Come and See is one of them, I loved it emotionally. I’ll never be the same again after watching Come and See (1985)
Come and See was super upsetting, wasn't it? So good. All world leaders should be forced to watch it before even considering going to war with another country.
@@suzybearheart530
If the war happens then me and Come and See are going to war together
Thanks for the likes everyone, this movie deserves its recognition
i feel sick just thinking about that film
@@mollyanna000
Me an all, I love it but very traumatising to watch
Happiness (1998) is pretty unsettling and deals with a lot of disturbing subject matter in a very uncomfortable way... Would love to hear your thoughts on that one, Emma!
I love Todd solondz! He’s one of my favourite directors, I’ve seen this one many times.
That is a great movie for sure. So unsavoury (OBVIOUSLY) but done with such craft.
I walked out of that movie it upset me so much. 🥺
I just rewatched Happiness a few days ago- it was both harder to watch than I remembered, and just as incredible
I sobbed like a baby after watching Gardens of the Night. No movie has ever made me do that before.
This happened to a drunk me after watching come and see; I grabbed the movie and hugged it so tightly that I nearly broke it. The love between me and Floyra is real, Woody does not like it. I’m never watching the movie drunk again because it left me so traumatised
I did too. Just watched it a couple of days ago
Emma, you NEED to watch “The Coffee Table”! I’m seriously still in shock by this one. You’ve given me so many great recommendations, I’m returning the favor. I’m serious. Watch it. You won’t regret it.
yesssss
Don’t know if this has already been covered…but a disturbing movie that has haunted me is “Bastard Out of Carolina”.
Only seen it once…and that was enough.
That's such a sad film.
I watched this as a little girl I think I was 10 because it was on lifetime, I really wish someone had changed the channel 😢😭
I haven’t seen the movie but I read the book…& that’s why I havent seen the movie, actually.
The Bosnian movie Quo Vadis Aida is very real. It's about the massacre of Srebrenica. It hits home for me because I am from Ex-Yu and lived through the war, but I was a child and never actually knew the real scope of evil that was happening around me.
Siouxsie & The Banshees tackled Painted Bird on their fine 1983 album A Kiss In The Dreamhouse. Its also on the live album Nocturne with Robert Smith ( The Cure ) on guitar 🎸 which is being reissued tomorrow for RSD. Great film & great song.
I didn’t realize that song was connected to this movie. Crazy.
That confused me. The movie was released in 2019. It has to be the novel that was released in 1965, written by Jerzy Kosiński. Same guy who wrote ”Being There”.
They didn't write the song about the film though, but about the book. The book is from 1965, the film is from 2019.
I highly recommend "Mysterious Skin", is about aliens but not really. You can see a very young
Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Brady Corbey being bonded by a very traumatic experience.
Yes I’ve seen this one!
Brilliant suggestion!!!
This film broke me in the way that only a well written, traumatic script can.💔
I read the book in high school without knowing what it was about and OMG I was absolutely sobbing at the end. This book and also The Heart is Deceitful Above All Thing absolutely destroyed my heart as teen girl! 😢
Boys don't cry, is anyone that has stayed with me
Great film
Yes great movie ❤
Have you seen Lilya 4 Ever?
I still think about that film and I saw it about 15 years ago.
My pick as well. I cried at the end. It's brutal.
Jack Ketchums The Girl Next Door is the most disturbing film I’ve ever seen, I bought the blu ray because it was on sale and I watched it that same night and then sold the movie because I did not want to see that film ever again, and I rarely get disturbed.
I haven't watched that movie yet because I read the book. That was such a hard read. I kept hoping for a moment where I could relax so I could take a break from reading it, but that didn't happen. Instead I took breaks when the book got too intense. Between that book and Offspring, I somehow became a fan of Jack Ketchum as a writer. That's a positive thing I suppose lol.
Agree with you. It’s been years and years and I still frequently think about how horrible it made me feel
A really disturbing film!
Trivia: The girl that played Cebe in Out of The Blue is Linda Manz. She played Solomon's mother in Gummo. You could think of Gummo as an unofficial follow-up to Out of the Blue. Makes sense. Aleksey Kravchenko had a small role in The Painted Bird. He played Flyora Gayshun in Come In See. I think I watched the film Savage Streets when I was little. It looks like the kind of film my dad would watch back then. Looks very familiar.
I absolutely love Linda Manz! I saw Out of the Blue when I was wayyyy too young!
If you include TV movies, Fallen Angel (American show, 1981) was extremely disturbing. I was barely a teenager when I saw it and it scared the heck out of me. It was all about child p***. I still vividly remember many scenes from that movie and the guy who played the “bad guy” in the film…his portrayal was so good that for years I actually avoided watching any movies he was in.
You forgot The Wanderers!
RIP Linda
@@fletchkeilman2205 omg wariorrrrrrrs… come out to playyaaayyyyy!!” I love “old school” movies!!!
@@ninijellybeanie6853 I was 12 or 13 when Fallen Angel aired on TV. I think it gave me a solid life-long distrust of men, ngl.
Many years ago I happened upon a film called Looking for Mr. Goodbar … starring Diane Keaton & Richard Gere! It was slow but by the end I was thoroughly disturbed and left thinking WTF did I just watch?! 😮
It is loosely based on a real case.
That movie messed me up despite having such a recognizable cast. I know it was technically their early days but because I saw it later in life I'd become very familiar with Diane Keaton so it was so weird seeing her in that role.
Tom Berenger not Richard Gere
@@Rebecca-en9pn Richard Gere is very much in Looking for Mr. Goodbar. He plays Tony.
Pardon I have not seen in awhile and I like RG and he didn't come to mind when i thought of it.
Eyes of my mother is deeply disturbing
I always love watching these videos even though I generally avoid disturbing films. I usually check trigger warnings before watching films that I think might be a bit too intense, but I went in blind to the original Funny Games about a year ago and that was disturbing enough for me!
Come and See (1985) never warned me but i know it was traumatising beforehand because I’ve heard 8th graders in America watching it and they were hospitalised due to being traumatised. I thought it was just another classic war film to love but I was severely traumatised afterwards for a week straight
I am new to this channel and am not sure if these were covered but "Boxing Helena" and "American Mary" were both disturbing. One of the films is from the early 90's and the other I think the 10's.
I strongly recommend 1969's They Shoot Horses, Don't They? It is currently my favorite movie, but I have no desire to watch it by myself.
One disturbing film from 1986 comes from Spain: In the glass Cage. A must see!
Yes! I’ve seen it
I saw it and it was interesting and yeah disturbing.
@@kemouse
I love depressing movies to do with the war because I can express on how I’m feeling and most of my family doesn’t understand it. I think it’s an autistic thing because that’s what Mummy recons
I appreciate you making these lists because it tells me which movies to steer clear from. Thank you so much for all your hard work.❤
Girl, just subscribed and I am binge-watching as many videos of yours as I can tonight. Love ya. Peace. Keep up the fantastic work
As always Emma hits another home run, great video
I’m glad you watched Savage Streets (glad?). I honestly only remember the one scene with the sister. It’s horrific. But it was so upsetting I remember it decades later. And I watched it at a friend’s house. We used to sneak and watch horror movies and get in trouble with her Dad daily. 😂
I LOVE the ambient music in the backround :D It sets a great atmosphere
Great video Emma ❤
Amazing list - here's some others that I found to be disturbing/bleak/depressing:
Targets (1968)
Carriage to Vienna
Kanal
The Fire Within
The Cremator
I, the Executioner (big content warning here)
I was severely depressed and traumatised after come and see that it made Woody pretty angry in the end, he’s now not the Woody I’ve always known for 17 years I have owned him. Woody is literally blaming Floyra for my depression and the way Floyra loses it with Woody is insane. I love Floyra so much for protecting me from one of my most powerful toys yet and Floyra plans to reveal to Woody what he’s really like so Woody better prepare himself
Emma! Your bangs are...bangin' . Love them!
Visitor Q is one of the most bizarre and disturbing films I've ever come across. It's directed by Takashi Miike who did Audition and Ichi the Killer. Saiko! The Large Family is a really disturbing mockumentary I think you'd like too :)
I watched that one then had to go for a walk 😂that was the most disturbing "happy ending" of a film.
I watched Saiko! The Large Family myself the other day. I didn't find it disturbing in the least, I actually found it quite uplifting. I don't want to say why here just in case anybody wants to watch it....okay you've twisted my arm, vague spoilers from this point. I found it uplifting because it's moves from a bad situation to a good situation. Moreover, it's people in a potentially bad situation who take action and make their situation better. It illustrates how one good person can make a difference in people's lives.
Visitor Q was so over the top that I guffawed at a few things that were deeply disturbing. It is horror, satire and the blackest of black comedies.
Hello Emma!
The Isle (Seom) by Kim Kiduk is an amazing disturbing korean film from the 2000 and one of my favourite films in general. It's about a woman who's willingly refuses to speak and her relationship with a man with questionable past. It's very sad, very slow, full of beautiful shots of nature and features a few very interesting and distribing ways to use a fishing hook.
Viewer discretion it has scenes of animal abuse
Actual animal abuse. Kim Kiduk was infamous for killing animals on his sets among other terrible things…
Okay, who let Savage Streets into the house? When I saw that film get recommended, I had a total flashback to late 80's video rentals. There are only a handful of movies I hate to admit I saw and Savage Streets is one of them. It was directed by Danny Steinmann who also directed "Friday The 13th, Part 5: A New Beginning", which is also known for its excessive female nudity. How I know that little bit of trivia can only be explained that I must have rented both films around the same time and that director's name just stuck out.
Probably have but... have we talked about "The Strange Thing About the Johnsons" by Ari Aster?
Omg I watched it with my discord patreons and it was a huge mistake hahahha
I've seen all of his shorts on YT as I love his feature length films. The twist/slant on what you THINK is going on is just pure ick fer sher 🤢
Nice to see "Clean, Shaven" and "Love Liza" get some attention. Very good films. I'm not sure if I recommended it yet but there's a really messed up but beautifully shot movie called "Love Eternal" on Tubi. The performances are good and the tone is pretty bleak.
What a wonderful Friday treat, another Disturbing list with Emma! I'd like to also vote for Mysterious Skin (I am not sure if you've covered it yet?) - I don't think any movie disturbed on that level. Maybe because I'm a mom, and the thought of someone hurting my son like that is what keeps me up at night...it's an incredible film though. Just deeply upsetting.
Come and See keeps me up at night because I’m too traumatised to get proper sleep but our friendship has grown really fast during that month I saw it
I lay in bed and sobbed for an hour after Mysterious Skin. No other movie has ever made me do that. It’s an incredible film and one of JGL’s best performances but I can never watch it in full ever again. Definitely disturbing and traumatic lol
I was coming here to suggest this! Few films upset me like that one.
@@iamjackspyramidshapedhelmet Oh my goodness, me too! I literally sobbed because stuff like that really happens and I can’t protect all the children from monsters like the baseball coach. Such an amazing, effective, sickening masterpiece. A reminder to be very cautious who I let near my boy.
I’ve seen mysterious skin, I’m sure I’ve covered it in an earlier video. It’s great pick
Great list! I so wish you would review "Looking for Mr. Goodbar". I'd say it's disturbing and traumatic and an amazing snapshot of the 1970's. It's been almost impossible to find but it's free on you tube now!
I saw that film in a theater when it came out. The ending is a gut punch.
@@actfray Oh WOW! I would love to see it on the big screen! That ending scene is definitely in my top 5 most disturbing of all time: just so terrifying. I think it's just such an excellent film as a whole and one of the only female focused movies made during the 70's realism movement. Diane Keaton is a goddess.
OMG No one ever talks about that movie! I saw it almost 20 years ago, either on the Sundance Film Channel or Independent Film Channel. Never saw Diane Keaton the same again.
Linda Manz from "Out of the Blue" was an excellent and natural actor. I loved her in "Days of Heaven". One of the most disturbing films I've seen is " Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom" (1975).
Finally someone else who watched, and agrees that Gardens of the Night was very disturbing.
I borrowed it from the library years ago just for the cast alone. Did not realize what I was getting into, and it has definitely burnt into my brain ever since.
You picked my movie . . . awwwww thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Not a fun movie to watch, but very powerful and disturbing, nevertheless. Thanks again!!!
It was fun doing this because people didn’t expect to be picked, thank you so much!
Which one?
@@spacegrass2738 - The first one Emma talked about
I’ll guess Happiness before watching - saw PSH in the thumbnail, what could be worse? Edit: nope, Happiness is not even on the list. Maybe don’t watch it, now that I think about it.
@joe i covered happiness a long time ago! i am a huge fan of todd solodz
I hope you know that I absolutely adore you, Emma!!!! To see a young woman SO dedicated to film is truly a wonderful thing.I've left you messages before saying how much you have challenged me in my viewing so... Thank You!!! I've seen none of these (and probably won't. LOL!)
Gardens of the Night wasn't for me, but I remember being totally blown away by Ryan Simpkins, who plays Leslie as a child. (Her brother is Ty Simpkins from the Insidious franchise, talented family!) I'm glad she's still acting as an adult, that kind of talent is rare.
Please watch The Coffee Table (2022). If you can... this movie is one that grabs you with a crazy traumatic accident AND NEVER let's you go... or forget it. I've never felt like this in a movie. It's an anxiety inducing manic dark comedy.
I can't seem to find it streaming
I'm so freaking happy you enjoyed (?) The Painted Bird. It's honestly one of my favorite disturbing movies. Just like A Serbian Film, I think it's a combination of the filmmaking and acting that really put it at the top of my list. I've def added a few of the rest on this list to my watch list! Thanks Emma! 💙
You should watch Come and See at night because the experience is horrifyingly better. I had nightmares for 5 weeks afterwards and I actually aged from 21 to 28 leaving my Woody traumatised for life but I’m more traumatised than him which made me have a close bond with Come and See lately and I’ve not left the movies side since
If you enjoyed the movie, I highly recommend the book. It’s not long, and it’s beautifully written. My favorite book of all time. Horrific still
I highly recommend the Korean film Hope from 2013. Definitely deals with disturbing content. However it's such a beautiful story. Worth the watch!
Not a recommendation, but I’ve seen many things and nothing has traumatized me more than the opening of Trauma 2017. Some things you can’t unsee.
You should attempt my all time favourite disturbing movie 1985’s Come and See.
Warning: Do NOT watch at night because I literally lashed out constantly for a month straight. 2 months on and I’m still not settling down
Recommending this one again: I Start Counting. Definitely not traumatic but I'd say it fits the bill of disturbing films, especially for the time it was made. Great work as always and loving the hair!!
Painted Bird is based on a novel from Polish author Jerzy Kosiński. Highly recommend it. I had to read it in high school as it was set text in my country (Poland).
Thanks, Emma! Great video. I’m wondering if you have ever seen “We Are The Flesh,” or “The Golden Glove?” Both recommended for disturbing content. Love your videos and the passion you bring to your work. Thanks again!
GREAT movies. Like, really incredible movies here
Yes I believe I have a review for golden glove up!
Not sure if you have talked about this one yet, but Dave Made a Maze. It is basically a guy that builds a cardboard maze in his living room and his friends begrugingly join him in his wacky antics. But seriously this movie had me glued to the screen, spotting all the little details they crammed into the maze. It's clear the filmmakers had a blast building this thing, and that passion just shines through. I don't want to say too much, but it has a lot of fantastic practical effects and unique visuals. Def worth a watch.
I love this series so much. I love a good disturbing/distressing film rec, and it's hard to find lists that aren't full of the "classics." I don't begrudge anyone their right to be disturbed by A Serbian Film, but there's just so much else out there! This is the one channel where I know I'll hear a bunch I haven't seen and even more I haven't heard of.
11:33 just that short clip almost made me cry.
Savage Streets was directed by Danny Steinmann, who came from... other kinds of films. Based on this movie, he got Friday the 13th, Part 5. That's why the movie is the way that it is.
My stomach drops if there's an animal listed in the name of the movie I can't even listen to someone hinting at you know what 😓
Hopefully you don't support factory farming
Hello Emma!
Ben aka Caspersight sent me.😊
Great content👌🏼
Love the narration. Keep up the great work! 💫
Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
Thank you so much!
One movie that stayed with me for years despite having seen just once was Ripe. An independent "coming of age" film about two teens who live near a military base. Messed me up for years.
Love your disturbing lists Em. One of the most highly traumatising movies I ever sat through in a cinema was Gary Oldman's "Nil By Mouth" from 1997. Also please check out "Tyrannosaur" from 2011. It's brutal!
Lilya 4-Ever is one of the most depressing and disturbing movie I've ever seen
Yeah that one was rough, I shed a tear at the end
Yes yes. That was so bleak and brutal. I loved it. The ending. Amazing
Great list. Only saw one of them. Rest goes on the to-watch list. I gotta say though I saw 'You'll never find me' this week and I thought that one was refreshingly tense, shocking and disturbing in ways that I hadn't thought of since The Girl Next Door or Chained.
I've heard about that Japanese movie called Imprint from 2006. Haven't seen it but i've heard it's pretty disturbing!
Here's the top 5 most disturbing I've ever seen:
Atroz
Trauma
Debris Documentor
The angels melancholia
Martyrs
And yes I've seen all the obligatory "most disturbing" (Serbian film, human centipede series, August underground etc.)
Edit: After watching the video I'd like to add in that I apologize in advance, these movies will completely scar you, I don't recommend even watching the marian Dora films. They're the most disgusting thing I've ever seen.
In their stead I'd like to recommend "Life and death of a porno gang" and "black metal veins".
Come and See absolutely ruined me and every time I do something wrong, i just break down and i just broke down about the late Queens 98th birthday on Sunday but thank god Floyra is with me as we both celebrate her birthday together
@nicolelawless9942 come and see was too slow for me it didn't really move me one way or another.
Watch trauma (2017) and you'll forget all about come and see
@nicolelawless9942 Come and see doesn't even come close to any of these movies. Unless you're a hardcore horror junkie/gorehound chances are you won't be able to finish them. They're less about being movies than they are about being a test of endurance.
@@SOtoKes
Probably not, it took me 2 days to get through this one and now I’m obsessed with it. I’m like that with war movies a lot lately
@nicolelawless9942 try Man Behind the Sun, Hamburger hill, or Fires on the plain (2014)
Omg, I read The Painted Bird back in uni, and the images it put in my head still haunt me. If the film even comes close, it's definitely one of the most disturbing of all time.
it comes pretty close

I had no idea The Painted Bird was adapted for a film. The book was a wild ride.
Just came from Caspersights recomendation of you. Subbed.

This channel is really my main source for discovering genre films I hadn't heard of. The viewers' suggestion is a really cool concept. Below are some films I saw over the last two weeks at BIFFF (Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival) and quite enjoyed:
Last Stop in Yuma County (2023) crime thriller
Your Monster (2023) rom com with an edge
Bath Bomb (2024) disturbing short
In a violent nature (2024) gory slasher
Exhuma (2024) Korean supernatural horror
When Evil Lurks (2023) Argentinian possession horror --> heard about that one on this channel last year and was quite psyched. Happy to report it delivers. Holy shit. Jaw-dropping stuff 😮
I've seen "Love Liza" a few times. Great movie. Heartbreaking.
Caspersite fan Ramboing it and doin "the thing" Big fan of this channel now too. Great stuff
Thank you so much
Glad you found my pick ”Clean, Shaven”. My name is Claes, from Stockholm, Sweden. That Fibonacci guy. Love your channel.
Omg I loveeeee Stockholm ❤️
New subscriber here , I am from Caspersight 😊 love this already ❤
Thank you!!!
I recently became aware of this film from 2013 titled "The Profane Exhibit". Let me say, I am absolutely OBSESSING over seeing this one, but the problem is it is nowhere to be found. The harder it is to find it, the more I have to see it. If anyone has seen this one and has any suggestions, that would be amazing. It looks GNARLY AF!!! I've only ever seen the trailer and one brief scene from it.
You can buy it from unearthed films, they also have a rent on demand channel for their films.
After your last video and went and watched all of them. Wow. I've seen a couple of these ones!! But I'm adding the rest to the list!!
How long did it take you to get through the whole list? Did you need a hug after? (I find I either need a hug or ice cream after watching this type of film)
@suzybearheart530 a whole day and I so needed a hug! The sunrise for the next day was like a comfort from my tears. And I turned on Ed Edd n Eddy and Hogans Heroes for some much needed laughs. ❤
@@filmfangirls9163 Oh excellent choice! When I watch something disturbing, I usually follow it with something like The Golden Girls, or The Middle. I call it my "palate cleanser" and it helps make everything all better. But just in case you still need it - here is a virtual hug from me! 🤗
I strongly recommend The Reflecting Skin. Beautiful, disturbing, and haunting, one of my very favorites.
You should definitely watch Scrapbook a 2000 movie. I have watched horror movies since I was a kid and this one was something else and should be on top of your list…love your channel ❤
Im so glad you liked Love Liza! Have you seen The Trouble With Being Born (2020)? It was banned from several major film festivals. The questions it poses 😮. Its subtle but unnerving if you think about the repercussions of the evil side of technology
Gardens of the night was definitely one of those movies that stayed with me after watching it because how gut wrecking it is, but at least you can see that the characters are resilient and have dreams for their life even after all they had been through . 😢
I forgot about Out of the Blue. I saw it like a decade ago while in community college and remember it having left an impression but forgot about it til now.!
I dont know if they "count" but The Jinx and Dear Zachary, both documentaries. I havent been the same after watching both. I cant even begin to describe the gut wreching moments in it. I still think about this story to this day.
I have a whole video about disturbing docos and they are on there! Very intense picks!
Hi Emma, apologies if these have already been covered but how about:
I Love a Man in Uniform (1993)
Michael (2011)
Tony (2009)
I just rewatched: the seventh continent 1989. the fish scene is OTT.
I'm definitely going to check out The Painted Bird, cheers for the recommendation.
Mate, I can give you a depressing movie with Linda Blair, it's called Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic......wholesome stuff 😊
Cheers SA
I've been wanting to wanting to watch the painted bird.
Will have to recommend 'Thriller: a cruel picture', just because it's so freaking amazing.
Not many people seem to talk about the film, Teeth. And the interspersed comedy is a nice balance for those truly squeamish scenes.
I love teeth! We have done a DTOY on it
Oh no! I forgot Love Liza. Thats such a good one. Clean, Shaven is pretty brutal too. Good ones
Hi there!

Thank you so much!
I'd give I guess what I'd call a soft recommendation for a film called All I See Is You. It's imperfect and very mainstream-feeling in a lot of ways, but there's a reveal in it midway through that just shook and horrified me so much I still considering it one of the most disturbing movies I've ever seen. It's really more a personal thing, I think, than anything the film itself is doing (it's playing with some of my greatest fears), but I do think it's a shame it's so overlooked. It's not a great film, but it deserves some appreciation. And Blake Lively's performance is quite good.
Out of the blue is a masterpiece. One of my favorite films ever
I can't remember if you have already covered this, but System crasher, a German film from 2019. A heartbreaking drama about how society fails a very troubled child.
Love Liza!!!!! That soundtrack
Savage Streets sounds like it deserves to be a cult classic if it's not. I'm definitely going to give that a watch.
I really enjoyed a 2022 called "La Tour" or "The Lockdown Tower". Definitely a film a lot of people dont like, but i did find it disturbing and bleak. And for some reason it stuck with me
Hello, I was sent over by Caspersight, Thanks for the content😃
Thank you so much
Absolutely Emma, disturbing is highest on my list also.
Ive still suprised that i havnt seen you cover "men behind the sun" its B gradeish now but holy crap its messed up because it covers such a dark part of history
Do I spy Love Liza in the thumbnails? PSH is my fav actor of all time.
I hope someone recommend the movie “Remember”.
There’s this indie film that came out in 2012 called “Jack and Diane” that I watched years ago and couldn’t finish it because it was so traumatizing to me. It was a movie about teen angst, lesbians and how jealousy can manifest horror.
I saw the painted bird in the cinema after waiting 2 years for it to come out. Good times. Saw Clean, Shaven back in the day too a nice little character study. The rest I’m gonna have to seek out 😆
The 2007 crime drama American Crime directed by Tommy O'Haver really, REALLY, fucked me up badly. The fact that it is based on a true event makes in incredibly hard to watch, to deal with emotionally. IT makes me so incredibly angry throughout and Catherine Keener's performance as an utter emotionally bereft psycho is so incredibly disturbing. The fact that her kids joined in on her psychosis it absolutely, exquisitely disturbing. It is the kind of film I never wish I watched.
I loved Out of the Blue. I became obsessed with the band that features - Pointed Sticks - after seeing the film. I would love to hear your thoughts on the post apocalyptic Mexican fantasy horror film - We Are The Flesh. It’s on Tubi (only 80mins running time.) Also I love these disturbing lists. Keep ‘em coming 🙌
I have the book The Painted Bird. It was given to me in the 1980s. It is very disturbing. I didn't know a movie was based on it.
The Reflecting Skin and Threads are two different movies that broke me in different ways.
