The bunny is a really clever word play actually. First of all she's on stage in the costume, hiding her true self.
The bunny is representing lies. Ai is hiding behind those lies.
Also bunny in Japanese is Usagi and lie is Uso. They sound alike.
Also there is no love, only tears.
Also the first episode is wholesome as fuck for the most part.
another thing i’m pretty sure white rabbit also means purity/innocence which are used to describe idols

i watched the first ep of oshi no ko and without any spoilers, just...wow. the thing is, even though the base concept itself isn't really anything out of this world, and i feel like in the first quarter of episode 1 you can already kind of guess where it's going, when the thing you expect actually happens, it still hits like a damn TRUCK. definitely worth the watch & considering it just came out & is gonna be 1 ep per week, it'd be easier to keep up with, too.
nowww speaking of oshi no ko! if you're ever interested in another idol anime with pretty dark themes, might i suggest IDOLiSH7? it's a series that just like oshi no ko (at least from what i know of the former so far) focuses on the idol/entertainment industry and how screwed up it can be, though it includes quite a few different perspectives, both positive and negative. at it's core, it's a story about a group of male idols trying to make a name for themselves & get big, with every single character, main or side, having unique but at the same time realistic personalities, INCREDIBLE character development...aaand as mentioned before, it gets dark. like, mental illness, corruption, and partly even violence & death-dark. though it's not exactly the kind that gets you out of nowhere, though. idolish7 really loves its foreshadowing, and the more you watch, the more you notice the little details here and there while gradually getting attached to the cast & THAT'S when they hit you where it hurts.
the openings & endings are all sung by the 4 main groups of the series, and they all have full mvs that don't connect to the actual story, so you wouldn't get spoiled watching them even if you knew what happened in the anime itself! it also gives a very nice introduction on what each of the four groups is like both in terms of their music & general "theme" :)

Really interesting take on the anime, unfortunately it's even more fucked up than you think ! The MV has a lot of references in it's lyrics and visuals, the "two sides" kind of things is the really most obvious and important thing, I'm practically certain you won't watch it but not sure so I'm trying to explain without spoiling anything.
The first episode lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes to adapt the entire prologue of the story , and I must say that It's a perfect adptation be it the animation, the voice actors, the music (Yoasobi for the opening and Queen Bee for the ending, two famous singer in japan) etc... so proud of the studio Doga Kobo as they usually don't take on big and heavy themed manga.
i want to tbh but my camera stops every 30 mins i even have a dummy battery so i can do long recordings but wont work

Makes sense for this one i am well informed about the bad things behind close doors in the entertainment industry and for this anime to be Number 1 on mal now it must have dark elements
