    I will be 66 in about a month. I used to be morbidly obese, and struggled with many chronic health problems for decades. No doctor that i ever saw personally ever told me that any of these conditions were reversible. I had to learn that here on CZcams. I have had no need to see a medical doctor ever since.
    I began eating just one good meal per day back in June of 2021 - about a year and a half ago, and have kept it up ever since. I kept my carb intake to a minimum, and stopped my sugar intake pretty much completely. This was a fairly aggressive form of intermittent fasting. And within the very first two to three months, about 60 pounds of excess fluids and body fat were gone. Along with that, almost every chronic health condition that plagued me for decades was reversed.
    These conditions included, a fatty liver, occasional hypertension, edema - excess fluid buildup in the feet and lower legs, chronic cellulitis bouts of caused by that edema, COPD symptoms, lowered testosterone levels, frequent night time urination, weaker and crumbling teeth, and constantly sore feet, most likely due to neuropathy to name a few. Almost all of these conditions cleared up, even the COPD symptoms. And i am still a modest smoker. Imagine that.
    The only thing i still struggle with is the neuropathy in my feet, and that is not as bad as it used to be, but it seems to be the most stubborn condition to reverse. I have learned to do a few exercises to help increase the blood flow of the lower extremities, and one of these days i may try an occasional extended fast, more than 24 hours as well. My best wishes to everybody else on their own journey to improved health and well being!

    I am 30 years old and all my life I have struggled with my weight and after the pandemic and lockdown, I have crossed over from being over weight to obese on the BMI scale. I had just had my second child, and I suffered from joint pain and back pain ALL the time and doctors were telling me that I needed to lose weight, but I failed every time I tried dieting because I was ALWAYS feeling hungry and I blamed my self control and lack of consistency. I stumbled upon your videos on CZcams, read both your books (The obesity code and The ultimate fasting guide) and now am an avid listener to TFM podcast! I realized that it wasn't me! It wasn't that I lacked self control, I was working against the nature of my body and its hormones. It's only been a month since I started but I have lost 12kgs!!! For the first time in years, I am not hungry! I do TRE and 24 hour fasts so easily now and my next step is to do extended fasts! I thank you from the bottom of my heart, because you have changed my life and saved it from a life time of misery and health problems! I am happy to conclude with the fact that I no longer have joint and back pain! All it took was a month and the inflammation in my body is already way better! EVERYONE THIS IS LIFE CHANGING!

After watching a few videos, I decided to change my diet and successfully changed my diet from junk to healthy food. I eat 2 meals a day and I include almost every in my diet like all grains, fruits, meat, poultry, fish, vegetables and legumes. I don’t buy packaged food. I followed this life style for the past two years and as a result lost 52 pounds, no blood pressure, no blood sugar issues and no health issues at all. Fasting worked the best. If only the whole world could hear his relatively simple message, the world would be SO much healthier and happier. It’s really tragic that most people don’t know HOW to eat, and that staying within our recommended weight range is fairly simple if we would just eat the way God intended, instead of the way the food and restaurant industry wants us to eat…which is ALL the time! Their goal is to constantly tempt us to eat, and they are very successful at doing it. They couldn’t care less if we’re healthy, or not! The more we eat, the more money they make!

      Actually it goes like this. Someone doesn't exercise, eats like complete garbage for many years both in type of food and over consumption of calories. Destroys their health and gets desperate. Told it was not your fault and just don't eat the carbs and fast. Finds this an effective way for them to reduce their overall calories and loses some weight, but frankly is still puggie most of the time. Thinks it's a miracle then starts trying to tell people who actually took care of themselves, exercised regularly even athletic people that they are killing themselves because of the carbs or not fasting or whatever and tries to now pretend they know the secrets and push their advice on these people. These people don't appreciate that and try to tell them it wasn't the carbs or the fasting, it was you not exercising and eating like complete garbage for a long period of time. People don't want to listen and cycle repeats.

I am at one goal weight for the first time since I was 21, and I am 57 now. One a week I do eat breakfast. But the reality is that you can't look at this as diet, as diets don't work. I don't hit the snooze button and go make black coffee. Then, I drink water with Keto Chow Daily Mineral drops til the evening. Next thing I know, it's almost bedtime, so I fast until the following afternoon. If I'm hungry, I'll have some eggs, steak, chicken, ground beef, salmon, sardines, or some other meat. If I realize I'm not truly hungry, I fast til I am🙃

I can't eat even close to the amount of food and junk I used to without quickly gaining weight. It's like my body says, "Hey! Look at all these carbs! Finally! Let's store all this in case she stops eating it again." It's actually a good thing; keeps me on track.

      Why would you go back to carbs? And why would you say that this is what going back to "eating healthily" means? I think you have missed some important principles here. The whole point is that carbs are not a good choice to build your diet around. It leads to poor health outcomes via metabolic issues, which will lead you back to having to do low-carb/fasting. It's better to treat low carb/fasting as a permanent lifestyle and enjoy all the health benefits that follow like no fatty liver, stable body weight, low inflammation, low oxidative stress, better brain function. The list is endless. Carbs are not eating healthily.

    • @andoletube
      @andoletube Před rokem +3

      @@lisaj3262 That's fine if you never destroy your metabolism in the first place with overconsumption. The problem in the Western World is that a huge percentage of people have already damaged their metabolism to become insulin resistant by overuse of carbs, gaining weight, getting visceral fat - especially a fatty liver. Once it progresses that far, it can't be returned to a state equivalent to you or your people. From that point, you can't just return to what you are calling complex carb-based diet. It's something that has to be managed for the rest of one's life. Reversing diabetes doesn't actually mean deleting it from your existence - it means by making dietary changes, you can remove the elevated blood sugars and insulin levels from your life and thereby, remove the dangers that flow from that. So it's really not helpful when metabolically healthy people who were never sick to advocate for a carb based diet to people who are trying to fix their metabolic dysfunction. Anyone on a carb based diet needs to make sure they don't overeat or gain weight to the point of fatty liver disease. If you do that, you'e in trouble.

    Saw a you tuber, said muscle and collagen broke down because body can convert protein to glucose for the systems that use glucose and said that's why carnivores skin looks saggy? (Not sure who she was referring to) she said to stop fasting......I like your explanation that excess skin is protein, would love to see more shows on intermittent fasting helping saggy skin with before and after pics , this would be huge. Thanks for what you do. Will buy your book!

      It will get rid of the bad collagen that's glycated and make skin look better. Carnivore is nothing to do with fasting.

    I lost 15.6 pounds in last month simply by going to OMAD, and my blood pressure is down by about 10 points. I have severe mobility issues, so currently my ability to exercise is limited to some chair exercise. This month (February) I am only eating on the even numbered days. March I will eat on each day divisible by three. Then in April I will do everyday divisible by 4 as I go into the rolling 72 fast.

    The one problem I have is that when I occasionally do OMAD, I am not really that hungry come 18h30. So I often only consume 1500 cal, instead of my normal 2000 cal or so.

    My body goes into a crazy healthy state when I fast. I do a 40+ hour fast once a week. I don't do it for weight loss. I do it for all the other reasons. Liver cleansing, kidney cleansing, immune system boost, mental sharpness etc are all benefits of fasting. While fasting my O2 saturation goes up a couple points. My resting heart rate decreases by 20 points. My body seems to "enjoy" a fast.

    This is a world changing reminder of what past generations knew, fasting is safe and a desirable practice. Same with snacking. My Grandmother knew perfectly well that snacking makes you fat. I can still hear her tell me to “Save your appetite, Honey”.
