeah most of The players sold, needed to go either due to quality or mentality. Problem is we have spent Way to much on unproven players. And now were stuck with The guys for The next 5-8 years.
Yes its early days, and they and Pochettino need time. But The rot needs to stop, NOW.
Dont know what to feel other than Nostalgia, But any trygg to Hazard joining?

Controversial opinion but Boehly isn't the issue. If you actually discard the pandemic CL win Chelsea have been terrible since 2017 when Conte left. Sarri, Lampard, Tuchel, Potter, Lampard it's rinse and repeat. Let's not forget roman spunked a load of money on average players too before Boehly showed up. There's deep problems at that club from top to bottom that have rotted away the last 6 years.

Talking points around Chels always devolve into you have to win now cos you spent lots of money, despite rivals agreeing the team is bad and poor for whatever reason. Same rivals saying all this well then say Chels fans are not patient. Rivals fans don’t believe what they’re saying cos if they did they wouldn’t jump to well you spent lots and you have to win

Thats the thing with Chelsea; no matter how much they point at the fact that they're players are young and need time...a billion has been spent. Im sorry but thats always going to hang over their heads and expectations are going to be high.

The thing is that oppo fans can cry all they like about a billion. It doesn't make any difference to Todd Boelhy. Infact I am not sure even Chelsea fans booing makes a difference either.
If Poch can get to top6 or maybe even 7th, Boelhy will persist with him.
We all saw how long a rope he cut to Potter.

So Chelsea basically has Brighton’s transfer policy as far as the age of prospects they want but instead of doing intense scouting and paying a small fee for these young players they will buy them for 80-120 million each? That sounds like a horrible transfer policy lol.

    • @goldstoneghost2861

Err, Dahoud is 27 and Milner is 37. Brighton have an amazing mixture of experience and youth. Every ‘team’ needs leaders and experience on the pitch, Chelsea got rid of the ‘experience’ to reduce the wage bill and went all in on expensive ‘future’, forgetting about the ‘now’ and the ‘team’
