I always sneak in candy in boxes at Dollar Tree. They're the same as the movie theater.
Do the theater workers check your bag? I live in Argentina and no one checks your things when you enter the theater
❤😊😊same
@@marianadamelio No
Me too!!!! Always take my own snacks!!! And no they do not check your bag
They never have lemonheads or nerds,so I sneak a theater box or two in my pants pocket
I went in expecting absolutely nothing. I went to see it with my friend and we were both just expecting a bit crappy horror but I was pleasantly surprised. I LOVED IT.
The verdict of Emma is one I respect & it determines if I spend my dollars 💵 on the film reviewed or save them for another day. 👻
last night, i watched “the collector” with low expectation and loved it afterwards lmao
The collector 2 is pretty good too! Even more blood 💯🩸 the guy from the first one's in it again. 👌
I like the typography of the new text pop-ups you're using. Your production values were great anyway but looks like you've upped them again. Also, personally, not at all over 'griefy mcgrief films'. Almost all fears stem from aspects of mortality.
I'm going on Thursday, it'll be my first horror in cinemas for the year. I don't have high expectations but am looking forward to it either way
I don't know who originally said, "Adults are just children who grieve." but I've found that very true. So, when they say, "I'm over horror movies about grief!" I think they're trying to say they want a movie targeted to their age group.
Excellent point
I always love to see the snack selection in your cinema :D Every country has different treats
I enjoyed it. It's been and long gone in UK cinemas, but I am glad I chose this rather than Night Swim for my first horror on the big screen in 2024. I think the setting certainly helped it become more satisfying for me. But it was just an OK movie.
Also in the UK now, I just watched Amityville: An Origin Story - great for true crime and hoax fans. The more I see about the Warrens the more I dislike them ...
I have a friend who used to work as Ed Warren's assistant, and the stories she told me about them bummed me out so much. As a fan of all things paranormal, it was really disappointing to know they were total con artists. I mean, I'm not so naive that I didn't think they sensationalized their stories but they were truly awful people.
@@suzybearheart530 I didn't realise there was anything alleged against them until I watched the Amityville mini-series. Mentioning it on my FB page someone directed me to a podcast that reported on some horrific allegations against him especially. Certainly puts me off rewatching the Conjuring films or watching any more of them.
@paulinitonit I still love The Conjuring films but I now I view it strictly as fiction. 😉
It says it’s coming out in the UK soon. Maybe you saw an early screening?
@@spookyastronautsit was on for two weeks at my local cinema. It's odd it says that. Maybe it'll be out on streaming here soon?
Great review as always Emma (but check the typo in your t-nail😮).
Considering all movie genres, I’m think horror suffers the most from how difficult it is to write a good script, the adaptation to film, the execution and lastly its particular tropes. It’s almost like a lot of people making horror films aren’t even a fan of the genre. I say that because horror aficionados like this young lady-who watch a boatload of horror can instantly pick up on what’s not working for a particular horror film. There should be a genre expert on every horror film crew to nip in the bud all the tropes and lazy execution evident in most horror films. If WE can see this stuff from a mile away, why can’t they? Becuase they’re probably not genre fans.
Thanks for a good review. I think I´m going to give this one a chance. :)
Honestly, this sounds right up my alley. I am definitely adding this to my list. Thanks Emma!
Yeah I was surprised how upfront everything was. And then I felt like they went with the most obvious route with it so the story ended up being kinda by the numbers. But it was an alright watch!
I like this film. In December seen here in Germany!!! 👺👺👺
Quick summary of the movie.
After 100+ years of the brotherhood guarding this entity. It takes a woman 2 nights to set it free & fail. Roll credits 😂
The premise seems very close to Talk to Me. I will definitely give it a watch.
Thanks for the review, Emma. It sounds like the film has that "average balance" of atmosphere and scares, but not much of a story. That sounds like how I felt about "Night Swim".
This sounds fine with me. Honestly a good 5 out of 10 horror movie with good acting, sign me up. Sure I may forget about it in a week or two, but give me something other than the dribble we get these day. Bring back the mid tier horror movies I say, the one that take a smaller bidget and actually tries their best.
When does it come out in the states? Specifically Austin, Tx.
Have you gotten a chance to watch the trailer for Sting? It's an arachnid based creature feature!
I don’t watch trailers! You know that pizza 💕
We got this in the UK a few weeks ago. From your description of the opening I'm wondering if we got different edits. I didn't get a cold open lore dump like that.
I found the setting confusing. The main character is living in London at the start, but the pub was in Germany. there's no explanation of why the main character's dad moved to Germany to buy a pub or why pretty much everyone everyone she meets in Germany is British.
I was confused by why the dad was estranged from his daughter in the first place. When “Baghead” channels the dad’s ghost or whatever, the “dad” says something about staying away from her to keep her safe, right? I dunno, I think my brain gave up trying to follow the plot at that point.
Available on Shudder today!
A dark secret dwelling in the basement...
If Baghead starts chewing on sheet metal I'm suing for steaing my likeness
I'm disappointed it only got a 4 on scares because that's the only reason why I thinking about going and seeing it in the theater was because the trailer looked Scary 😨 I guess I'll wait for to come to streaming 🙄
I liked it. There were absolutely no great surprises, but, I enjoyed it
I think the grief based horror thing isn't played out at this point so much as just kinda over saturated. I like horror that's also a little sad, so grief can play a part in that, and we have gotten some very good movies from it,like The Babadook and Pet Sematery.
🖤
I'm a big fan of the Duplass' BAGHEAD. Figured I'd say that even though this isn't related. Peace.
I love it too!
Thanks for the reply! (And for going to see my film INFRARED a couple of years ago at Luna).
I just watched the trailer, it looks like they've borrowed from "Talk To Me"
It’s an older concept from the short, just unfortunate timing
Can’t find the trailer for this movie
Fully expected this to be rubbish from what some have said, but i enjoyed it. Yes it has flaws and its predictable, but its a fun easy watch for me
I love this movie it's awesome.
I liked this movie I wish it was a little longer .
Great review emma ❤
This looks spooky!
Freya Allan is going to be in the new Planet of the Apes movie coming out this year.
I'm looking forward to seeing her expand her arsenal. It's cool to see her bounce around from fantasy and drama (The Witcher) to horror (Baghead) and soon action (Apes) rather than pigeonhole like some other actors do.
They showed the “monster” way too quickly.
I didn’t really understand what the stakes were supposed to be for the main character.
I was also confused as to what exactly the extent of the monster’s powers and limitations were supposed to be. I mean, yes, it can channel someone who has died and sort-of bring them back to life, but what was with the “two minutes only” rule? Can it only channel someone’s ghost for that long or is this part of the creature simply choosing to mess with people? It seemed unable to leave the tavern, but then it did at the end? What?
(I’m using the term “monster” to avoid giving away the twist).
I guess what I’m saying is that I didn’t really… get this movie.
Are theatre snacks highly overpriced there like they are here in the US?
Oh yes Australian cinema snacks can be overpriced
We have a drive-in theater here and their snacks are reasonable but the indoor theatres are crazy! A large soda costs as much as the ticket...@@BeckywiseTheDancingClown
Did you see "Smile"? I'd consider that "Entity" scary
Yeah loved it
I don’t get it tho how did the dad die and it wasn’t free but when she did it was ?
Thanks for the review! I'll probably wait for streaming,
Same 5/10
I had high hopes for this movie. It's a shame it's not a great movie but I'll still watch it when it's out here in the US in April.
My favorite part of these is always watching Emma's expression when she first gets in her car lol
I'll never not laugh at how the title means something totally different in the UK!
😂
Omg what does it mean
I wish I liked this film as much as you. The scariest thing that happened while I was watching it was a woman nearly died after choking on a snack, fortunately there was a gentleman nearby who performed the Heimlich maneuver on her and she was saved!
It would be difficult for any horror film to live up to the fear of someone's actual life being in danger but Baghead was particularly not up to the task.
This film, which I haven't seen yet, just reminded me of 'Castle Freak'.
Not for nothin' but there's already been a movie called Baghead in 2008. Completely different plot, though.
Yes I’ve reviewed that one
@@spookyastronautsmic drop 😉
Why are all these short stories made into full length films? They should be added into anthologies or series like Masters Of Horror. Like the Good ol days......
That’s usually how films get off the ground for financing, they make a short and ship it around till investors see potential.
@@spookyastronauts yeah. That's how some films are made today. It was unheard of even 10 years ago. While I hate production companies interfering with a director's vision...i also hate when an unproven director gets free reign. We get throw away movies where that director does nothing after.
@@spookyastronauts to be clear...short films made in film school circulated as you have said. Now these companies are grabbing CZcams shorts and making full length films out of them. And out of all of them, Lights Out was most famous. These companies are doing the horror genre a disservice in my opinion. Still Love your reviews!

Is this going to come to America?
It's going to be on AMC + in April
damn...not sure if I wanna see that now anymore 8(
The funny thing (if you can call it funny) is that I couldnt concentrate on what you were saying.
Why, you ask?
In my country, the act of staying inside a parked car with internal lights on is extremely dangerous, specially if youre a woman.
This video was probably more tense than the movie you were talking about, at least for me.
Imagine you explaining this to me? That’s the most wild part
Oh no don't tell me now we gonna have a wave 🌊 of the last successful film, Talk to me same shiiit happen to the conjuring, for a over a decade , I'm tired of demon possessed hunted house something is wrong with my mom bullshiit movies , Let's bring back the group of friends road trip type horror creature feature
There’s an error in the thumbnail *Entity
Thanks
@@spookyastronauts I love your videos! Hope all is well and sending love from the sad states of ‘murica.
Bob Marley is getting meh reviews and Madame Web is getting bad reviews, I'm not sure what to watch on Friday now, Baghead hasn't gotten good reviews.
PLEEEEEEEEEASE react to Godless: The Eastfield Exorcism!
Almost lost the will to live watching this one. It made me feel brain dead 😂
Hope it's scary
this movie was generic imo, kinda cringey.
What ain't cringey nowadays, honestly saying something is cringey is cringey at the point xdxd
Talk to Me ripoff.
Honestly one of the worst films I've seen in a long time. A hugeeeee avoid. The acting and writing was just unforgivably poor
This was very disappointing. Good acting and set design isn’t enough. No gore or good kills. A PG-13 snooze fest
