    Really nice analysis! I don't really understand the music portion, but I love how you included some thematic analysis of the piece in conjunction with the plot itself. I love blind reactions to good music/anime OSTs. But I really think this is a song that NEEDS to be reacted to before watching the show, then once more after watching Episode 1. AND THEN once more with lyrics subtitles on. Emotionally, it would hit harder and harder each time. Such a great song!

      It really is a baller song. I didn’t look at the lyrics this time. I’ll have to in the future.

    If you keep stopping right away, you'll never realize the amazingly complex key changes in this song!

    Okay, I’ve finished the video now, I must say you’re still the best direction I’ve seen for an anime op or anything of the like, for me at least. Good job:)

    Not even finished with the video yet but I love the way you describe things, I can’t say it fully because I haven’t finished the video but even so, good breakdown!

    Wonder why no one ever seems to notice that the "hey"s make it sound like an idol concert...

    • @KevinBessey
      @KevinBessey  Před rokem

      I haven't been to enough Idol concerts. But, that makes sense!

    • @kitsuneneko2567

      @KevinBessey in an idol concert, the audience tends to do chants and coordinated dances. This is the first pop song I've ever seen where those chants are in the recording itself, and it makes perfect sense to do so. The song has a structure reminiscent of idol jpop at times. Like the ending part, after "aishiteru", that sounds very much like the ending of a, say, AKB48 song. Actually it's VERY reminiscent of an actual morning musume song. "The peace", I think. There are so many layers to this. But the amazing thing is that because the chanting is a part of the score, the audience isn't doing wotagei, they're actually participating in the song when they chant.

    What's that instrument in first is this band or drum pad or something in the opening

    • @KevinBessey
      @KevinBessey  Před rokem

      At first it’s a synth and an electronic drum. I’m not sure what those glitchy techno sounds are exactly. They could be processed drums, a specific synth sound, or some other sample.

    • @KevinBessey
      @KevinBessey  Před rokem

      In general, yoasobi just uses synths, electronic drums and vocals. So, when in doubt, I just assume it’s one of those three.
