If you have seen the anime then the video itself hits much different and is worth watching the official english translation released by Yoasobi to correlate. Hits MUCH different after seeing the first episode. So sad lyrically despite the happy sounding upbeat track.
Yoasobi at it again, making one of the most upbeat tracks ever, while giving it depressing/sad lyrics.
The reason this music video has so many views is because if you watch this music video after watching the first episode of the "Oshi no ko" anime, you will be shocked and deeply moved. you will understand why the music is structured this way, why the visuals are designed this way, and why the lyrics are the way they are. You will be moved and have a completely different reaction. We are looking forward to the upload of a comparison video showing your reactions before and after watching the anime.
In addition, there is an English version available. Thanks to excellent translation, the English lyrics match the rhyme and meaning of the Japanese. It is a strange translation that sounds like Japanese even though it is in English. Try listening to the English version after listening to the Japanese version a few times. This part of the lyrics sounds Japanese for some reason. "That emotion melts" and "Completely deny"
I'm surprised how accurate the automated captions were, but maybe that youtube feature actually works on videos that go from 128 mill to 132 mill if you blink a few times.

Japanese version is way better. If you like the heavy/dark/weird parts of Idol watch Internet Yamero. It's even crazier. Darker and crazier but a similar song.

@@Frahamen I wouldnt say spoilers. Nothing that isnt said in the first few minutes. At least major spoilers. Watching just gives a ton of gravity to the delivery when you realize its from Ai's perspective etc.
listened yoasobi's "the book" today just to realize Dragon Phly has got us to know and love most of them tracks
I do think Oshi No Ko would be a great next anime for you Wave!
