    I lost 50 lbs in 6 months at the age of 56. I worked a highly active job and I was on Atkins. It’s not easy to do but I love meat cheese and eggs. It’s even easier today with keto bread & other sugar free products. Now if you’re a picky eater it may not be for you.

    Interesting! BUT, prediabetic here and it just does not work for me. Cold potatoes for example. Nope it raises my blood glucose a lot.. Never noticed a difference. Bottom line maybe great for some one without insulin resistance but you might be fooling people who are diabetic or prediabetic. Always check how you react with the glucometer. Too high? Don't eat it.

    I started the fatty liver diet, and intermittent fasting, I've worked up to a couple of water fasts. I've lost 50 lbs, sadly I need to lose at least another 50 lbs to get to just overweight, but the weight is still coming off, so hurray! My problems are, that a lot of the symptoms of fatty liver, have gone, or improved dramatically, which is great,but most of my symptoms that point to some form of auto immune/thyroid problems have stayed the same, even worsening. I started taking suppliments, when I started dieting,iron selenium, magnesium, zinc, etc, but they do not seem to have affected my " thyroid" problems. The basic Thyroid test now comes back as normal. Can anyone relate to this?

    i'm one of those people who gains and loses every year, but this time i want to keep it off, so instead of high carb diet, i'm doing high protein, moderate fat. so far, i've noticed i never feel starved like i did on high carb. high carb also tends to be an easy segway for me back to junk food

Plus MOST human health problems are accociated with the 5 forms/stages of diabetes which include most heart disease, most strokes, most kidney problems, much of vision problems, most high blood pressure and high blood sugars. Take away all of diabetes and you can put 50-70% of ALL doctors in the unemployment line. At least 50 billion dollar industry yearly comming into doctors wallets and hospitals. This diabetes problem world wide is BY FAR the most massive health problem in all of human history

    I am happy to hear this. I have been doing IF for about 1 month. My A1C raised by .02 points. I am hopefully it is because my body is using the stored glucose. Is this true? Do you think it could take a month or 2 to use the stored glucose?

    Well, if you are 60+ you will start losing muscle mass whether you eat a lot or start fasting. You will need your proteins (and use it in your daily exercise) in order to build your sceletal muscles and stay fit and healthy while you grow older. Long time fasting appears to destroy what you maybe never will be able to build up again.
