The ABUS 34/55 has a very stiff spring and a tight keyway which makes tackling it quite different than most other locks. I discuss handling tension and some strategies for setting the spool pins.
Very cool. Somehow I completely missed that you were into lock picking! This is a bit nostalgic for me. About 15 years ago, my glass studio was in a huge industrial building with a bunch of other artists and musicians. Someone taught me and my friends how to make picks and torsion bars out of street-sweeper blades, and for a whole summer we all played with every lock we had. Good times!
I don't know if you have any but with these tricky Abus keyways I have found that the proper thickness full length Z bar tensioner slides all the way in and fills the entire length of the keyway just below the top warding and provides a more then excellent platform for the heel of the pick and makes these locks a cake walk to pick. You just have to get used to holding the lock with your palm on the top.
Excellent video!
Analytically breaks down the methods of successfully SPP’ing ... well done!
Love the lock as well! Thanks!

Nice
Are they still selling the locks? What is the link? Thank you.
