Girl, stop apologizing for your opinions! They're totally valid! Screw any of the haters....
Big Facts
Well said.
It is not her fault... sadly enough having an opinion on the internet is both a curse and a blessing. I understand that is just a matter of being safe and keeping her channel (specially when it comes to this subjects), greetings!!
I wish she WOULD stop acting like a beaten dog for expressing her opinions. I watch a lot of horror movie reviews and the guys rarely (never?) CONSTANTLY act like this way. I'm not blaming her. I'm assuming it's just conditioning.
Agreed rustyđŒ
Insidious has a place in my heart... brings back memories of sleepovers with my friends when I was younger
Wow I think I was 20 when it came out?
Me too!!
I think it's becoming a classic because it's a great intro to horror. It's the first horror movie I showed my son, followed by Poltergiest, which is on a similar level, I think.
I was 10 when it came out I believe
Showing my age. Our sleepovers were mostly watching the Nightmare on Elm Street series. Then we'd go to a local park and play "Nightmare on Elm Street" which was a hybrid of hide and seek and the hot/cold game. Someone would be Freddy and someone the victim. The rest of us would sing the Freddy's coming for you whenever Freddy got close to the victim.
I love Sinister's music, and that Lawnmower scene....oof
đłđł
i watched it the other day for the first time and i happened to miss that scene because i was away from phone. but thank god !
The soundtrack really pulled me in as well.
i didn't expect much from sinister but it was AMAZING
Yes!!
I think people should abandon âbestâ lists and just call them âfavouriteâ. For me there is a massive difference between best and favourite. Example - citizen Kane is an incredible film, but Iâve seen it once. Itâs a better film than, say, Heathers. However, Iâve seen Heathers 30 times plus. Best and favourite are vastly different.
Keywords like "best" & "worst" get clicks..."favourite" doesn't lol
Loved heathers it's a classic movie saw it on tv in 1999 I was 15 at the time đŒ
@bennett theissen Thatâs really not the point at all though. Sometimes you donât actually want to learn anything like when watching a movie especially if youâre not in the film industry. Sometimes you just want to watch something thatâs easy to digest and comforting. So no offense but your response is a bit pretentious.
Either way it's a matter of opinion.... there is no official best list
@bennett theissen Oh Iâm sorry. I actually meant to write *very pretentious. Have a nice day.
Paranormal Activity gets a bit of a bad rap because the series slid so far down with the last couple of sequels. I thought the first one was great, though, and 2 was good, as well.
đđŒđđŒđđŒ
I enjoy parts three and four as well. I think it slowly got weak on the fifth.
I LOVE the first 3. After that, though, well....
I think my favorites are 2 and Marked Ones
I watched these when they came out on cinema and they were great to watch as part of a big group! Later on I started to go along with those who thought the movies were lame. I then watched Dead Meat's podcast series on them and fell in love again
Michael Myers: "Am I a joke to you?"
Yes Michael Myers is a Joke
@@charles___ millions of Michael Myers fans may beg to differ. 2018's Halloween was quite successful.
@@charles___ halloween 2018 is the 2nd best halloween film
The only thing that triggered me about this list was the disappointing lack of Oculus in the top 20.
Seriously, that would for sure be in my top 5.
LOL !!! Anusflavor, haha... superb screen name
Anything by Mike Flanagan. I have yet to be disappointed by anything he has done. Even "Before I Wake." That movie gets needlessly ripped. I thought it was beautiful.
Anusflavor i agree! iâm obsessed with the haunting of hill house and i looove how mike flanagan casts those actors in a lot of his movies
Oculus was the film that made me a fan of Flanagan's works, and Hill House is a classic. Glad to hear from fellow enthusiasts. Cheers, folks!
sinister scared me so bad when I first saw it! also; I was home with my sister and a friend who lived a few streets away. it was about 1AM when the film finished so my sister and I decided to walk my friend home. we live by a railroad and whilst coming back to our house, someone who appeared to be a child was standing in the middle of the tracks, not moving. I legit thought I was hallucinating at first but nope, my sister was seeing it too. but anyway great video! I love those ranking videos and seeing how different mine would be haha. my faves are both the creep films, get out, the invisible man, ma (sorry), the second unfriended, split and the gift! I haven't seen upgrade yet but since you seem to really love it I'll give it a watch soon!!
Omg that sounds so scary!
@@spookyastronautsthat sounds awesome! Their very own real life "fakeout". Lol
I don't think the green inferno is meant to be a remake of cannibal holocaust, more like a homage to it and to the general italian cannibal boom of the 80's.
I think Green Inferno really miss the spot with the absence of story. However, the visuals and tension really is there, if only Eli Roth wasn't the Micheal Bay of horror.
Cannibal Holocaust was not very a big story but it took liberties in the presentation, really Kickstarted the foundfootage style and is still one of the best way to tell a found footage stortly in mhly opinion.
Thatâs why I said loosely inspired âremakeâ it was marketed that way
Itâs actually a closer reimagining of Cannibal Ferox with a touch of Cannibal Holocaust. I always thought it was based on Holocaust until I rewatched Ferox. I guess Eli Roth was more creating a homage to the two.
Either way, I enjoyed it!
Eli Roth seems to love putting his now ex wife Lorenza Izzo in all his movies. She's gorgeous but not a very good actor lol...
Ireland EVR sheâs not amazing but sheâs not too bad, not bad enough that it distracted me in the film. The horror genre is so notorious for absolute shit acting that now if I see a performance thatâs not HORRENDOUS, Iâm like âaw yeah not badâ hahaha
As for Knock Knock - that was just a bad film all together lol Meryl fucking Streep couldnât have saved that shit show
Some great movies mentioned here, my personal favourite was The Invisible Man because of the brilliant performance by Elizabeth Moss, she is a top class actress
Sheâs amazing
I agree! So far it's the best horror film this year imo. The music was also very great.
Really loved seeing Paranormal Activity in the top spot, but I felt Halloween (2018) deserved to be on the list
Yes and truth or dare
Worst Blum House movie is Fantasy Island, period.
Honestly I think "Truth or Dare" is pure shit..
I feel really bad for Lucy Hale, but I dislike âTruth Or Dareâ more then Fantasy Island
@@irelandevr4046 Oh NOOOOO I forgot about Truth or Dare >.
Black Christmas was a horrid remake that only used the name. But fantasy island an truth or dare are definitely up there
Ireland EVR true, at least truth or dare is entertaining though, barely made it through fantasy island
CANNOT BELIEVE you posted this just in the exact timeframe in which I wanted to scoop out the best bloomhouse movies. Ahhhhh Emma Youâre the absolute best
Omggg we are in synch
Hey...no apologies, it's a solid list! The good majority of your picks would be somewhere in my top 20 too.
đ€đŒđ€đŒ
So stoked to see Lords of Salem on this list!!! Great video Emma.
Hell yeah đ€đŒđ€đŒ
Hi Emma!! I loved this video, I was so happy to see Creep and its sequel on here since I recently watched both movies for the first time. You should do a video about your favorite horror directors! â€ïž
Imma say rn that number one will be Creep. Haven't watched the video yet.
Even if I'm wrong, Creep is still my favorite horror movie ever, so I might have a little bias
(edit) I was wrong. Creep was 3rd
Close!
The Gift is utterly fantastic and would recommend to anyone. The acting is spectacular, especially from Jason Bateman and Joel Edgerton
love love LOVE this list. Paranormal Activity is one of my fav movies of all time so I'm so proud you put it where you did! Also haven't seen a few of these so thank you for the recs
hi emma!!! iâve just recently found your channel and i just wanna thank you for so much great horror content, your videos always make my day!
Thanks for watching!
Is it weird that your description of Mercy makes me want to see it desperately? Hell yes to The Gift and Paranormal Activity!!!
Hahahahahđđ
Mercy is soooooooooooooo boring! I'm glad is placed number one! Hated it, I could not even finish it!
Angela ComprĂ©s Wow. That bad, huh? Curiosity could kill me once again. đŹ
My personal fav is the Invisible man, I'm very excited to see what they do with the other Universal Classic monsters
Same!
This was great. I always learn so much from your reviews. I've lost track of how many great films I've seen thanks to you. You're my go-to horror critic
I love your sense of humour Emma! Thank you for the fun video and sharing your taste in horror with us :) Also, I agree with you on Paranormal Activity I & II! I saw both when they were first released in cinemas, and they honestly scared me, I couldn't sleep either night!
Thank you for being honest about your #1 pick. I'm always afraid to say it's mine too. People get crazy defensive.
For sure! Thank you
There is a reason that Blumhouse is that horror production, every time they make a good movie they seemed to be contractually obligated to make 2 bad ones. Blumhouse has made some truly great movies and if they can actually get consistent they could be a respected horror productions company.
My favorites: Get Out, Halloween, Creep 1 &2, Hush, Split, Ouija 2, Occulus, Happy Death Day, Insidious movies (except 4), and the Town that Dreaded Sun Down remake.
the ok: Ma, Dark Skies, and the Visitor
good of nonhorror: BlacKKKlansman, Upgrade, the Gift, and Whiplash
Worst of what I watched: Unfriended 2, the Purge, Truth or Dare, and Sinister 2 there are a ton of bad ones I haven't watched of Blumhouse
Thanks for sharing Aaron!
Totally agreed with the town that dreaded sundown remake so unappreciated!
@James Cook For me it was boring and basic cool idea though, that the sequels made it much more fun.
I'm glad you thought it was awesome though the beauty of art.
@James Cook When I say basic I meant that they took a unique idea but did nothing interesting with it not that the idea wasn't something different which I did appreciate
@James Cook No problem, oh and we all have individual interests and views so there really is no reason to tell a person their wrong for enjoy a certain movie, that is why I try not to do so. I can't see a movie through your eyes so can't judge it from your perspective. I know you didn't ask but wanted to add my thoughts on that idea
I love these kinds of lists! Love seeing you rank some bad things for once, and I think a few "honorable mentions" could have been a good inclusion here too. 80 movies is a lot of material to cover, can't imagine the time it took to do this video, you're the best!
I loved this video, Emma! Wish you made it multiple parts so we could get to see your rankings on the movies that were left out
Thanks for the feedback
Good to know that Iâm not the only one who genuinely hates Ma. The trailer had me totally hooked, and then the payoff, and just the whole film really, was just an absolute mess.
Oh also although itâs not my favourite, I can completely understand your number 1! Itâs honestly one of the scariest viewing experiences Iâve ever had alone at night!
Thank you!! Yeah Ma was a let down
And this didn't even touch the Blumhouse TV movies from Hulu's Into the Dark series which deserve their own ranking as well
I LOVE those movies!!
Should do a video on just these. For the most part they are worth watching. All are pretty short too so not too painful if you find some you don't really like.
Oh GIRL. Your #1 pick earned you a new subscriber. I, too, love PA 1&2, and so I salute you from 2021, and entire year since you uploaded this.
I would have guessed Creep was your number one! Also, I loved that you talked about The Gift, I have watched that movie 3 times and still love it. I havenât watched paranormal activity in years, but you have inspired me to give it a rewatch!
Hell yeah! Thanks Jordan, you always leave the best comments
Me in the comments:
"Where is It Follows on this list?! "
It's not even Blumhouse
OMG....you were hilarious Emma!! You were scared, nervous, and even did a shake/dance before naming the movies!! One of your most entertaining videos!!! I was very excited to see The Green Inferno... but was disappointed. I did enjoy Happy Death Day, very fun!! Upgrade was bad ass!! It's your video, so Paranormal can be #1đ€đ€đ€đ€đ»đ»đ»!! Again, awesome video!!! Congrats on Rotten đ !!
Thanks so much Ryan!
this is the first video I've ever seen of you and I suscribed! really enjoy just seeing people talking about horror movies they like, so yeah (I disagree with some of your picks, but overall I think it's a pretty cool list)
Great video! As a huge horror fan I realize Horror as a genre is subjective. And I always love seeing how other horror fans see movies and rank them ! Cheers
Watching you laugh at yourself over Paranormal activity brought me so much joy. I have a few new movies Iâm going to check out now!!!
Haha thanks Alli
Great video as always Emma !! đ
Thanks Benny
So glad I discovered your channel! Keep up the great work! PS. I've seen Mercy and oh my, that was INDEED something else
i got really excited when i saw your #8 and just wait to see the rest...i've watched them a bunch and i agree with #1 in so many ways! thanks for sharing âđâ give love and stay safe
Been waiting for a list like this! Thanks Emma! My Top 5 is 5. Insidious 4. Sweetheart 3. The Hunt 2. The Invisible Man 1. Sinister
Nice!!!
21:22 I love Paranormal Activity so much, almost every film have a place in my heart. I remember watching the first one when I was little and I couldn't sleep in peace for a week.
Love this list and hearing your perspective on Blumhouse. Before watching I think I had a bit of a judgmental attitude toward Blumhouse but I will definitely check some more of these out! THANK YOU for recognizing PA 1 and 2 because these are films I am constantly defending to my friends who aren't seeing the scariness for some reason. Also, CONGRATS on the Rotten Tomatoes offer! I think you would be SO good at that! Thanks Emma! :)
Girl I feel you on most of these. Too difficult for me to rank though. I really enjoy the first three Paranormal Activity films. I recently rewatched them and they still spooked me. I've been putting off some of these like The Gift. Maybe I'll watch tonight. I'm at work alone in a dark room during night shift lol. It may not be Blumhouse but I like The Conjuring universe. The Conjuring and Annabelle Origins(is that the title? The one with Anthony LaPaglia) still scare me. Also it may night be necessarily disturbing but you should check out The Love Witch. Story meh but visually stunning. I thought I was watching a 60s flick. Love your content. I look forward to your vids every week. What with working the night shift and allđ
The Purge and all its sequels hold a very special place in my heart, since I can watch them over and over again and never get bored đđ»
Yeah, I love âem. :)
Your opinions are just as valid as anyone elseâs. I donât agree with all of you ratings, but I acknowledge the fact that your opinions count.
Man you were really nervous lol. I have watched most of your top 20, so I guess I picked the good ones? =) Thanks for the recommendations as always!
Thanks for watching
Your extemporaneous explanations make your ratings so cool. đđŒđđŒ Congratulations on the đ gig! đđŒ
Insidious should have been higher up and I donât blame you for having paranormal activity as your #1! Love your content.
Buttttt I liked the others more, but thank you! đ
I thought your #1 would be Creep or Get Out, but I can respect the Paranormal Activity choice. For brevity, here is my top-5:
1) Get Out
2) Upgrade
3) Creep
4) Oculus
5) Hush
It was hard picking top 10 I moved it around so many times!
I think completely agree with your top 5!
I would have guessed Creep at #1, but I'm not surprised Paranormal Activity made it. I only watched The Gift recently and really enjoyed it!
Awesome vid đđ
Thanks Scott!!!
Awesome recommendations! Can't wait to pick some and start watching! You are excellent at what you do! Love watching your reviews!â€đđđââââââââ
I never realized Lords Of Salem was a Blumhouse film. I also love it and it's easily my favorite Rob Zombie movie.
Omg !!! Itâs like meeting a unicorn! Same! No one else likes it as much as I did compared to his other films
Great Rob Zombie Film! But his best movies are The Devil's Rejects, 31 and his Halloween remake.đ€·ââïž
I think Unfriended: Dark Web is underrated and overlooked by many people.
The only thing that really pissed me off with that film was the stupid static whenever the bad guys were on the screen and killing the people otherwise yeah I loved the 1st one aswell
Movie is garbage sorry
Itâs really bad lol
Really liked that movie yes!
I always enjoy your videos. Thank you.
I've got to start by saying that as a new subscriber (yep I've clearly been living under a rock somewhere) this has been my favourite of your videos so far. Absolutely bloody hilarious and so enjoyable to watch.
I loved Happy Death Day too and 13 Sins was absolutely brilliant so I was stoked to see them make your list.
Shamefully I'm yet to be brave enough to watch any of the Paranormal Activity films đ.
PS You're awesome and doing us Aussies proud đŠđș. Hoorah!

Black Christmas 2019 is easily my least favorite Blumhouse movie and I donât think itâs ever going to be dethroned
Yes!!! I agree about paranormal activity. Has such high rewatchability! I always include it on my favorites! Your lists are *chefâs kiss*
Thank you Jena!
I love your list! Some standouts for me -
Insidious: Chapter 3 works for me too! I get it.
Sinister scared me a lot when I saw it in theaters and I just finally got the courage to rewatch it and it wasn't as scary, but I still enjoyed it.
Insidious is probably one of my favorites. I love the world building in The Further and you really care about the characters.
Upgrade was so awesome - it was a movie my husband could appreciate (he isn't the biggest horror fan). We both enjoyed it a lot!
I just love how you speak YOUR truths & say what you personally find the best regardless of the general opinions! Love to see itđđ»
Knowing you and following your channel for a while, I think your favorite is Paranormal Activity?
That's Blumhouse, right?
đ»đ»đ»
Love the list! I agree with pretty much all of it, as well as your analysis of each one. Well done!
Thanks Jordan
I really enjoyed the list! The bottom five were most helpful to me because I havenât seen those, and now I wonât waste my time. đđ Itâs not just you. I really love, âparanormal activityâ one and two (& I even tolerate the 3rd, & have seen some of the others too). Iâm also a hardcore fan. Iâm a lot older than you and have been a serious fan of all horror/spooky/creepy movies since my birth on a spooky Halloween many moons ago. My grandmother took me to see Jaws in the theater when I was 5yo. I LOVED it (with no residual fear of water - even live at the beach). đ Congratulations on your add to Rotten Tomatoes critics!! I use their page all the time & look forward to reading your reviews!! đđ€
paranormal activity gave me nightmares and i had to sleep w/ a light on for like 2 months str8 but i think the marked ones is my favourite and idky

Edit after watching: I can't believe I haven't seen The Gift.
Omg please watch the gift!!!
It's REALLY good. Highly recommended.
@@JayJayAbels I just downloaded it. Thanks. I think the problem was that there are too many movies called the Gift. I liked the Cate Blanchett one from the 90's.
Lots of good choices here, I very much agree :) Also, I did not know there was a Creep 3 coming, but I absolutely look forward to it :D
been looking for a channel like this. thanks for not spoiling the movies.
people who hate paranormal activity are lying to themselves idc what anyone says LOL i love this list!!
đđđđ€đŒđ€đŒđ€đŒđ€đŒđ€đŒ
Nahhhh, I think its very boring. I used to say this about the found footage genre as a whole, but I think I have seen enough good FF films at this point to not make that claim. IMO, the only strong Paranormal Activity film is The Marked Ones (especially the ending) and Paranormal Activity 3 is passable. The rest just don't do it for me.
The Gift is by Blumhouse? huh, that is good stuff, in short, the lesson this movie teaches you is... Don't be a jerk.
Oh god itâs haunting!
Im honestly so glad you put Paranorml Activity 2 on the list its my favorite one of the series behind The Marked Ones. And i love it so much i rewatch it all the time and it still scares me.
Amazing amazing video, love how much you know the choices are gonna get a roasting at times!! Happy Death Day and Happy Death Day 2U are in my top 10, get out, hush, both creep films, split and CONTROVERSIALLY I loved the first purge
I had few differences of opinion with your Top 20 (not many). However, we are in total agreement with the bottom five.
You do a great job. Keep up the great work!
Wow great video! I love Blumhouse but haven't even seen most of these!
Keep up the good work! Love the channel!
Thanks Fred
@@spookyastronauts I was flipping through Amazon Prime last night, looking for a movie, saw Mercy Black, and kept flipping, ha ha!
Lmao love your list and your #1 is great - I remember watching it when it came out on DVD and I literally jumped and scampered behind my partner during one jump scare. lol
These videos are great Emma đ€
And girl I just found your channel Iâm binge watching it đ„°
Not gonna lie, when I saw you placed some of my favorite Blumhouse films lower than I expected, I was quite curious what your top 10 was gonna be, and wow do I have respect! Some of those films I didn't even realize were blumhouse (get out, creep, etc.) and those are easily some favorites of mine! I was also a huge fan of the paranormal activity movies as well so I get where you're coming from on those! Oh and I'm also hyped for creep 3!!
Out of your top 20, the only film I was not entertained by was The Visit. Everything else I either find scary, spooky, well made or if none of those then at least entertaining! Really liked this vid
I was looking for a blumhouse ranking the other day! Iâm excited to check this ranking out.
Great list! Thank you:)
Just found your channel lol. In my opinion Upgrade is the Venom movie we deserved, starring mini Tom Hardy. Glad I found it in your list, i think I have similar taste in horror/ Thriller with you.
Don't apologize Emma! This is your channel and you can say whatever you want. I also love Paranormal Activity, even though it gets shade. I've seen practically every movie on your list, found some new ones!
I love that paranormal activity is no 1!!! I love it and the first three. Also Iâm so pleased you added lords of Salem. Itâs just so understated, and my favourite zombie flick
Great video Emma. Congrats on the rotten tomatoes request.
You gotta go for that because we need better critics on that site and weâve already got drumdrums.
Paranormal Activity is the scariest movie I've ever seen. I made the mistake of seeing it at the theatres on my own. Haha
I love the other movies on your list, and a good variety. Wasn't sure what The Hunt was like, being wondering if it was worth purchasing. Now you've convinced me.
Only just discovered your channel, and it's great to have another horror fan to interact with. Look forward to more videos.
Great list! And your # 1 is the same as mine! Scares me every time!
Omg yess! I didnât realise you were such a fan!
@@spookyastronauts literally the only film to scare me since I watched The Exorcist as a teenager. I've only been able to watch it three times because I have nightmares for a week after. Lol.
Thank you so much for the gift, literally! :)
Cool list! Don't apologize or call your favorites, "guilty pleasures," as there is no guilt in enjoying something. Arguing and disagreeing (respectfully) about this sort of thing is why being in the horror community can be so much fun. That said, I also didn't hate "Lords of Salem," and I really like "Paranormal Activity" too. "Creep" and "The Gift" on the other hand... Love your channel. :)
This was so much fun hahahaha, great video!!! the snowman...fool me once jesus. what a mess.
I really thought US was gonna be your number 1hahahaha
I'm really glad Creep was in your top 10! It was filmed in my hometown and has such a special place in my heart
Agree with the majority of your choices Emma, especially 13 sins and upgrade, get out though I thought was underwhelming but we all have our own opinions so all good. Have you done an 80s movie countdown like this please? Love the channel and your reviews đ
That Martyrs remake was an affront to the universe. The nerve, to take something so brutal and beautiful and sterilize it - woof.
Late but not forgotten đ€Enjoyable watch as always. I'm on the same boat with your POV'S & most of the peeps here. 15 đUNDERATED & Penninsula OMG Can't wait, my most anticipated film this year.
Great list as usual!
Love this video!
My favorites are get out, the invisible man, cam, unfriended: dark web, happy death day, sweetheart and the gift
And my worst prey, area 51, the gallows and fantasy island
Hi, don't apologize for your tastes lol i knew Paranormal Activity will get at least a top 5 in your list since you said always watch Paranormal 1 and 2.. and you listed no.2 so i knew no.1 was going to be high on your list. Thanks for this list and all your videos, they are helpful :)
