Emma rocking out the outfit! Love it!!
I'm actually feeling positive for the Ghostbusters Frozen Empire since I've really enjoyed watching Afterlife. I'm not sure what the plans are for the future, but I do like how the recent Ghostbusters movies feels more like passing the torch over to a new generation.
I obviously liked it too, sad the comment section is so negative
@spookyastronauts Yeah, I agree, but I'm glad that you've had fun attending the movie & you've enjoyed yourself watching Frozen Empire. It's a shame about the comments section, but I'm not letting the negative comments change how I feel, especially since what was more important that you've liked it yourself.
Are u watching Immaculate? Seems like no one is reviewing that movie
Fish Jelly Film reviews just posted a video reviewing Immaculate go check it out!!!
@@wanyatelborn TY
At the end of the video she said her Immaculate review is tomorrow
I speak about immaculate in this video
@@wanyatelbornI wouldn’t watch it .. they spoil every movie. I typically watch their reviews after I’ve seen the film.
Thanks for the wonderful review ❤️ I’m really excited to see it!
My family has always loved Ghost busters. My niece loved watching the first one when she was little and I took her to see it in theaters for Halloween one year and she was about 7 and she crawled into my lap and was like, “this is scarier with the lights off”. 😂
Hahaha cute
Way cool jumpsuit mate!
Think you're the only person who loves going to the cinema more than I do.
Would be proud to have a granddaughter like you. You restore my faith in humanity Emma.
I saw the original movie when it was new. Keep in mind that I was 7 at the time - but I would say it *was* scarier for it's time than what you might think now. Some of the effects were pretty spectacular for it's time, and I remember adults being genuinely frightened by the library ghost and the armchair scene. And me - I was scared of Slimer! 😂
I still think the movie actually has quite a dark "end of the world" feel to it, it's just that it's become such a "comfort movie" for many of us that we kind of don't notice that anymore. The scene where Winston and Ray are talking about judgement day in the car still gives me chills sometimes. It's been my favorite movie ever since 1984.
Frozen Empire - I loved it. It felt a lot like a Real Ghostbusters episode, including the almost cartoonish design of the villain. It's not "the best GB movie ever!", but they can't all be. And sure, I can point out a few flaws, but all in all I was very happy 😊
I usually wait for VOD for movies these days but might go and watch this at the Theatre
I just left the cinema from seeing this one. Glad to see Gil Keanen got a chance to direct one, I fee l like he's the perfect vibe for one of these. I enjoyed it, even though it seemed to sag a bit in the middle.
I agree with you, I gave it a 7 too. I liked Garraka to an extent as it did remind me, like much of the film, of the Real Ghostbusters cartoon, albeit with a villain of the week flavor. Some of the call backs and silliness was a bit much, yet I did like they kept the atmosphere and familial themes largely consistent with Afterlife and even expanded on Winston and Ray's friendship. I'd put it on par with Ghostbusters II as being flawed but worthy.
Love the Ghostbusters jumpsuit. 💜
I figured it wouldn't be as good as Afterlife but I'm happy to hear it's an ok sequel at least. Thanks for the review.
You are such an adorable Ghostbuster, Emma! ❤
Haven’t see this but this is what the 2016 one should have been, a new crew teaming up with the old. Wasn’t a fan of Afterlife as it was just a lead up to this one. But looking forward to it just for the OG cast. Just a shame
Moranis and Weaver aren’t in it
Really enjoyed Afterlife, glad this one did good as well.
Great non-spoiler review. Can't wait to see it :)
First ghostbusters scared me when she opens the refrigerator and that demon was in there, that scared me, but lots of things scared me as a kid 😂, and the Library Ghost was terrifying but fun all at the same time.
great review Emma as always. i hope you are doing well
I'm so glad to hear that you liked it! I just read a few reviews that weren't very kind and I was considering passing on this, but I think I'll check it out this weekend after all.
If you liked afterlife you’ll find it enjoyable!
@@spookyastronautsI just got back from watching it and really liked it! Your review was spot-on and my only complaint was that it felt like it was missing that extra magical touch that can really elevate a movie, but it's a 7/10 for me😊
"Who are you going to call" D'oh! That's not even close, it's: "Who you gonna call?"
This iso is out. I'll wait for the pitch meeting
It's funny how I remember that I watched your review of Afterlife when it came out. Time does fly
NOT A Reboot But A Continuation
New core cast same as a requel so I just use reboot while others say sequel both are right
I was born in 1989, I grew up with Ghostbusters 1 & 2 in 2001, back when internet wasn't popular. I'm waiting the day, when I see Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. I have seen Ghostbusters: Afterlife, but I haven't seen Ghostbusters (2016) female reboot.
I am going to steam this movie when it comes available 😊
Loved this review it summed up a lot of similar feelings that I had
Going to watch this movie tomorrow night
Good review and cool video Emma!👉🙂👈
What I don't understand about Sony is that they have access to the world's best screenwriters and hundreds of speculative scripts - so why did they go with the guy who did the Poltergeist remake? I mean, I know that movie made money but... actually, I've just answered my own question. Carry on.
What? The poltergeist remake was awful :( I was so disappointed
@@spookyastronautsI can't believe it was profitable, but I guess name recognition goes a long way!
I really quite enjoyed the movie which really surprised me as I didnt like the trailer at all. Many other reviewers disliked it and Im having Exorcist flashbacks xD
If we were to get another film after this what would you personally pitch/want to see, Emma?
I think that would take a long time to figure out! Sorry don’t have a canned answer would take months of research
@@spookyastronauts Fair enough.
You look lovely with that suit ❤
I saw it and it was surprisingly enjoyable although I feel like some parts could've been faster or longer. And the CGI and practical combination effects is the thing that makes it the most nostalgic. I'm more shocked with how this movie managed to get a SU (basically all ages or PG) rating in my country since most of the jokes are more mature 😭
I'm not that invested in the new Ghostbusters (have never seen the original!!!!! I know!!!!!!) but Emma's enthusiasm for it is rivalled only by one other CZcams personality I've ever seen
YAY!!!!!
Ghostbusters 2 was extremely scary and dark for me growing up. I totally loved it but it was scary.
Cannot wait to this movie :)
Emma's a Ghostbuster! I knew it! lol... Sounds like a fun movie. :)
❤
that jumpsuit just made me do a spit-take of my cawfee lol
I still…ain’t ‘fraid of no ghosts!
Something wrong with people that don't like the original 1984 Ghostbusters.
Emma uses a Proton pack and she ends up flying cause the force of the blast is too strong for her! 😆
I gotta admit; that poster did make me laugh. 😁
It technically isn’t a reboot but a sequel to the originals
Actually it is a Requel
@@Horrorzeit no it’s a sequel set 30 years after the original ghostbusters films to see the return of gozer in a little town called Summerville, egon spengler had a daughter and they move to Summerville where strange things start happening and then finally the return of gozer where the new team of ghostbusters have to trap gozer once and for all
I’m one of the few people that thought afterlife was a mediocre ghostbusters film. People say it’s comparable to the original, but it’s not even close.
This is my most anticipated movie of the year. I am seeing it tomorrow night and Friday night. Can’t wait!!!
Your expectations are really high. I hope you’re not let down.. Especially since you have two different showings to go to. 😂
@@Dino.Dude06 I’ve talked to some friends that got to go to an early screening and they told me I’m going to love it
This was such a fun review
I can't do these kinds of movies anymore that are just living off better decades and nostalgia. The 2010's sucked and had no identity. It's sad that the 2020's is going down the same road.
Disagree on all parts! There’s gems in every decade.
@@spookyastronauts Can you really name any music, movies or fashion from the 2010's/2020's that broke new ground like the 70's, 80's or 90's? This era is all about nostalgia instead of creating new things.
Yeah I name my favourites every single year, but I’m not here to convince you, that’s totally fine if you don’t enjoy films anymore. Just go back to the classics
1:00 it's a sequel technically
Reboot, as it’s a rebooted cast within the same universe. A sequel would be following on same cast, remake is making it all over, reboot is starting up the franchise again with the same universe.
I am going to be a Poo Head - Hated the first one when it was released so never have or will see any of the sequels
Awh, I feel bad for you honestly. 😮
@@Dino.Dude06 LOL who cares
I have seen zero Ghostbuster movies 🙌
Yep, definitely a "poo head".
I know I'm in the minority camp but I didn't like After Life at all. Didn't think it was fun or entertaining. Not sure I'll check out Frozen Empire.
Don't judge... 😋
I won’t judge you are totally welcome to share your opinion.
Like the darker tone mixed with the usual shenanigans. The mixed review matches mine and what others have said so far too. So hope it does well enough 🙏
the fact the only ghostbusters movie I’ve seen was the female one
Controversial opinion. I prefer the 2016 version over Afterlife
This is like the original Ghostbusters only without anything much funny or fun. Not even the stay puff marshmallows could save this campfire....
Bill Murray looks so so old in this movie.I have very very little interest in seeing this 1.
Maybe that's because he isn't young anymore?
I thought Afterlife was shit. I couldn't even make it all the way through. So have no intentions of seeing this.
Yeah probably not for you then
It was so bad 😭 I gave it a 1 star!
4:20 spoiler
No spoilers
Big fan of GB1984 and of GB2 1989. Thiugh that was basically the same movie. That’s it. Hated GB2019 (not because they are women) the “comedy” in GB2016 was just terrible.., Afterlife was just awful and made no sense at all. Frozen Empire will be the extention of Afterlife. That movie is just not on my watchlist. I wish they would freeze the entire GB franchise 😬 (which should not even be a franchise in the first place)
What a dud! Dull as dishwater till the last half hour. Wish I'd bought a ticket for Immaculate then snuck into the last part of this disappointment. Not even IMAX could save it.
Worst movie I've endured in a cinema this year that wasn't from Blumhouse. 😖😡😣🤬
As a fan it pains me to say this but I have to be honest - Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is a bad movie.
The film is total a mess. It's boring, poorly paced, confusing, convoluted and overly complicated. There are far too many characters, some of which have been needlessly shoehorned into the story. It's overstuffed with unnecessary dialogue, dull subplots, pointless characters and scenes which go on for far too long. It's not funny either. I didn't laugh once during the movie, and neither did the audience I was watching it with. Neither is it frightening. Laughs and scares are the two things you expect from a Ghostbusters film but this latest entry in the series is completely devoid of any.
Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan may be talented directors, but they're the wrong people to be writing Ghostbusters films. Afterlife was mediocre at best, but Frozen Empire is just plain bad.
With a heavy heart, I rate this film 3 out of 10.
I feel a lot of fans are in denial about just how bad this film is.
Idk I feel like you can have your opinion without stating others who feel different are in denial? I love reading others opinions but not when it’s insinuating anyone who feels differently is wrong.
@@spookyastronauts I don't mean to be insulting, but I know what fandom and fanaticism does. Sometimes you can love something so much and be so obsessed by it that you fail to see its faults. I understand that some people have found the film enjoyable, but it's not a good movie.
It’s kind of my job tbh, I don’t have any issue with criticising things I wanted to enjoy. But I’d never tear anyone else down for enjoying them.
@@spookyastronauts I'm not taring anyone down. I'm just saying it as I see it. I think it's a bad film and I'm surprised by fans who say that they like it. Especially the ones who've said that it's 'great' and 'amazing'.
@@spookyastronauts I'm not taring anyone down. I'm just saying it as I see it. I'm aware that people have biases and can go into denial when they're fanatical about something. It's a very common phenomena. It makes people believe that something's a lot better than it really is. When I hear people say that the film was 'great' and 'amazing' I think they've convinced themselves that it is.
I was bored out of my mind and the female ghost stuff was cringe
Real horror fans dont like ghostbusters cause they dont like horror comedy.......there are very good australian horror movies to waste time talking of this......
