One day Emma is going to do a "come with me" that'll be 90 minutes long and we're going to end up watching a "live" version of a found footage horror movie where she watches a movie that invades her "real" life. Come on A24, get on this, let Emma be herself and write a really spooky story. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I actually hate found footage films, but for some reason I think I'd watch that one.
omg that is SUCH a good idea
Haha, death before spoilers. Buttt... the first 5-10mins of the 10 year anniversary stream. 😙🤌 chef's kiss!
A24 NOT Blumhouse. Better chance of it being good.
I've actually considered this idea many times before. I always half-expect something creepy to happen in or outside her car during these Come with Me reviews. Anyone else feel that tension? lol. I can picture Emma doing something like this and it becoming the most viral review of all time.
No high expectations for "Imaginary". Movie I'm looking forward to is "Late night with the Devil" from Shudder, which will be on theaters in the USA on March 22nd.
I watched the movie trailer it looks Cool 😎👍
Late Night with the Devil is also bad... Saw it at MAMI film festival last year.
Ooof. Blumhouse is such a hit or miss studio. I hope they don't fumble the Wolf Man or the remake of Speak No Evil. (Hint: They will)
I think the Wolf Man will be good, since Leigh Whannel is directing, but I have no faith in Speak No Evil
i wouldn’t even call them hit or miss studio anymore it’s 80% misses and 20% decent
Remake of speak no evil has really no justification of it's existence
@@ominous_light @connoryup574 They won't learn. A movie that made money in Europe with a CTRL+V schedule is catnip to producers.
Wait what?? speak no evil is getting an remake???
3:28 you dropped us
🥺🥺🥺
That scene was funny 😂
Your camera tried to leave to go see Dune 2 when you mentioned Imaginary haha ....I didn't expect much from this one but I was hoping it would have a fun vibe like "Dolls" (1986). Thanks for the head's up, will wait to stream this one.
“Is Blumhouse ok” 🤣 luv that!
This review makes me think she might have seen Madame Web by mistake
🤣🤣🤣🤣
At 3:30 your camera turns the “ Blair Witch Project ending mode” on!
😂
The year hasn't started for horror yet... I'm still watching what I missed from last year and some of my favorites.
Have you seen the british film "Stop Motion" from last year, Emma? I'd love to hear your thoughts...
When even the camera's had enough, it's better to stay away!! Thanx fo the warning, Emma!!!
P.D.: When the movie is truly bad, please feel free to add a spoiler section...
Last year ? it just came out 🤔 haven't seen it yet but it looks good
expected, especially coming from the director of fantasy island and truth or dare.
I was supposed to see this yesterday in my press screening, but due to "technical difficulties" we were sent home and could not watch the movie. Then your camera drops :D:D
I am really interested to see it now after your video and all the odd signs hahahaha
Blumhouse has a bad habit of missing the mark. They mostly make subpar horror movies. I suspect at one point they wanted to make something more like A24 horror, then just gave up and started pumping out crap.
Wrong. FNAF was great
@@itsnick5082FNAF was very disappointing.
Blumhouse has not been ok for a while. Either Jason Blum is loosing focus, or, it’s a strategic plan to turn into an over commercialised ‘family friendly’ f’cked up version of Disney (no offence to Disney).
Oh, I think Disney has earned a little offense at this point.
@@Corn_Pone_Flicks yeah that’s fair as well
Don’t tell me this is another Night Swim. I was genuinely looking forward to watching this since they were marketing it so much I thought it might be good. Night Swim made me wanna poke my eyes out with hot needles and I try to be positive about movies even if they’re bad
I don’t know what’s worst honestly
I enjoyed aspects of both but sure, they both descended into silliness..
It’s worse than night swim lol
Night swim is way worse imo
This felt like a creepypasta written to scare 10 year olds that they tried to make as a serious adult horror and it comes off as unintentionally hilarious
_original_ sonic.exe is horrendous
Camera was like F** this movie 😂
Blumhouse is 20/80 studio now😢
I appreciate the very straightforward & indeed blunt review Emma 👌 ! I am here for your opinions & you give them candidly & I trust them. Thanks 😊
Well, I'm not going to try and change anyone's opinion on Imaginary. I'll just say that I thought it was okay. The one thing that I do like about writer/director Jeff Wadlow is his ability to put a "twist in the tale" which I almost never expect. Cry_Wolf, Fantasy Island, and Imaginary all have a fairly simple set-up, but then something changes, and we get a third act that seems like a separate story. It's not always perfect, but I do like to give Wadlow credit for trying to do more than genre expectations. I understand how people will not enjoy the lagging first two acts, but there is a deeper story being told and at first, we are not aware of it.
I feel like Blumhouse has been resting on their laurels a lot lately. Success breeds complacency. At least it sounds like they had good practical effects. Also, nice rimshot. 👍😉
Amazing how quickly you got this up! Will end up seeing this and usually will wait till I see the film to watch your reviews, but I think I'm more excited for your review than the actual film.
When Emma wears a Tennis jumper we knows she's serious 😮
I'm sad that it didn't turn out well because the concept seemed so interesting. An imaginary friend turning on their child is such a cool concept. And I really want PG/PG-13 horror films to make a comeback so the younger crowd can have newer horror films that they latch on to. Unfortunately it seems Blumhouse isn't taking the right lessons from movies like M3GAN and is just greenlighting concepts that would work better as short films.
The latter part was my thing - this should’ve been a short film or an episode in like Black Mirror or something
After seeing the trailer I could tell it would be a bad movie. Thanks for the review you saved me from watching this. I love the moment your camera gave up and dove into the floor because the movie was so bad. 😂
Thank you will definitely wait til streaming now
I liked the movie… but luckily I had seen your thumbnail so I knew you didn’t enjoy it before heading out to see it so I went in with low expectations. I am a huge movie buff and also a gore goddess so I love going to the movies. I have a subscription membership to AMC so I go to see almost every movie. I am so starved for horror this year so far so I definitely was still gonna see it in the theaters but I don’t have to pay since I can see up to 3 movies a week with my monthly fee. I don't watch reviews before seeing movies so I waited to watch this and I was pleasantly surprised since you and I typically agree most of the time… but after nightswim and founders day. This was an amazing film…lol Anyway, I agree that people will not like it if they have to pay to see it. I saw founders day for free and it made nightswim seem better…I go to advanced screenings like you do a lot which is also free. I look forward to the horror films getting better … because I feel like we're headed in the right direction Even if it is at a slow pace
This review is so funny - love it! Thanks for the warning, Emma!
Thanks for this review Emma. I definitely think I will save money and wait til this comes on steaming. I did have concerns about this tbh. I'm kind of done with possessed teddy bears/dolls. We need some disturbing stuff! Waiting for December... NOSFERATU!!!!!
Hellour friend! Hope you're doing well ❤️🩹 and healing more everyday... About the video huge sigh hahaha blumhouse was like, my favorite horror makers early 2000's but damn they're losing me every new film 🥲 idk it feels most sometimes they're trying to be camp but not understanding the definition at all, i agree with you. This was, once again, a miss. Anyways, love to you and your loved ones, thanks for keeping us updated with our fav genre 🤜🤛
I've just come home after watching Imaginary at the cinema. I absolutely loved it! Definitely worth a watch.
Yeah, I liked it too I didn't think it was a masterpiece or anything like that but I had a fun time cool concept. I agree the editing probably wasn't the best but Still enjoyed it
When the camera fell lol.
Whenever Jeff Wadlow is involved u have to lower all expectations
At least we have Late Night With the Devil, Longlegs, and Nosferatu to look forward to! 😂
I was looking forward to this 😢
I heard an interview with the director of this film and he was saying they literally just left the exposition segments blank in the screenplay and had someone fill them in later which explains a lot lmao
That look you had when you entered the car told the whole story. I had low expectations but still hope this will be a campy good time in the theatre.
Now, I'm posting this based on your thumbnail, and I will watch the vid cuz Spooky deserves all the views. I saw this trailer in front of Poor Things, and my thought was 'what kinda Lifetime Channel 1997 bull is this?' I did have a good trailer- Frank is looking forward to Vampire Ballerina. That looked fun. This junk looked like.....junk. Yes I am going to watch the vid, but I feel like I get it It looked SO bad.
Such a tremendous channel , that you, Emma, have created! Particularly enjoy the Come With Me uploads and your monthly mash-ups are a must-see!
Thank you!!!
It's like a Madam Web director/writer fiasco. Why keep giving certain creators chances? "From the director of Truth or Dare, Fantasy Island, Bloodshot, and The Curse of Bridge Hollow. By the writers of Monster High: The Movie, Playmobil: The Movie, Reindeer in Here, Bloodshot, Fantasy Island, and Truth or Dare. Imagine of world of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th chances at cringeworthy mediocrity."
When the camera fell 🤣🤣
Thank you for your feedback and insight:-)
Have you seen "Pooka Lives!"?
I first came to this channel to see about horror films made internationally and/or independently. I normally avoid these films like this one that play the multiplex here in the U.S. ...as well as avoid even the reviews of them
it seems like its becoming common knowledge just to ignore what ever Bloomhouse is selling
Ive always talked about blockbuster horror, they actually do the best on my channel. I include as much content as I can about ALL new horror.
Blumhouse always struck me as a production company that rides the wave of the renaissance in the Horror genre, without doing anything really meaningful or creative, with a few exceptions.
“Even my cameras had enough of it!”- Emma, 2024
I’m new to your channel! Subscribed right away! Thank you!
Thanks for saving us! Also, do you mind sharing what the "Let's Go" music is? I like the vibe of it.
Thanks for saving me money. Maybe I'll watch it IF it streams for free.
Practical FX are very important for horror genre yet one of the best horror series is on YT (not in theaters) and it's completely done with 3D animation and it's called BACKROOMS.
Just finished this movie, thought it was awesome! Came to check out your review!
This is the second movie in my 44 years of living that i walked out on in the theatre. I walked out when it became clear what CB really meant....so predictable! Fun Fact: the other one i walked out on was Scenes from a Mall back in 1996
Hahaha! Agreed. I got to see this early - which was great...until I realised that I didn't need to see it at the cinema at all!
Did love the look of...certain places though!
Yeah. I'd say silly cute popcorn horror. To be enjoyed with friends at home in jim jams, and laughed at together!
The camera drop said it all lol
I was listening to this video as I was trying to get back to sleep in the middle of the night and I jumped when she dropped the phone. The audio was unnerving. 10/10 jump scare
Thank god reviews came out because I haven’t seen anyone talking about it and almost spent money on tickets
First time ever seeing your channel. I loved the video and the accent. But you bring up a good point about it looking like a monster from HHN last year they had a scare zone that was toy related i swear the teddy bear looked familiar. I can definitely see them trying to make a franchise.
Welcome! I’ve been here for 10 years! I have a lot of content, enjoy
@@spookyastronauts i saw all your eveil dead videos im a fan for now on! Dude you have some dope ass content
I was confused too.
I just went to see this movie at the cinema, and yes I knew people are hating on it but I actually had fun with it. Maybe I was already going with such low expectations, and yes, I laughed a lot. Is it bad, yes? The kind of bad that is entertaining
Maybe it was meant to be straight to VoD, until they saw IF coming out as well, or it was rushed out to beat IF?
It's almost 6 PM. on Wednesday evening here in Ireland, and I still don't see any rotten tomatoes score online for this movie, which is released here on Friday. Even last night, I thought to myself, there should be a review by now, and that usually means it's bad. I'll take your word on the review, and I certainly don't doubt you. I'll wait until it hits the small screen, and if I'm bothered, then I may or may not watch it.
I was wondering why there wasn't anyone else in the theater when I went to go watch it. When I walked out, I understood why. 😂 I was so disappointed.
this movie is awesome if you can hear the people behind you in the theatre mocking it the whole time
I feel like Blumhouse has been seduced by money and is now aiming their sights on the teen market. No doubt the money is nice BUT what about quality?
Thank you for making me save money for better movie hahaha
I am so here for this rant. This film gave all those not so great vibes unfortunately. Rant away. Thanks for your coverage as always.
i heard the screenwriters give an interview for this film earlier today -- pretty interested in seeing it
edit: based on your reaction - maybe not
Supposed to see it Saturday.
😂 I’m suppose to take my niece tomorrow. Kinda disappointed.
I knew from the trailer that this was another hokey Blumhouse horror and it was not for me. Thanks for the confirmation, Emma.
I didn't think the film was too bad, but I wish they'd done more with the scavenger's hunt plot. It could've taken such a dark turn but they kinda shied away from it, and there was no real mystery either.
This movie was pretty decent. Thanks for the review.
I just watched this movie and my only thought is that is is DEEPLY okay. It's not great but it isn't terrible. This could've been GREAT if they did it right.
Then when it ended, I had this feeling that they said nothing. Like reading a book filled with a lot of nothing going on, it was that with this movie
Movie of the year
I think blumhouse is rushing a shared universe of new horror icons (Megan, Malignant, Imaginary... )
Malignant isn't from Blumhouse though
@@blakethesequel Atomic Monster and Blumhouse have merged
that bad huh?
Great 😊
Awe man, a bummer that this one wasnt fun. I didnt have high hopes, but i was hoping for some cool visuals (practical effects my beloved)- not enough to make me go, though, not if i have to sit through awful dialogue
I just saw this movie today in NYC and I'd seen the thumbnail for this video so I had low expectations and I didn't hate it?! It wasn't great but I've seen worse this year so far!
It’s why they’ve been promoting the hell out of it
I feel like that’s more strange though, because it’s so much money wasted on marketing.
Hahahaha camera drop made me larf hhahaha
It sucks my local theater only gets PG13 horror movies lol. Like I want something better than that lol
Same for me
This might be a unpopular comment but do you think you would ever touch the jeepers creepers 1 and 2 because those are the best ones but im just curious are you going to watch them if not thin i completely understand .
What do you mean by touch? Of course I’ve seen Jeepers creepers before
Watch not touch im sorry lol we'll what i mean by is like have you ever did a video about them
I'm seeing it today to review on my blog 😅 looking forward to a laugh because it's so bad
Just going by the trailer looks meh I'm seeing this film Saturday I know it's gonna be a painful watch rip haha is it as bad as night swim? lol
Thanks Emma you saved me wasting my time :)
Oh rant? Grabbing the popcorn!!
But seriously this film felt like its already happened before? Like Disney did Dont Look Under the Bed and it felt like Tattletale a little. Different plot but similar ad.
I wish it was a killer teddy bear movie which I was hoping for
Once i saw it, i said this movie was made for the sole purpose to make a Haunted House at HHN.
So basically if you want a weird teddy bear movie, just watch The Pit!
Is there any newer ones
I’ll watch this after I’ve seen the film on Saturday. But here’s a like and comment for the algorithmic old gods.
0/2 for Blumhouse so far this year it seems. Doesn't bode well when they keep undertaking basic ideas and not giving them time to be fleshed out/created before churning something out and releasing it. 🙃This is what I fear, Blumhouse is now the biggest horror company now...they've been doing a Disney and making deals and buying up smaller studios but they don't have quality... Sure, on one hand it'll be great we get horror movies out every single month but if they're all going to be lacklustre and following the Blumhouse formula...it's not going to be worth it and I may be biased cos I want Blumhouse to stay away from existing franchises after the whole Halloween debacle (and The Exorcist, let's be real) but Jason Blum wrecked Paranormal Activity once he got involved. It's in the Paranormal Activity documentary, he even agrees with that... it's all a huge money making thing now instead of genuinely 'scary' movies being the selling point. (rant over 😅)
Thoughts?
well thanks for dropping us on the ground...lol
I just saw it, didn’t mind it though
glad you enjoyed it!
@@spookyastronautsit had a interesting ending, the place it went looked like some budget to it. the movie could have been just a haunted teddy bear but they went in a different direction which I didn’t mind. The young girl did quite a good job acting wise. And it got a little creepy.
@@ActionJackson1982Just saw it and it is another level bad to me. Honestly one of the worst movies of the year but at the same time I loved it!! They dont make movies like this anymore, its so bad its not good but entertaining and funny. This was like Jaws 3D 2024 edition 😂 I was appalled but very entertained
I actually didnt mind the movie but it did had its flaws and can see why some may not like it i can acknowledge its not a well received film.
Just gonna say this, when i saw rhe name of the director I knew it wouldn't be well received, partially i blame the director also blame blumhouse for constantly hiring the guy given that he hasnt directed a single good well received movie. Every studios have its hits and misses, and itll continue to be like that, hell even believe it or not A24 may have their days too in the future not saying i want them to fail but its bound to happen to any studio. Also, everyone has different taste and its up to us what we like.
With that said, i reckon blumhouse needs to step away from jeff wadlow especially if they want more well received films, they just need to step away from him.
Side note, I think its good that they give first time and new directors to have a shot they seem the type of studio to do that which is fantastic think that's one of the reasons why i like blumhouse and studios similar even A24.
With blumhouse you know exactly what you’re getting.
I'm very sad to hear this, I'm going to see it on Saturday. Oh well I'll have a laugh instead 😅 hey I might end up enjoying it since I hated Nightswim and everyone else seemed to lap that up 😂
Thanks for this, I think I’ll skip the cinema for this movie 😂
3:28
so imagine this was scary or good..got it
I blame Megan for this surge in meme horror
Hope its good. Looks really scary
I told y'all these scary movies are a dime a dozen for universal, especially now Blumhouse. I predicted this. We're on the over consumption era of horror right now.
