So good to see you speak (the mimics) as it makes the words easier to understand. I am living for over a year now in Portugal and notice that I learned all these sentences on the street. From as today I am going twice a week to the official language school in my city here (Setubal) to start with my A1 level. I am looking so much forward in speaking this beautiful language and having conversations with friends. The problem Portuguese people having is the same as we as Dutch, most speaks perfect English so all my conversations in my sportclubs or dog walking are in English and I love to change that to Portuguese. I will have a 10hours per week so next conversation will be in Portuguese :).

Yesterday I had the first lesson of the course and it is given purely in Portuguese. We use the book Passaporte para Portugues for level A1/A2. I noticed that because of all is in the language I feel I am missing out some information although I understand that this is the way to learn. I am looking at your crash course. Would that be beneficial to start the course I am in right now? I have all the time to learn but for me it needs to be practical and logical otherwise I start thinking about these factors :). Hope to hear from you.@@MiaEsmerizAcademy

In Brazil, we usually ask "tudo bem?" instead of "como está?". The formal way to say sorry would be "desculpe-me", and not "desculpe". And saying "queria" (I wanted) to make an order is used, but not grammatically corret, but "gostaria" (I would like), since "quereria" is not used.

Thank you very much for this lesson. I’m going to Portugal in two weeks and this was perfect timing! Although I knew a few of these phrases, you just taught me a lot that I didn’t know. I will be watching this video over and over again to work on the new phrases. In future lessons maybe you could write the phrases out and then say them. Sometimes it’s easier to understand the new words if you can read them and hear how they are pronounced. This also helps to learn how to read in Portuguese. Obrigada.

Kacey Caban you have to search for a little button on the right down corner of the video that says CC if you are on your laptop. If you are on a phone, you have to search for three vertical dots on the right upper corner of the screen and press there and choose subtitles. Don’t forget to choose the ones that say Portuguese (Portugal). Those are the correct ones :)

My wife and I are traveling to Lisbon and Porto in a few weeks so this is very helpful. My problem is that I have only Brazilian and no Portuguese friends, so I am familiar with their pronunciations. No eating the vowels, LOL, as you explained in the video with Virginia. I might hear them incorrectly, but my Brazilian friends end "bom" and "sim" with what sounds more like an American English "m" sound, but softened a bit. When I hear you say those words, they sound more like "bone" and "seen" in English, as you don't close your lips tightly as we do in English to finish out the "m" sound. Am I getting that correct? Muito obrigado!

It's already an older video, the new videos have things shown on the screen or in the subtitles :)

I would have liked to see subtitles to this... sorry :(
And a tip: you could have deleted the seconds in between the phrases when you frequently say "uuuuuhm..."

Thank you for the feedback and welcome to the channel :) You can turn on captions (PT) for this video, which will show the phrases on the screen. This video is actually already almost 4 years old and back then, I didn't know very much about editing, hehe. If you check the recent videos on my channel, you'll see that they have both subtitles in Portuguese and English and no dead space between phrases anymore :) I hope you'll have a look around on the channel :)

This would have been a LOT more useful if you put the words on the screen AND gave what they meant (eg, what was the "strobine" (??) at 1:14?? I went looking for a better video.

Permita-me observar que faço um comentário sobre cada um de seus vídeos aqui, para os quais você nos convida. Eu sei que eles são uma espécie de convite para nos ver em sua escola. Infelizmente, sou aposentado e não tenho dinheiro para chegar lá e portanto fico feliz cada vez que uma bela professora de português, "sem bigode", me envie algumas palavras em português com um comentário, porque assim tenho certeza de que há algum sentido no meu texto em português. Po favor leio o meu texto e obrigado desde já.
