With Gallagher it's not just about his current performance levels, it's about his rate of progression. If he continues to progress and rediscovers his goalscoring (which I would not bet against). OMG what a player he will be for Chelsea AND England.

Secondly, United haven't renewed Lindelof's deal because they "like what he's about" or because he works hard like Gallagher. The extension was nothing more than protecting an investment. It gives United slightly more lattitude when selling him in the summer. He's an appalling defender and you won't find many United fans that think he's some kind of paragon of hard work that we must keep at all costs.

I think the conversation needs to moved on from Todd Bohley making the decisions. Multiple reports suggest he has taken a step back from day to day basis and the sporting decisions is up to the sporting directors. If Connor is sold, it is the sporting directors that need to be spoken about, as well as the business done in the summer. It was them 2 clowns who decided go wait until the last day in the transfer window to pay up for Caicedo

Why would it be bait? There are people like you who think he's immense, and there are others who doubt how good he really is. Can you imagine Pep Guardiola making a move for him? He'd be good enough as a footballer to play in Guardiola's City? He's bang average compared to the elite players. Having great energy and running through brick walls for the shirt are admirable qualities, but you can find those guys down at your local pub teams (Dave, Steve, and Paul). It's all about where Chelsea want to be. Do you want to be a club where Connor Gallagher is your best midfield footballer, or are you aiming for higher than that?
I think Gallagher would be a great squad player for you, should you decide to advance and join the elite teams competing for trophies again. But you shouldnt be relying on a player like Connor Gallagher to be the main man, pulling the strings. He just hasnt got it. So if Bohly has decided, for financial reasons, that it's time for him to go, he should go elsewhere. Spurs would be a fantastic move.

I think what you guys are missing about Boehly isn't that he's necessarily an idiot, it's that his experience is in a completely different sport - baseball. Having watched baseball for years, and played a number of baseball sims, the trick to rebuilding a team is go young, lose for a season or two but get in young players on the cheap that can grow together and when they all hit their peak at the same time, you're unstoppable. Which works mostly well in baseball - see the 2016 Cubs as a perfect example. What Boehly still hasn't gotten is that football is not even remotely like baseball. Players mature at different rates and it's rare that you get 4-5 position players reaching their peak at the same age in the same year. Then, only when you have to pay them, do you sign them to long-term contracts like Ohtani's. Also, without draft picks and arbitration, you don't get those young players for peanuts unless you sign them to insanely long contracts like the deals Mudryk got. The threat of relegation and the lack of the cash cow that is European football is also a huge difference, putting more emphasis on success on the field in balancing the books. American sports leagues without those things are guaranteed revenue generators that you can't always count on in European football. Maybe it works out in 3 years for Chelsea, but if they get hit with FFP penalties or get relegated, there's enough issues with how he's built the squad that it could ruin Chelsea. I do agree though that selling Gallagher would be mental.

If you get 50-60 for Gallagher, then sell him. For that you can bring in 2 world class players if you split it for 5 years. He would be perfect for Newcastle or Tottenham. Chelsea isn't a mid table team because Gallagher is our best player, Chelsea is a mid table team because the likes of Enzo and Caicedo haven't lived up to expectations that is why. The worst performances this season was against Manchester United a team that doesn't press effectively that lacks intensity destroyed us and one notable absence was Gallagher. Gallagher is mid table but at the moment, despite spending 220 million, Enzo and Caicedo haven't produced as advertised

The only reason we are midtable is because we can’t finish (we are second in the league for xG) and we have had the most injuries of any club in the league (8-12 players out for every game this season).

His performances are just average which wouldn't be bad were it not the fact that he is the English record transfer and I know the price tag isn't his fault but I expected more and Enzo hasn't been injured a lot actually he went out against Newcastle in the Carabao cup. Doku is very one dimensional. Palmer looks dangerous every time he is on the ball, so hard to get the ball off and his positioning is unreal. Doku is a hamstring away from being irrelevant if he doesn't add more to his game
