Hi, been a fan for years. I have a very good question for you. I’m eating those miracles noodles made from glucomannan omad. It’s been 6 days & I’m in large ketosis. I’m not spiking insulin so my question is. If I’m only having this & staying in full ketosis, am I missing other components of a regular fast? Or is this close to the same? I couldn’t find much info on this & thought you would know.
I'm an Uber driver and I was 3.5 days into a fast when my passangers wanted to stop at In N Out. They offered to buy my a burger. I was so tempted to take the free food, break my fast, get a protein style burger and keep it keto. I had every reason to justify doing it. But I resisted. They ate the food in my car too. It smelled so good
Proud of you!
Awesome 💪
Way to go brother.
Good job man I am proud of you😁

another japanese scientist proved autophagy and won in 2019 I think. I hope Dr Fung wins too! He is an angel
He never replies, but this guys is good!
Good question, Nobel award has certain criteria s. when people meet those are awarded.
Why? Because the big pharmaceutical companies want to push more pills, ‘treatments‘ and vaccines. If people are too healthy, then they just have to invent a Plandemic.
Because the Nobel prize is so political now. Otherwise how would Al Gore get it for a stupid film. That’s not a discovery.
Oh my gosh let me tell you day three of a water fast is like the movie limitless. I can remember phone numbers from 25 years ago. Colors are brighter. I can smell everything I can see better and I can recall anything. It is incredible.

Same for me. Only downside seems to be if there’s anyone near me I talk at hyper speed on any topic. Weirds ppl out. So now I consciously try to lean out of conversations and listen more just to keep things calm.

I started something similar about 2 months ago. Lost about 12 kgs (25 pounds). I feel soooo much better!
`Six months ago today I first watched Dr. Fung's videos. I was a 72 year old fat guy on insulin and metformin and three cholesterol drugs and other meds. Starting at 265 lbs. To add to my last comment I'm a 57 year old man 5' 10 1/2" who started intermittent fasting on August 27, 2020 weight of 310lbs. I have lost 113lbs so far intermittent fasting. I was a heavy smoker and drinker (Beer and whiskey). I ate fast food daily. Was on many psychological medications. My BP was 200/106. I used a CPAP machine for many years. Today May 15, 2021 my weight is 197lbs I no longer smoke or drink. Or take any prescription drugs! Zero!!! My BP is 117/74. And I no longer need my CPAP machine. And my blood panels are perfect. I still would like to lose 20-30 more pounds and stay at that weight for the rest of my life. All in all it's been a very exciting and long 8 and a half months. But I have learned so much about fasting and my health. And became a much healthier and happier person. I've gone from size 44 pants to size 32. And from 4X shirts to large (medium soon).
Wow Kelly. That is truely inspiring. Congratulations. I just started this week and so far so good. Thanks for sharing your journey and inspiring others.
Your weight is good enough for your height
Holly, unbelievable, congratulations!
What a great success story , I’m just beginning
Would like to lose about 15 lbs , off cigarettes about 6 weeks, not a easy battle, but with Gods help, a successful one
How long did you fast?
I love the fact that if we are overweight, well... just stop eating for a few days. And then eat again. WHAT A CONCEPT!!!
Funny thing is this is common sense 😂
Common sense isn’t so common 🤣 It’s the “Diet” industry that are to blame mixed messages, indoctrination blah blah blah if we think about it naturally lean people never diet, they eat when they’re hungry some days a lot some days a little as overweight people we copy what overweight people do go on some unsustainable diet or meal plan it’s bonkers 🤪
And your stomach shrinks so you eat less and feel full faster. And you flush out bad stuff and soon your body feels healthier and you feel happier. Your grocery bill goes down, you take more interest in your appearance and are less self-conscience and more outgoing. You feel like you are a part of some bigger plan and you start telling other people about the positives of intermittent fasting. And you have more compassion for others struggling with their weight and health and want to expose Big Food Companies and Big Pharma for their lies that keeps us feeling unhealthy and addicted to the crappy and expensive products they promote. They get richer and we get poorer and sicker😢...
Day 7 water fast. Lost 10 pounds pure fat and 2.8 water. Going for 30 days. Thank you Dr Fung for educating the world on fasting. I’m saving my own life for free!
Congrats on improving your health and hope you've kept the weight off.
I just have my doubts on the breakdown of those numbers. I'm not an expert, nor have I fasted for that long. From the data I've seen, typically the ratio of fat to water weight lost should be reversed, 2lbs : 10lbs.
How much did you weigh when you started, if you don't mind my asking? I just started what I expect to be a 3 day fast but if I feel okay , I may extend it. Did you add salt?
30 days on water only? Am I reading this correctly?
Free? Technically, you’re saving money since you’re buying FAR less groceries 😉

Im 52 and A year ago I needed to loose 40+ lbs. I used classic calorie reduction technique. Lost about 20 after 4 months. Felt tired, hungry all the time and no energy and plateaued for 3 months despite reducing calories more. I switched over to 20/4 IF and and within 4 months lost the rest and more. That's wonderful. What do you eat in a day for the week ? thx

Wow! And here I was feeling proud if myself doing 16 hours. Well done you
I have lost 30 lbs this month doing a 8/16 intermittent fasting routine. I also stopped drinking soda. I went to the doctor to get my yearly blood work done and he told me that the only way I could have list 30 lbs is if I had malnutrition or had a serious illness. He obviously doesn't understand thevpower of intermittent fasting and dropping your carb intake in half. I was 344 lds last month and now I'm 314 lbs. I feel great. I have more energy. My stomach has shrunk by 4 inches. I feel 10 years younger. I only eat dinner once a week with my wife. I have embraced that feeling of hunger before bed and that large meal for breakfast.
Sept 2020 I read The Diabetes Code and started eating LCHF combined with a 36/12 fasting schedule, as recommended in the book. Within 2 weeks I was off my diabetic meds and now 8 months later I have lost 135 pounds. So many changes have happened since then, this information has been life changing. One of the most surprising was that I had to switch to an old pair of glasses because my eyesight improved.
That's awesome! Well done, I'm just starting out. I'm doing alternate day fasting, not sure if Jason Fung recommends it though...
What does LCHF mean? Please indicate what the acronym means. Thank you.
@@The_Red_Pill__ - LCHF means “low carb, high fat” - essentially, Keto (but, there are so many ‘variations’ on it)...guess you kind of have to experiment with yourself and see what works for you😊 Best of luck on your journey!💕😁
@@Skelly777able - Dr Fung discusses ADF in his books, “The Obesity Code” and “The Complete Guide to Fasting”, as a viable fasting schedule (IIRC), so you should be fine with it, depending on your overall goals. Both books are wonderful, and *highly recommended* ! I have insulin issues😬🤪, so ADF is my preferred approach, fwiw, after an extended (>72 hrs) fast...hang in there, and DON’T GIVE UP! Even if you have a few “mis-fires” and have to stop/start a few times, just get back to it and keep going - you’ll get there, eventually!💕 I’m saying that as much for myself as for you, I suppose😢😊...it’s ‘easy’ to fall back into old patterns when something you’re trying doesn’t appear to be working. I’m sure you know what I mean - we’re all a constant work in progress! I find that what I do one week usually manifests itself the following week, so if I can just remind myself of that, it usually helps me push through the rough patches...cheers!🙏🏼❤️

Crazy thing is I grew up fasting but I didn’t know what that was, we were just outside as soon as our eyes opened till we were forced inside to eat..anytime we would go back inside we couldn’t come back out so we just stayed outside playing and ate just once a day maybe some snacks. We were so busy running all around we barely ate but once a day maybe 2 times. As an adult I’m eating 3 meals a day a bunch of sitting around and snacking. So I’m going back to what worked when I was a kid/teen.
It will work. I had the same realisation and now I have a six pack I haven't seen since I was in school!
For sure my life was exactly the same.I had the grandkids most of 2020 so out of laziness (didnt wanna cook 2 meals) I made all the things they liked (Pizza, Chicken fingers, burgers, fries ect) So I gained 50lbs of the 100lbs I lost in 2019. No worries though I know how to lose it now.

I lost 108 lbs. in a year back in 2009, with NO loose skin afterward. I didn't even realize I was doing any fasting, but I was careful not to snack at night and usually never ate anything 'til I was done working out the next day, which added another three hours. So, I suspect I was very close to the 18/6 without even realizing it. I switched up the exercise between power walking, weight training and step classes at the gym, and also took one day off. This picture of me was taken at the end of one year. Unfortunately, I got fat again, but within 2 weeks of doing 18-22 hour fasts and cutting out the sugar and white flour, I'm down 10 lbs. and feel like I'll be able to get it all off again, and KEEP it off this time.
I was always resistant to the very idea of fasting, but now I finally "get it" thanks to Dr. Fung. Thank you, sir, and God bless you! My brother, who wasn't even very overweight, lost 6 lbs. in two weeks. Two of my other friends are reading the book right now. If we all share with friends who are sick and desperate, maybe we can turn this obesity thing around.
I have fasted 3 days, 5 days, 8 days, 13 days, I was thinking it was14 days and ended my fast too soon. The longest time, 17 days.
By the third day my body thought I was starving to death. I was so hungry!!! Day 4, sill hungry, day 5 almost not hungry at all. Day 6 hunger pains gone. I started getting headaches so I looked into it, and it seams that headaches are from detoxing. I need to detox bad!!! I just cleaned my oven with horrible chemicals. Choaked me up several times. Yes I wore a 🎭 mask. Stopped p.....ing after the 8th day. There is so much build up you'll have little bits with your water for days. Ewwww gross. Getting excellently cleaned out by water.
On the 13 fast i lost about 15 lbs and on the 17 day fast. I lost 20 lbs.
Right now I'm looking at starting another fast. During your fast you will get thousands of temptations. Not just food temptations, the devil wants to cause you to fall any way he can. During those days; food, lust, anger, and the list goes on. Overcome it with prayer. When these things happen, just say what Jesus said. Devil get the behind me. Say to him to...go where Jesus commands you to go.
Pray! Dont believe negative thoughts. Pray! God, help me to resist all manor of temptations, in Jesus name.

You’re becoming one of my favorite people to learn from. I’m kind of a new comer to intermittent fasting. I’m 5’11” and on March 25 my weight had reached 257 pounds. I was winded on long walks and decided to do something about it. I’m 6 weeks into intermittent fasting, and I’m down 20 pounds so far. That's amazing, losing 90lbz so quickly. I'm doing something similar to you, though my weight loss is a bit slower than yours. All good though, 👍, every bodies body is different, just need to enjoy the process.
72 hours of fasting, this is apeshit
Wow! Amazing, your schedule is what I am planning to do so hopefully I have similar results.😊
Im 2 days in, around 54 hours into my water fast. I've been living vicariously by watching Randy Santel food challenges today as my hunger is through the roof. I lost 30 pounds or so this year from ditching sugar and carbs, but i hit a plateau at 325. This morning i was 318 so ive dropped 7 lbs in a little over 2 days. My goal is to get down to the heavyweight fight limit of 265 lbs and then join a bjj gym. My birthday is August 14th and i want to ve under 300 for it.
My sweet grandma broke a molar (#2) eating unpopped and partially popped popcorn kernals. It took 3 days to get her in at her dentist. She didn't eat anything during that time and drank only room temp water. The tooth could not be saved and was pulled, which was grueling for the dentist ("Your grandma has good bone!"). It took an additional 3 days before she could eat anything. Obviously, she had pain during those 6 days of water-only fasting. This was last year, and she's still fasting! She water fasts for the first 7 days of each month, then does different fasts as she feels like it during the rest of the month. Kind of a hard way to get into fasting, but hey! It worked. In her 80's, she now has this lifestyle that improves LIFE. I'm so proud of her for that.
Cuz she's post menopausal. See Dr. Mindy. Fast like a Girl. Before period, feast not fast.
Thank you for sharing your grandmother's inspiring story!
I've done every diet (gained, lost and regained with bonuses) keto the longest (2 years with only small amount of weight loss) but then eventually crave carbs (blood group A). On vegetarian diets to suit blood type I gain heaps.
As most people though with any diet I start to think of what I shouldn't have then feel guilty when I break it. This guilt then turns to binges.
So now at 66 I do 22/2 and eat anything I want (SAD) in my 2 hour window. Best thing I ever did.
It's usually lunchtime feeding and I have lost 6kg over 3 months so far, albeit it's slow but WITHOUT guilt...... donuts, fry ups, sandwiches, pizza, pasta, potatoes, icecream, all the things everyone says you shouldn't have.
I'm then not hungry until the next day and if I have a function to go to I can even go longer on the fast without qualms and eat later but I always bring it back to lunchtime the following day.
Love love love it. When not eating I drink lots of herbal teas. Also take vitamins and minerals in case I miss out on some nutrients. My exercise is walking the dog for about 20 minutes.
Have more to lose but don't care how long it takes now that my body and mindset is really happy.
Blood works look good as well, including the thyroid that was struggling previously, borderline Hashimoto (doctor's words) to near normal (couldn't believe that one).
How are you doing hope you are having a wonderful day

@@danielwetmore7019 thank you, yes doing well and keeping this way of eating as it really works for me. To finally find something after decades of struggling is a relief.
Living in the southern most island state of Australia means we have come through relatively unscathed from the virus apart from a few inconsistent political choices that let the bug in but most of us have had the time to learn what to take like vit D, zinc and such to hopefully get through it if it does present. Our healthcare is quite good for this sort of thing.
I really think IF is the cure for obesity that we've waited for. I fasted 40 hours awhile back and the effects continued for several weeks in terms of lowered appetite and more control over what I ate. My blood sugar went way down(I'm diabetic.) Even a 16 hour fast makes me feel so much more energetic and clear-headed. I need to start doing 16-18 hours every day, and a 36 hour once a week. Dr. Fung is on to something marvelous-a way of eating that is baked into our caveman DNA.
No because there’s are people in great shape who are obese due to their muscles
"Obese due to their muscles"?...
What the hell are you talking about??
You can reverse diabetes with fasting
@@clownnworldorder Usually bodybuilders are considered Obese from their BMI alone. This is because BMI doesn't account for body composition, where muscle is denser than fat. That's probably what Indi is referring to.
Regardless, indi is wrong since you can tell from context that pinesiskin59 is referring to Obesity as in people with a high body fat percentage. Theyre just unnecessarily debating semantics.
@@seignee
I see what you mean. It's like the time the English rugby player -Johnny Wilkinson was weighed and they said his BMI put him as overweight even though he was a low body fat percentage. A very flawed system
I’m a very young 59 year old who been fasting for years. During COVID-19 my weight was 192lbs. at 5’9 in height.
Today I weight 130 after 2 years of fasting. I only eat once a day and at least one day a week l don’t eat.
hardcore bro!!
Dr. Fung, I listen to your lectures on youtube and many interviews. Nobody describes this subject better for me. After listening to your explanations, I changed my diet to low carbohydrate and I fast. My A1c is now competely normal, my doctor is shocked by how I improved my health and I am thrilled!
I have made more progress in weight control through understanding the science and value of fasting , than I did with the previous 30 odd years of huff' n ' puff and calorie control .
Dr. Fung, I cannot express how incredibly helpful these videos are for me during my weight loss journey! I have always had a unhealthy reliance on food and ate almost around the clock since I was a kid. But since I started fasting on a 16:8, I surprisingly don't feel hungry and have been so much more energetic and clear minded.
You are committed to spreading your message and saving lives despite getting all of the of the negativity and dismissal from mainstream medical "professionals", please understand there are countless people so thankful for your diligence! Best wishes!
Okay .How are you doing hope you are having a wonderful day
Thanks for commenting... Your comments are worth viewing hope you're safe from the pandemics season?
I will giver this a serious trial.
if u use 16:8 what is the best time to eat
Agreed 👍
One of the best doctors on CZcams. You were one of the first who mentioned not to count calories and source of calories is important. An eye opener. All respect to you.
I’m currently on Day 8 IF. I started with 16;8 but i realize 18:6 would work better. I’m excited to do 2 days of OMAD soon. I’ve lost 2lbs. I’m currently 163.6 with a goal of 143.
That's where I want to be .
I went low carb, then after three weeks or so to keto and then was able to do One Meal a Day with 23/1, and it feels so good. I never weighed myself. I have gone down 8 cm around my belly (button), two holes on my belt, two holes on my Apple Watch strap.
The Apple Watch Health app has all parameters going into the positive direction. It is remarkable. I started end of May 2023 and half July you can really see the graphs improving. I don’t know what I weigh right now. I don’t care. I measure by belly a couple of times per week. From 124cm down to 116 right now, 105 would be nice to reach. We‘ll see. I am not putting myself under pressure. I even had six strawberries tonight after dinner. I change between OMAD and TMAD, canned sardines for 72 hours only every so often, Apple Cidre Vinegar and Bulletproof Coffee with MCT Oil (that really has a positive effect on my overall feeling - but you need to see how much is tolerable for you, and not towards the end of fasting period)
Good luck on your journey and discovering what is working best for you.
I started IF with keto, low processed foods, no sugar and artificial sweeteners to heal my insulin resistance. I added sprint HIIT workouts twice a week. It felt exhilarating! I went from 182 to 140 in 4 months. I had days where I went off plan and just did a 36 hr fat blasting fast to get the extra weight I had gained off. I spent 4 days in Disneyworld and gained a few pounds lost it in a week. The great thing about a fasting lifestyle is that you can go “off plan” and just jump right back into it and maintain your weight. I love Dr. Mindy Pelz’s (checkout her book “Fast like a girl”) videos in addition to Dr. Jason’s & Dr. Berg’s.
Wow! Good job! You are SO close to your goals. If you eat your one meal early enough in the day, you can increase your time fasting, overnight. If you keep making your window ( to eat) smaller, you'll be close enough to take the next step. NO food for, 24 hrs 48, or even 72 hrs. You'll get the best results with 72 hours. You're SO close to being there. You'll be amazed at how good you'll feel, and how much weight ( fat, only) that you'll lose. OMAD you are also losing muscle, as the Doctor says: full fasting your body will only lose the fat. You can do it! Good luck! ( I've had great success with fasting over the years. It's allowed me to easily stay at my ideal weight, size 4, for over ten years now. I love it!!)
32 y/o and lost 20kg. This man changed my life by getting me to focus on insulin rather than calories. Running 10km comfortably and can do 3 sets of 20 wide grip pull ups. If you exercise heaps but don't see the changes you want, trust me, this works! Best of luck!
did you find it hard to stay awake? i am scared of not eating. how much water intake do you take a day?
@@robertgreene2621 Try One Meal A Day (OMAD) with low carb food to let your body adapt. Water or black coffee/tea only (helps keep hunger away). First few days are the hard part, then energy levels are high all the time. I still do OMAD now. Once your body unlocks the fat store by lowering insulin, you have a massive supply of energy from your fat. As soon as you eat, the fat is locked away for another 4-6 hours. I only eat dinner in the evening. Just drink a few glasses a day and more if your pee is too yellow! Have a bit extra salt when you do eat. Longer fasts once you build some confidence. Rob, the fasting idea is scary I know - but you have everything to gain. Stay optimistic and best of luck! You got this!
I am 70 when, I was 67 when I lost 45 kg and weight keep it till today.
Im doing R72 OMAD and my weight is falling off at a rate of 2.8-3.2lbs everyday! I was doing regular OMAD but this took me to a whole nother level!!!
Thank you for your tremendous videos! They are so informative and inspiring! I am 50 hours into a 72 hour fast. Water and black coffee only to drink. One multivitamin and minerals tablet. Himilsyan salt and water 5-6 times a day. Walking 10,000 steps per day (just over 7kms). I feel amazing. Strong. The only uneasy thing is the “sucked in” feeling in my abdomen which is a bit annoying. I hope I’m in autophagy, hard to tell. I’m overweight by 30lbs (currently at 184), so the weight loss is a side benefit, but the health benefits feel great. Of course I’m making pizza for the kids at the moment, but I don’t feel hungry (lucky for them! 😂). Thanks for your videos. Prevention is better than cure!! 🎉
The smile on that guy's face in the after photo is lifting my morning! He's like "Yeah I'm ripped now!"
Let me tell yuh when I could tie my shoes without a struggle I nearly cried.
@@Conkuur Good job man! You're inspiring others on our journey back to normal health.
Would like to know if you can take your daily supplements when you are fasting for 3 days. Does taking supplements nullify the fasting.
@@thamayanthyannamalai7696 Yes it will because they have calories and have to be digested.
I am one meal a day but I am just about to my goal now. I have hardly anything left to lose but I am fasting now to complete my journey. I’ve been trying reverse a fatty liver and pancreas.
Good Job! COVID 2020 really hurt and fell off the wagon eating junk again, but at least I know what to do as before i really didnt. So im back in the saddle got 50 to lose.
HI Tommy,
How did you start your journey? Did you just start with eating one meal a day? When do you eat your meal? Do you have fluids the rest of the time? Thank you.
Tommy, did you exercise? I’m trying to cut my meals in half to start with then will eventually go to one meal per day. I need to loose at least 30 lbs been feeling sluggish.
How are you now days my friend your post is 6 months old now
Do you still do fasting?
How is your health ,livers?
@@LemireCassie please try to eat your meal around 5-6 pm
So during night time you won't look for foods.
The worse part of fasting is in the morning because of it has used to consume breakfasts every morning your body expects meals in the morning, but you can beat it with tea,s coffees that's what I do and I don't eat anything until between 5 and 6 pm.
I already saved up ££££ as well
I'm doing OMAD at the moment and I reduced from 102 to 97kgs in one single week! I'm doing 5kms of a brisk walk in the morning every day! Planning to follow this routine for the next 5 weeks and come back and post the results! please wish me luck!
Keep going ! not to discourage you but most of the weight lost would be water that is retained in your body as carbs retains so much water in body. Interested in seeing your results, walking is great for fat loss especially a fasted walk.
I am wishing you the ABSOLUTE BEST!! 👍
True, it is mostly water weight lost, but still, you're not as bloated and your clothes aren't as tight.
You got this 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Luck luck luck.
The way you speak, the cadence, tone, word choice, and calming but empathetic energy sounds like you have phenomenal "bedside manner". No idea why that sticks out to me but good on you, Dr.
Dr Fong, you are the reason I was able to finally lose weight and keep it off. Your information is gold. I lost over 60 lbs in 7 months and have kept it off for over a year. I was over weight for 30 years and tried everything. What you share works and along the way it's not only the weight loss but how you feel and what it does to clarity of thought. Thanks Dr. Fong.
I have gone to 20-4 IF with keto on a daily basis. Lost 8kgs in 2 months, generally feeling toned and feel better without bloating. But finding out belly fat is the hardest to lose, so need loads of patience and keep going
keeep going, it will go. try longer fasting weekends
I am doing the 8:16 fasting six days a week I’m hoping to improve my weight bloating swelling and exercise as much as possible. I am 62 years old and want to live to seee my grandkids grow. Thanh you for sharing I hit the like and going to subscribe
Combine it with keto. I do keto (for the last 7 years) and intermittent fasting (varies between 18-6 and 16-8 but I never eat for the full eating window in either case, usually I have a 2 hours max eating window because who can eat for 6-8 hours? lol). I have zero meds, zero health issues, and zero mobility issues. Got rid of pre type 2, acid reflux, swelling/bloat and pain in my knee.
This man here is a literal life saver. 32F/88kg trying to reverse PCOS without shoving a bunch of medications and supplements down my throat everyday. I am currently 55hr into a 72hr fast, and I am down 1.5kg. This may well be all just water weight, but seeing the numbers drop gives me such motivation. I have been eating healthy prior, moderate exercise, but my weight would never go down which de-motivates me. For re-feeding day, I am freezing small portions of dinner that was made during my fast. This personally is helping me cope with "missing out" on certain dishes that I couldn't eat, as I can eat them later.
Hey, that's pretty clever.
Healing within comes first. And weight loss is a side effect. Be encouraged and remember the body knows what to do to keep you alive and how to thrive... we just have to get ourselves out of the way.

Last week I completed my 500th fast. I’m 46 years old, lost 42lbs so far, and feel great! I usually fast 23.5hrs each day and try to eat high fat/high protein and no sugar. I expect to continue with this way of life forever!

What percentage of you basil rate do you eat at each sitting? Thanks
That is fantastic!!

Goes without saying you are by yourself.
I am at the same age as you and I am following keto diet for a few years now. I eat one meal a day and periodically doing a prolong fast. I am reading a book called Autophagy mastery and they mention that it is not healthy to be in a constant state of ketosis, you need to cycle between on and off ketosis. I wish I could get Dr. Fung opinion on this issue.

Dr Fung, I wish I had seen your videos over 10 yrs ago. My father died from diabetes that causes him a severe stroke. I would of been able to help him. I've started changing my lifestyle after my father passed. Some how a person with diabetes losses self control when comes to eating. Your videos about fasting changed my life for the past 2 yrs. I’m on day 2 of my IF. 😀
I’ve been following your channel and interviews for years and absolutely appreciate the information that you’ve shared. My husband has recently started fasting for 2-3 weeks and already lost 8kg, he’s very much happy about that. I’d managed to make him watch your interviews and switch to fasting instead of calorie restrictions. Wish you the very best with your work doc!
You're brilliant. I've done two 72-hour fasts now. I lie: the first was 75. By the time I hit 70 hours that first fast, I felt like I was on drugs (I've not been on drugs). I was in ecstasy. Everything felt AMAZING. I felt as though I could walk on clouds (but of course knew I couldn't). My mind was clear, my body felt clean, my skin was so smooth to the touch. I didn't reach that stage with my second fast, so I wonder whether I might have peaked or will have to prolong a fast a few more hours next time.
LOVE your work!
That’s your body running on fat not sugar. Sustained energy. I had a health crisis 10 years ago and went on a super healthy keto diet and felt like that for 2.5 years.
This is the most informative video on fasting i've ever watched. Explained the process of fasting really well! Thank you Dr. Jason
I've read your book, "The Obesity Code" and it completely changed my life. Thank you so much.
Thank you Dr, Jason. God bless you.
Now I understand why my ankles were swollen inspite of low salt diet I've been consuming. Everytime I eat sugary stuff my ankles swell, I felt bloated. Thank you Dr Fung for this excellent video. 🌻
Yep, I can relate . When ever I consume carbs after not having them for a while , I can immediately feel the inflammation start to form in my problematic joints & areas
Watch his video on salt.
I love your common sense perspectives and teachings. I love that you share who you've learned from, as well as your own findings vs, taking credit for others teachings.
20/4 IF was hard for me, made me constantly tired and not feeling good. 16/8 IF came naturally, basically meaning skipping breakfast and having last meal before 8 pm. So the schedule looks like that - lunch at noon, light snack at 4 pm, and a supper before 8 pm. Went from 310 lbs to 250 lbs in about 6 months. After watching this video now I'm thinking of incorporating one day a week of total fasting to allow for autophagy effect to kick-in, to get to my target 225 lbs.
Thanks for helping me Dr Jason. Read your work before the pandemic last year in February. Devoted myself to following the principles you wrote about and up to now I’ve lost 88 pounds and I’ve managed to maintain this weight comfortably. Thank you for changing my life 🙏🏾
Thank you! You are gifted at explaining complex biology to the layman.
Dr. FUNG. The least I can do is watch those commercials. So much knowledge shared for free. Thank you! 😊
Assuming these are correct assertions, this is the best presentation on fasting I’ve heard in my 60+ years.
